Chapter 26. A kiss.
"What did you say?"
When Mo Qi asked if she could kiss him, Mo Xiu initially thought she was deaf and had misheard.
But looking at the serious expression on the other person's face and the gaze fixed on her mouth, Mo Xiu could no longer say that she had misheard.
Why do you ask that?
Mo Xiu looked at the man opposite her with some confusion, and saw Mo Qi scratch his head and say, "I just want to try kissing him."
Try it and see if your cultivation speed will increase after kissing.
Mo Xiu blinked upon hearing this, unsure of what had piqued the other person's curiosity, or if it was just a passing fancy.
However, in his eyes, Mo Qi's request was not an excessive one.
Based on his recollection of Mo Qi's experiences over the years, Mo Xiu felt that Mo Qi was still quite naive. Perhaps the man had seen something without her noticing, which was why he wanted to try.
"You can't do this kind of thing casually, you know that?"
Mo Xiu asked a question, and to everyone's surprise, Mo Qi on the other side actually nodded.
"I know, I won't do it with anyone else, only with you." Mo Qi wouldn't want to be kissed by someone else. But if that person is Mo Xiu, he seems to be able to.
Hearing this, Mo Xiu felt much relieved. Otherwise, if Mo Qi were to become curious and kiss just anyone, he would be truly worried.
Thinking of this, Mo Xiu leaned over and kissed Mo Qi on the forehead.
After creating some distance, Mo Xiu coughed lightly and looked at the man opposite her with a slightly unnatural expression, saying, "We're done kissing, is that okay?"
Upon hearing this, Mo Qi touched his forehead and stared blankly at the young man opposite him.
At that moment, he felt his heart racing, pounding incessantly in his chest.
This was the first time he had ever been so intimate with someone. He didn't know if it was because of this completely unfamiliar experience or because the person opposite him was Mo Xiu.
It was as if a fire had ignited within him, as if something was boiling over his will.
After taking a deep breath and savoring the taste for a few seconds, Mo Qi finally said, "Could I have another bite?"
This left Mo Xiu somewhat at a loss for words, both amused and exasperated.
"Anyone who didn't know better would think you were tasting the food here? You take one bite and then another..."
Mo Xiu said in a teasing tone, but in the end he couldn't bear to refuse, so he leaned over and kissed the man's forehead again.
This time, I stayed a little longer than last time.
Afterwards, Mo Xiu's cheeks were slightly flushed. Before Mo Qi could speak again, she pulled him down to lie on the bed, covered him with the blanket, and said, "Alright, it's late, go lie down and rest."
After saying that, Mo Xiu closed her eyes.
Mo Qi pursed his lips, seeing that the other person looked like he was already asleep and not allowed to speak or disturb him.
The kiss felt quite nice, but he didn't know if it had sped up his cultivation. Perhaps it was because it was too short a time, and he didn't notice.
He wanted to try again, but Mo Xiu looked very tired and insisted on sleeping, so he had no choice but to try another time...
Thinking of this, Mo Qi adjusted his posture, comfortably hugged the person, and then closed his eyes as well.
On the other side, after learning that Bian Tai had suddenly fainted, Xu Liang rushed over to check on his condition.
He was initially worried that Bian Tai had said something to anger Mo Xiu and had been knocked unconscious. But when he arrived at the scene, he found that Bian Tai was completely unharmed and showed no signs of having been attacked.
They called the doctor from the base to examine him, but they couldn't find anything wrong.
Later that evening, Bian Tai also woke up. Xu Liang asked him what had happened, but he knew nothing, only saying that he suddenly had a terrible headache and then fainted.
Upon hearing this, Xu Liang frowned. After thinking it over, he could only conclude that perhaps this guy had gone too far with his activities. He was too unrestrained in his daily life, and excessive physical exertion had caused his body to suddenly develop problems.
Xu Liang glanced at Bian Tai with some disdain and left with the words, "You better watch yourself in the future. Don't overindulge in sex and make a fool of yourself like this." After saying that, he left with an impatient look on his face.
Bian Tai watched Xu Liang's departing figure, rubbing his head in frustration, unable to figure out what was wrong with him.
He was already annoyed enough by that kid named Xie Wu who had his eye on him insisting on following them halfway. And now, he'd just heard from his men that Xie Wu seemed to be still with Mo Xiu. How was he supposed to make a move now?!
This was prey he had been eyeing for a long time; he was truly unwilling to give up without a taste!
As the moon sets and the sun rises, the sunlight once again illuminates the entire Shanhe Base.
When Mo Qi woke up, he was alone in bed. There was a sound coming from the kitchen; Mo Xiu must be preparing their breakfast.
So Mo Qi got up, dressed, and stretched his limbs.
To his surprise, when he stood in front of the window stretching, he saw Xie Wu still working in the fields outside.
The other person most likely didn't sleep all night and has already finished all the work on his assigned plot of land. Now, he's diligently filling in the gaps left by the others.
