Chapter 311 This stubborn mouth seems to have its own ideas. (shuhaige.net)

Gu Yao is a light sleeper, so unless she can fly, she will never have a chance to leave.

"Okay." Gu Yao nodded and sat on the edge of the bed to start unbuckling his belt.

Zhou Chunhua closed her eyes and turned around in one smooth motion, so much so that she forgot to lift the curtain when she went out.

She took a deep breath and patted her cheeks to clear her head.

After walking only a few steps, they heard voices coming from inside the main room.

They are an elderly couple.

Although they were speaking in the local language, Zhou Chunhua was still able to understand their conversation from the few keywords she could occasionally make out.

The uncle asked the aunt to bring out all the money in the house, saying he would hide it among the things for Gu Yao tomorrow.

The woman apparently refused, saying that the money was meant for their son's prosthetic leg.

They also seemed to say that the money was the last thing they, as Xiaojun's parents, could do to help their son, so they disagreed with the uncle's actions.

The uncle then told them about how Gu Yao had asked someone to help their son with the lawsuit.

Zhou Chunhua stared wide-eyed in disbelief.

So... the uncle actually knew that Gu Yao's earlier statement about not having legal fees after losing the case was a lie.

They also said that Gu Yao was not related to them at all, yet he had done them such a big favor, so the money was nothing at all.

But the aunt still disagreed with the uncle's approach, saying that if they lost that money, their son would really be bedridden for the rest of his life.

It's good that they're alive, at least they can take care of their son. But if they die, their son won't survive either.

The aunt also said that the uncle was too naive, and that he easily believed whatever others said.

They also said that if Gu Yao was a fraudster, he had not only stolen money, but also their son's hope for survival.

The man seemed very angry, but his voice was restrained as he said he believed them and that they couldn't possibly be liars.

What Zhou Chunhua didn't expect was that the uncle actually said that if he was really cheated out of the money, then on the day he died, he would take a packet of rat poison with his son.
