Chapter 6: Cleaning Up and Preparations for Moving into the Farm...

Chapter 6: Cleaning Up and Preparations for Moving into the Farm...

DouDou couldn't help but raise her head and rub against ShiWan's palm, while her two little paws kept stomping around, and she didn't forget to purr and act cute.

Shi Wan stroked its head, then scratched its chin, carefully checking the areas on its body where it had lost fur and scabbed over due to ringworm, before finally asking, "Little Bean, how are you so amazing? You cleaned the house so well!"

DouDou meowed sweetly, her voice light and lively, "DouDou is awesome, meow!"

"Meow, I'm not feeling bad today. Meow is really good at mopping the floor; I've cleaned it the cleanest for you ever~"

It was indeed very clean; Shi Wan felt that she could see the reflection on the floor even when she squatted down.

"Our DouDou is amazing!" Shi Wan sat on the beanbag chair with her in her arms and took out a comb from the drawer next to her to groom its fur.

DouDou's fur isn't long, and it's the kind of kitten that doesn't shed much, but it really enjoys being groomed. So it lay down on Shi Wan's lap, squinted its eyes, and started purring softly.

Shi Wan carried it into the bathroom again. "I'm going to give you a medicated bath today. Do you want to go to a pet store or bathe it at home?"

DouDou stood obediently on the sink, waiting for Shi Wan to bring the medicated bath solution. "Meow, it'll cost money to bathe at home."

Shi Wan looked at him in surprise.

What a clever cat!

After DouDou approved the water temperature, ShiWan carefully let it soak in, wet its fur, and squeezed on some medicated bath bubbles. It needed to soak for about twenty minutes to allow the medicine to take effect.

So Shi Wan started chatting with Dou Dou.

"Why did you suddenly start cleaning?" Shi Wan was very curious. How could there be such a good cat at housework?

DouDou's kitten face rested against the edge of the basin, its chin propped up. Upon hearing Shi Wan's question, it thought for a moment before answering.

"The cat got lost when it was a kitten and was taken home by its owner. The owner cleaned the floor every day, so much so that the cat would slip and fall when it walked."

Shi Wan understood; long leg hair could indeed cause slipperiness on a smooth floor.

"The owner moved without taking the cat, the clan leader found the cat, and the cat went with the clan leader. The cat lives with everyone, and since no one else cleans the floor, the cat cleans the floor."

It turned out to be a clean little cat that loved to mop the floor.

“That’s not right,” Shi Wan recalled Shi Tangyuan’s words, “but Tangyuan said you were digging through the trash can.”

DouDou, eyes wide open, said matter-of-factly, “That cat bed looks so soft, it must be a great place to sleep.”

Shi Wan couldn't resist touching its head.

It seems to be a fungal infection from digging in the trash can, or perhaps the cat bed was slept in by a cat that had ringworm and was later thrown out, which happened to be picked up by DouDou.

In short, cats will no longer need to scavenge for cat beds in the trash.

"Oh, right, I'm off tomorrow and planning to go back to the farm. Also, I bought a lot of cat beds, so I can replace everyone's with new ones. Do you want to come back with me tomorrow?"

DouDou jumped up from the basin, its two front paws still not enough as it stepped onto the edge of the basin, shouting, "I want it back!"

“But you’re not fully recovered yet, so you still need to stay in your cat carrier and can’t come out to cuddle with everyone, okay?” Shi Wan gently pressed him back into the basin.

"Okay, meow, good girl." DouDou obediently lay back down, with only her little head sticking out of the water.

Shi Wan noticed a black rag in the sink next to her where she washed mops. She guessed it might be Dou Dou's tool for wiping the floor.

With DouDou's tiny body, it probably took several attempts—stepping on the rag and flailing its four little paws—to clean the floor.

Fortunately, her house isn't very big, otherwise the kitten would have been exhausted and its tongue would have been sticking out.

After the medicated bath, Shi Wan dried it off and used a hairdryer to dry its fur before letting it play by itself in the house.

She, on the other hand, rummaged through the bathroom, packing up some cleaning tools to take to the farm the next day.

I'll buy a few new rags, a small handheld vacuum cleaner, and two new mops from the convenience store when I pick up the package tomorrow. I'll also buy a bucket at the same time.

Bring along all the pet-friendly cleaning products you have at home.

The newly purchased items will be shipped directly to the farm.

That should be all.

After tidying everything up, Shi Wan gave herself a satisfied thumbs up.

Wuhu~

I can pet the cats again tomorrow!

The next morning, Shi Wan took her documents to the nearest car rental company. Since she wasn't sure if she could finish packing in one day, she rented a car for two days first.

At her boss's suggestion, Shi Wan rented a five-seater mid-sized van.

Because she contacted them in advance and even got a group discount coupon, she only spent 160 yuan in two days. Considering the cost of living in her city, it was quite a good deal after deducting the deposit.

Loading the car was a bit of a struggle, so Shi Wan smiled and asked the young man at the post station to help her carry it onto the car, and even bought him a drink.

She bought fifty cat beds and a bunch of canned food from various brands, intending to take them to the farm's cats to try.

According to DouDou, they rarely get to eat canned food, which made ShiWan feel so sorry for them that she impulsively ordered a bunch of canned goods late at night.

Seeing the payment bill when I woke up this morning made me feel incredibly gloomy.

So expensive! So expensive!

Damn it, she'll have to unlock the canning machine too!

Once they arrived at the farm, Shi Wan had to unload everything herself. Luckily, she had borrowed a small cart beforehand, otherwise she would have been exhausted from carrying it all.

