Chapter One: The Mermaid Baby Comes Ashore!

"Bai Li Wanwan, as the third-generation young master of the mermaid clan, you are now three hundred years old. It's time for you to begin your worldly trials. Go..."

"My dried fish!"

The dried fish that had been drying in the sun for a month slipped from her hand, and Baili Wanwan immediately panicked: "Let me finish eating before you go, okay!"

A huge wave suddenly surged up, leaving Baili Wanwan dizzy and powerless, only able to float and sink with the waves.

"My dried fish... Waaah..."

In a daze, she felt her body being slammed by a sudden, surging wave, and she instantly lost consciousness.

...

"Give it to me!"

A loud crash as something fell to the ground startled Baili Wanwan awake from her sleep.

Her long, butterfly-wing-like eyelashes trembled, and she groggily opened her jewel-like eyes.

"Mother..."

Baili Wanwan murmured unconsciously, propped herself up, and looked around in confusion.

Instead of the familiar corals and jellyfish, what came into view were clean and tidy thatched huts.

The room was simply furnished, but it was clear that it had been carefully cleaned.

Where am I? Everything's so dusty and gray, it doesn't look like her... it doesn't look like what...

Unable to recall, Baili Wanwan stopped thinking about it, blinked, and curiously touched the porcelain pillow beside her.

Cool and slippery! Just like her tail!

Huh?

Baili Wanwan belatedly lifted the blanket, revealing that her originally chubby, golden-red short tail had now turned into two short, white, lotus root-like legs!

Where's her tail?

Baili Wanwan stretched out her little hands and hugged her legs. Where did her beautiful fish tail go?

Huh? Her tail turned into human legs!

Baili Wanwan was strutting around on the ground with a smug look on her face when she heard an angry shout from outside the door.

"Wan Qiu Sui! What are you doing!"

Baili Wanwan curiously took clumsy steps and swayed as she walked out.

Two teenagers were facing off in the yard, while a younger child lay on the ground.

Wan Qiusui tossed the egg in her hand cheekily: "I didn't use any force, don't try to scam me!"

Wan Yuekui glanced at his unconscious younger brother, then without a word, raised his fist and charged at the thief who had stolen his brother's eggs and pushed him to the ground.

Wan Qiusui couldn't dodge in time and took a direct hit, instantly turning his eye black.

"You hit me!"

The two immediately started fighting.

Wan Qiusui was a year younger than Wan Yuekui and much shorter, so he was no match for Wan Yuekui.

As he was looking for a way out, he caught sight of Baili Wanwan, who was staring at him curiously with her big, round eyes.

Wan Qiusui grabbed Baili Wanwan by the collar and lifted the little baby into her hand.

"Haha, your family even found you a child bride!"

Baili Wanwan swung her two fair and tender little legs, looking at the little baby whose whole body was shrouded in a gray light.

I don't know why he was so gray.

But she instinctively felt that this person was definitely not a good person!

Wanwan hates bad things!

Baili Wanwan's small eyebrows furrowed uncomfortably.

Seeing that Baili Wanwan neither cried nor made a fuss, but just stared straight at him, Wan Qiusui felt a chill run down her spine.

For some reason, he always felt that the little baby he was carrying was not as harmless as it looked.

Wan Qiusui, steeling herself, poked Baili Wanwan's chubby cheeks: "Where did you buy this little idiot? He looks so dull, it's perfect that he's in your family, a whole house full of idiots!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the light around him dimmed even more.

Baili Wanwan wrinkled her nose unhappily, grabbed the finger that was poking her face randomly, and bit down hard.

"Ouch!"

Wan Qiusui winced in pain and instinctively let go of his hand.

Baili Wanwan slid down like a little fish, landing lightly, and didn't forget to turn around and stomp on his foot hard.

When her vulnerable toes were attacked, Wan Qiusui immediately covered her feet and hopped around like a lame chicken.

Wan Yuekui rushed forward and gave him a good beating.

"You, you all just wait!"

Wan Qiusui, whose face was bruised and swollen, didn't care about the eggs anymore and ran away in a panic, tripping over a stone at the door and falling face-first into the mud.

Baili Wanwan stood with her hands on her hips, looking quite pleased with herself.

She's an incredibly amazing little mermaid!

Wan Yuekui hurriedly carried his younger brother into the house, leaving only Baili Wanwan with curious eyes in the courtyard.

She looked around and awkwardly gnawed on her fingertips.

Where am I?

She tapped her head in confusion. She was a little mermaid who should live in the sea. How did she turn into a human and come to land?

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't remember. My head was throbbing with a dull ache, and tears welled up in my eyes.

She sniffed, holding back her tears. She couldn't cry; her tears would turn into pearls!

"Wanwan is lost..."

Baili Wanwan stood there pitifully, her head hanging low.

After settling his younger brother in, Wan Yuekui remembered that the little baby his grandfather had found on the beach the day before was still outside the door, so he hurriedly went out to look for her.

As soon as I stepped outside, I saw a little bundle of joy wrapped in an oversized padded jacket, standing on the grass covered with a thin layer of snow.

Her delicate, fair face flushed slightly from the wind, like a ripe fruit in autumn.

Wan Yuekui, who only had one mischievous younger brother, felt an itch in his heart and quickly stepped forward to take Baili Wanwan's soft little hand.

"It's cold outside, come inside quickly."

Baili Wanwan looked at the dazzling pure white light emanating from the young boy and nodded gently.

Wan Yuekui heated the stove until it was very hot, then wrapped the baby in the family's only blanket.

Seeing the little baby with only her head peeking out and her eyes sparkling with curiosity, Wan Yuekui's hands, which had been itching to touch her, finally couldn't resist and gently pinched her little cheek.

"It's so soft... even softer than the big meat buns Grandpa buys!"

Feeling the cool fingertips teasing her cheek, Baili Wanwan looked at the young boy in front of her, puzzled, and blinked innocently.

When Wan Suizhou returned with the village's barefoot doctor, he saw his eldest grandson "poisoning" the baby who had just woken up. There were suspicious red handprints left on the baby's round face.

"Wan Yuekui!"

Wan Suizhou sternly rebuked him, startling Wan Yuekui into quickly withdrawing his hand and standing aside.

Why are you bullying your sister!

"I don't!"

Wan Yuekui quickly retorted, muttering under his breath.

"But...it's really soft!"