The man looked unwell, probably from working too hard for so long. His clothes were dusty and his hand holding the hoe was trembling, but he still didn't give up.
Seeing this, Mo Qi stroked his chin.
He didn't sense any malice from this person, unless the other party was trying to steal his meal ticket.
It seems that someone like that could stay.
After all, Mo Qi has always liked people with strong execution skills. Keeping such people around can help handle many things.
Just then, Mo Xiu came out of the kitchen with hot milk made from milk powder. Seeing Mo Qi standing by the window, she went over and handed him the milk.
He followed the man's gaze and saw Xie Wu downstairs, somewhat surprised that she hadn't left yet.
Should I send him away?
Remembering what Mo Qi had mentioned yesterday about Bian Tai bringing people over and making him unhappy, Mo Xiu asked.
Hearing this, Mo Qi remained silent, simply watching the young man opposite him. For some reason, he was more curious about the other man's choice than his own.
He wondered if Mo Xiu would send Xie Wu away after working hard all night, just to satisfy his own feelings.
Mo Xiu simply smiled at him and reached out to ruffle his hair.
Mo Xiu could easily guess Mo Qi's intentions. He didn't dislike them; in fact, he found Mo Qi adorable.
The other person seems to be getting more and more interesting with him. Now he knows to not speak, but to signal to him with his eyes. Is he trying to see if he can read his mind?
It has to be said that this attribute makes Mo Xiu feel that Mo Qi is really like a cat.
Without any hesitation, Mo Xiu summoned Cheng Cheng and asked him to handle the aftermath.
Xie Wu still left, but before he left, Cheng Cheng, as Mo Xiu had told him, gave him a lot of fruits and vegetables to take with him, as a way of making up for his work the night before.
These fruits and vegetables can be used to exchange for supplies at the base. For most people, although working all night without sleep is very tiring, getting these is definitely a profitable deal.
However, Xie Wu's heart remained heavy, because he knew very well that Mo Xiu was unwilling to keep him, and what he was about to face.
He couldn't find any other backers, and if he wanted to get rid of Bian Tai, leaving the Shanhe Base would probably be the only way.
But could he really survive and reach other bases alone after leaving?
The answer is that the probability of surviving is extremely small.
Could it be that I really have no choice but to submit to Bian Tai's tyranny?
Xie Wu was extremely unwilling, but he had no choice but to take the things Cheng Cheng had given him and leave dejectedly.
Seeing Xie Wu like this, Cheng Cheng, though unaware of the reason, was still moved by her emotions and felt a pang of pity.
Unable to resist, she stepped forward and said softly, "Um, Xie Wu, is your stuff too heavy? Do you want me to help you carry it? I happen to be free and can take you home."
Xie Wu shook his head upon hearing this, looking at the boy opposite him with his brightly colored hair.
The other person's light-colored eyes were as pure as glass, as if they had never been tainted by the apocalypse.
Such eyes were rare even before the apocalypse.
Seeing this, Xie Wu didn't want him to know those disgusting things. He forced a smile and said to Cheng Cheng, "It's okay, the things aren't heavy, thank you."
Besides, I don't live far away; I'm in a white RV on the edge of the East District, so it'll be a short walk.
At this point, Xie Wu remembered that he had taken out a loan to buy that RV.
He was planning to adopt some stray animals and thought that buying a motorhome would be more convenient so that he could travel with the animals in the future.
Unexpectedly, the apocalypse arrived before the plan could be implemented. After the apocalypse, the RV became his permanent residence.
Lowering her eyes to conceal the bitterness in her heart, Xie Wu left after saying this.
Cheng Cheng watched the man's departing figure, a bitter feeling welling up inside him. Turning back, he saw Mo Xiu and Mo Qi standing not far away and softly called out, "Boss..."
Seeing this, Mo Xiu walked over and patted him on the shoulder, saying, "Don't worry, he'll be fine."
Even considering that kid was so brave in his past life, although he failed to poison Bian Tai, he did cut off the other's manhood, which made him feel good, Mo Xiu would still help him out.
Xie Wu's tragedy in her previous life began because of Bian Tai. Now, all she needs to do is ensure that Bian Tai doesn't live to see the time when he harms her.
Without hesitation, Mo Xiu went out that very day to check on Bian Tai's condition.
After learning that the other party had been reprimanded by Xu Liang, he told the people around him that he needed to calm down and cultivate his character for a while, and that he did not plan to go out or visit certain places for the time being.
Bian Tai's decision was exactly what Mo Xiu wanted.
Although Mo Xiu scoffed at this person's so-called self-cultivation, the fact that the other party was staying at home was a good thing, as it would make it easier for her to make her move.
There's no time like the present.
As usual, Mo Xiu coaxed Mo Qi to sleep that night. Once she felt that Mo Qi's breathing had become steady, she took advantage of the quiet of the night and quietly went out again, heading towards Bian Tai's residence.