A nightmare for those with fragile skin.

Shi Wan pulled the cart toward the cabin. The flat area there was relatively clean and open, so she decided to use it temporarily for farm staff meetings, such as distributing cat beds and food cans later.

Otherwise, there really wouldn't be a way to stop so many big cats.

As she moved the cat, cats randomly appeared along the roadside.

Two large orange cats were squatting by the roadside, watching her curiously.

On the second trip, three or four tabby cats randomly appeared next to the orange tabby, licking their fur while watching her curiously.

As she made more and more trips, cats began to grow on both sides of the road.

Even Shi Tangyuan suddenly jumped out from nowhere and landed lightly on the pile of packages on her trolley, its big tail swaying happily.

Shi Wan glanced back at him, but did not intend to stop him.

She thought Tangyuan wouldn't fall, and even if she did, she would land quickly and run away.

Just like when I used to sleep on top of the air conditioner at home.

As a result, every time she worriedly shouted "Tangyuan" when she was little, she looked like a clown.

After going back and forth several times, when she finally put the cat carrier on the small trailer and pulled it in, Shi Wan clearly felt the trailer suddenly become heavier.

Looking back, I saw many cats jumping up.

They curiously approached the ventilation opening of the cat carrier and meowed to talk to DouDou.

"DouDou, are you done yet?"

"DouDou, why are you inside?"

"DouDou, come out quickly, I'll lick your fur~"

The meowing sounds were incessant.

Shi Wan didn't find it noisy; she just found it cute.

DouDou answered them patiently and affectionately.

"Meow, it's not ready yet~"

"The cat needs to be quarantined~ People say cats' diseases are contagious~"

"Meow, I'll lick my own fur, and when I'm all better, I'll lick yours too~"

Shi Wan stopped at her destination, sat on the platform of the small trailer, and began to unpack the packages. Tangyuan looked around, then jumped onto the cat carrier, stomped on it, and lay down.

The cat carrier is very stable, with DouDou inside and TangYuan on top, and it still looks perfectly secure.

Shi Wan patted Tangyuan and said as she unpacked the cat beds, "I bought a lot of cat beds online. I'll take them out and put them here in a bit. Tangyuan, can you help everyone choose their favorites?"

Before Tangyuan could say anything, the other cats had already perked up their ears and heard Shi Wan's words. Immediately, all the cats couldn't help but take a few steps closer, their eyes shining as they stared at the large pile of packages in front of Shi Wan.

After Shi Wan finished unpacking, she neatly placed the items on the flat ground without removing the outermost plastic protective bag. She planned to unpack and put them inside one by one after she cleaned the two wooden houses.

After everything was dismantled, it was handed over to Tangyuan for distribution. Shi Wan then dragged the small cart and cleaning tools to the cabin.

First, put the old cat bed into a pre-prepared woven bag so it will be easy to take away and throw away later. Then, use a broom and vacuum cleaner to carefully clean the floor and corners.

Then, use cleaning agents, rags, mops, etc., to thoroughly clean the entire room.

Finally, open the windows for ventilation.

It took almost three hours to tidy up the two rooms. When I looked back, Tangyuan had already led the cats to line up, each carrying their chosen cat bed and waiting obediently at the door.

Shi Wan felt a warmth in her heart. She squatted down, picked up Tangyuan, and praised him generously, "Our Tangyuan is so good and wonderful! He's such a powerful clan leader now. With Tangyuan by my side, I don't have to worry at all."

Tangyuan felt embarrassed by the praise, but she still puffed out her chest and said, "Wanwan, don't worry, Tangyuan will always be with you."

"Thank you, Tangyuan." She kissed Tangyuan on the head.

After helping all the kittens set up their favorite cat beds, and watching them lie in their beds, meowing happily, Shi Wan no longer felt tired.

My back doesn't ache anymore, my legs don't hurt anymore, and I don't feel bad about spending money anymore.

After everyone had finished admiring it, she called Tangyuan over, "I bought canned food for everyone, so every kitty will get a canned food today!"

The cats, having eaten the canned food, immediately became excited, running over with meows and whimpering, their four paws flailing about as they rubbed against Shi Wan's legs, their meows sweet and cloying.

The cats, who had never eaten it before, looked a little innocently naive, asking, "What is canned food?"

A kind kitten explained to them, "It's delicious! It's really, really delicious!"

Now all the cats are coming to rub against Shi Wan.

They surrounded Shi Wan tightly, wishing they could climb into her arms and act coquettishly.

However, perhaps due to the clan leader's status, in the end, Shi Wan only had Tangyuan, the big cat, in her arms.

Shi Wan was thoroughly enjoying being rubbed against, feeling the soft, warm little body nuzzling against her, and she wished she could buy eight hundred cans of food for these little cuties.

It's just a bit difficult to open the can.

However, seeing everyone wolfing down the canned food, and some even starting to shed tears while eating, Shi Wan pinched her reddened fingers and still felt it was all worthwhile.

After finishing its canned food, Tangyuan licked its lips and came over to Shiwan in a spoiled manner, wanting her to wipe its mouth.

It's had this bad habit since it was a puppy: whether it's eating a meal or a snack, it always needs Shi Wan to wipe its mouth after it's done.

Otherwise, it will get angry, run away and hide, refusing to be touched or hugged, until it takes a nap and forgets about it.

Shi Wan wiped its mouth before getting down to business, "Tangyuan, where are the farm's warehouse and factory located? If you know, could you take me there?"
