Chapter 11 Smells Good.

Chapter 11 Smells Good.

Mo Xiu had no idea what Xi Wenlin was thinking. If she did, she would only think that the other party was incredibly shameless.

Even without Mo Qi, what do these good things have to do with him?

For the past two or three days, although Mo Xiu didn't say anything, she was actually very concerned about the wound on Mo Qi's wrist.

Seeing that the other person was still in good condition, with no signs of zombification and the wound on their wrist healing much faster than usual, he felt much more at ease.

Given this situation, could it be that Mo Qi is really not afraid of the zombie virus?

In her previous life, Mo Xiu had never heard of anything special about men, but for a fool to survive so long in the apocalypse was a miracle in itself.

Mo Xiu suspected that the reason was related to Mo Qi's physique, but she couldn't figure out whether it was a special physique or a kind of superpower.

Can a superpower withstand a zombie virus? Just thinking about it makes you realize how rare and enviable such a thing is.

Mo Xiu really wanted to ask him what it felt like to be a man. But given Mo Qi's current state, even if she wanted to ask, she couldn't get the information out of him.

However, basic awareness of prevention is still necessary. If such abilities are discovered by someone with ulterior motives, Mo Qi will probably be sent to a research institute.

"Don't tell anyone that you were bitten by a zombie, understand?"

That night, Mo Xiu earnestly instructed Mo Qi, regardless of whether he could understand what he meant. Just in case, he repeated it several times.

Upon hearing this, Mo Qi knew that the other party was thinking about his safety.

He understood all too well the principle that "a common man is innocent, but possessing a treasure is a crime."

Although she didn't understand why Mo Xiu was so kind to her, it didn't stop Mo Qi from remembering this kindness.

The man felt a surge of warmth in his heart, and though it was somewhat difficult, he still nodded to Mo Xiu.

Mo Xiu was quite surprised to receive such a definitive response.

However, a response is always more pleasing than no response at all. Does this mean that Mo Qi can understand some of what I'm saying? It seems he's not completely stupid after all!

The next morning, the group spent another half a day packing up before setting off from Anping Town.

The town itself wasn't very big, and the townspeople had taken most of their supplies with them when they left. So, it didn't take them long to collect the remaining supplies in the town.

The route was planned in advance, and Mo Qi and Mo Xiu were still in the same car.

Compared to other crowded and noisy vehicles, Mo Xiu's car is the most comfortable.

Seeing this, Xi Wenlin was extremely envious.

But he couldn't think of any way to change Mo Xiu's attitude towards him, since he had tried many times before.

Even if he offered himself to her in revealing clothes late at night, Mo Xiu completely ignored his advances.

Could it be that Mo Xiu has really changed her mind, lost all interest in him, and instead fallen for this fool?

Xi Wenlin was naturally unwilling to accept this, and he felt that he still had a chance to turn the situation around. After all, no one wants to admit that they are even worse than a fool.

So the next time he stopped for a rest, he took the initiative to find Mo Xiu.

Xi Wenlin specially handed over a bottle of beverage he had stored away and said to Mo Xiu, "Mo Xiu, would you mind coming over for a moment? I have something I'd like to discuss with you privately."

“I don’t think we have anything to talk about.” Mo Xiu did not accept the drink offered by the other party. She had already experienced Xi Wenlin’s little tricks in her previous life, and they were all very boring.

Looking at the scene before him, Mo Qi realized how this man had been trying to assert his presence in front of them time and time again.

This guy who's always bothering them when he has nothing better to do is clearly here to steal their meal tickets!

Fortunately, their own meal ticket seems to have a lot of professional ethics and doesn't intend to support other idle people.

Originally, having one useless person like myself was enough; why have another one?

A possessive feeling inexplicably arose in her heart, and she glanced at Xi Wenlin with annoyance, finding him annoying.

Fortunately, Mo Xiu's attitude remained clear, so Mo Qi wasn't truly angry.

Seeing that Mo Xiu had once again clearly rejected him, Xi Wenlin had no choice but to give up.

But he didn't give up. He always felt that Mo Xiu's feelings for him were different. They had been in the same club for several years and had a good foundation of friendship.

If it weren't for Cheng Yaojin appearing out of nowhere and attracting attention to this guy named Mo Qi, Mo Xiu would definitely have been moved by him.

Xi Wenlin attributed all the reasons to Mo Qi and felt that he had to find an opportunity to separate the two of them.

He's an idiot, a burden to the team, so why should Mo Xiu personally take care of him and give him preferential treatment that none of them get?

Mo Xiu didn't care what others thought and continued to take meticulous care of those around her. However, the next day, they unexpectedly encountered a large wave of zombies.

In her past life, Mo Xiu led her team along the original route and encountered a large-scale zombie outbreak. On that occasion, almost half of the team was wiped out.

I never imagined that I would encounter something like this after changing my life path.

Fortunately, there were far fewer zombies than when she encountered them in her previous life before changing her route. Even so, it was still very difficult for Mo Xiu to deal with them now.

Waves of zombies surged toward their vehicle. Even with increased throttle and knocking down one zombie after another, more would still pounce on them.

If this continues, not to mention what will happen to the people in the team following behind, both I and Mo Qi will be in danger!

Thinking of this, Mo Xiu could only try her best to activate the superpowers in her body, using her wind-type superpowers in conjunction with her lightning-type superpowers to quickly attack the zombies.

However, because his current level of superpower is not high enough, he seems somewhat powerless.

Faced with the tense situation, Mo Qi naturally noticed Mo Xiu's struggles and knew that they were facing a crisis.

Although he himself was not afraid of being bitten by zombies, he absolutely did not want Mo Xiu to be in danger.

No, I have to help Mo Xiu. This is his long-term meal ticket. How can I let something happen to him in a place like this?

Thinking of this, Mo Qi's expression turned somewhat solemn.

His body is currently out of control, but fortunately he still has consciousness.

The reason Mo Qi hasn't used his divine sense extensively is because his soul is too powerful. Using his divine sense rashly would put a heavy burden on his body's current capacity.

However, seeing Mo Xiu in danger and looking anxious, he couldn't care less about anything else at that moment.

A massive surge of divine consciousness erupted from the man, attacking the zombies opposite him and instantly shattering the brains of most of them.

With their brains completely scrambled, the zombies were incapacitated and collapsed to the ground one by one, leaving Mo Xiu stunned.

The others were completely bewildered and had no idea what had happened.

All that is known is that their crisis seems to have been resolved.

Seeing that there wasn't much left, and that Mo Xiu should be able to handle it herself, Mo Qi withdrew her divine sense.

This world is filled with demonic energy, but none is as concentrated as the energy within the zombies. Therefore, when Mo Qi killed those zombies, he also absorbed some of the demonic energy from them from a distance.

He wouldn't have been able to do this before; he could only absorb it through touch.

But it seems that because of Mo Xiu last night, his control over his body has been strengthened. Now, as long as the distance is close, such as the demonic energy in the bodies of the zombies on both sides of the car, he can absorb it remotely.

Soon, Mo Qi's dantian was filled with demonic energy, which served as a small compensation for the consumption of his divine sense.

Next, he could slowly refine this demonic energy.

Seeing the scene outside the car, Mo Xiu didn't care about anything else and quickly seized the opportunity to use her superpower to attack the remaining zombies, successfully annihilating them all.

After everything was over, Mo Xiu's supernatural abilities were almost completely drained.

Mo Qi's problem was actually more serious, because the sudden outburst of his divine sense had caused some aftereffects, and he was currently experiencing a splitting headache.

His spiritual sense is temporarily unusable. If he tries to force it again in a short period of time, his body will likely be ruined.

The car stopped, and Mo Xiu took a few deep breaths to calm herself down. Turning her head, she saw that the man beside her had a face covered in fine sweat and was very pale.

"Mo Qi, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?" Mo Xiu asked with some concern.

He still couldn't figure out how the group of zombies had been killed so inexplicably, but he didn't connect the dots with the man next to him.

Seeing Mo Qi's appearance, they assumed that he was frightened.

He quickly pulled off half of his clean sleeve, wiped the sweat from the man's forehead, and gently comforted him, "It's alright, it's alright!"

"That's all in the past now, don't worry, those terrible monsters have all been dealt with!"

Mo Xiu coaxed him softly, making Mo Qi feel like he was being treated like a child.

But so what if you're treated like a child?

He had never been treated like this before, looking at the worry on the man's face. Mo Qi suddenly had a thought: this kind of carefree life didn't seem so bad after all.

The other person's gentle voice rang in his ears, even relieving some of his headache.

Although he was still in great pain and had suffered some damage from using his divine sense, seeing how much Mo Xiu cared about him made the risk he took for her seem worthwhile.

Consider it a way of repaying him for being my meal ticket!

Mo Qi couldn't help but feel a little vain. Mo Xiu seemed to notice his headache, so she reached out and gently massaged his temples and brow.

Are you feeling any better now?

Mo Qi didn't answer, but simply squinted her eyes in enjoyment, and unconsciously leaned against Mo Xiu.

He wanted to get closer, even closer. Mo Xiu smelled wonderful, as fresh as a forest after a rain, and his eyes were incredibly clear when he looked at him.

It's as if you can completely relax just by being around this person.
