Chapter 127 Heading to Jing City (2/2)

"Dr. Shen, thank you for your hard work."

Shen Liwu nodded slightly, his expression indifferent, "Commander, how is the patient's condition?"

The commander sighed, a heavy look on his face. "The situation is not optimistic. The bullet is lodged in the abdominal cavity. The risk of surgery is too high. The doctors dare not proceed lightly."

Shen Liwu's eyes narrowed slightly, and his pace quickened a bit, "Take me across."

A man hurried through the airport hall. It was late at night and the lights in the hall were dim, illuminating a few sparse figures of passengers.

After getting in the car, the commander sat in the co-pilot seat and looked back at her. "Doctor Shen, this mission is very difficult. We have tried our best to buy time. I hope you..."

“I’ll do my best.” Shen Liwu interrupted him, looking straight ahead, his expression without the slightest fluctuation.

The car sped along the streets of Beijing. The tall buildings outside the window quickly receded, and the neon lights cast blurry shadows on the car window. Shen Liwu's fingers gently stroked the edge of the medicine box, but his thoughts had already drifted to the operating table.

It was already morning when we arrived at the hospital.

Shen Liwu frowned after taking a look at the situation, it was a bit tricky.

"How is it?" asked the commander.

There were several doctors watching nearby. They went to so much trouble to find a little girl like this. Could it really work?

Shen Liwu did not answer immediately, but walked closer to the bed and carefully observed the patient's various signs. Her eyes were focused and calm, and her fingers gently placed on the patient's pulse, feeling the weak and disordered beat.

After a moment, she raised her head, a hint of determination flashing in her eyes.

"The situation is indeed complicated, but it is not hopeless." She turned around and faced the commander and other doctors, her voice clear and firm, "I need to undergo surgery immediately, and I need everyone's cooperation."

An older doctor couldn’t help but question, “Doctor Shen, the patient’s physical condition is extremely unstable and the risk of surgery is extremely high. Are you really sure?”

Shen Liwu's eyes met his without flinching, "No surgery is completely certain. If you do nothing, the result will only be worse. I can only do my best."

The commander hesitated for a moment, and finally nodded, "Tuo, I believe you. Everyone listen to Doctor Shen's arrangements!"

Shen Liwu quickly put on sterile clothes, put on gloves, and stood in front of the operating table. Her gaze was like a sharp blade, cutting through the fog before her eyes and getting straight to the core of the problem. In the operating room, the tense atmosphere is like a taut string that could break at any time.

"Prepare anesthesia. I'm going to explore the abdominal cavity." Her voice was cold and firm, and her hands did not move in a panic at all.

The operation lasted for a full 10 hours. Fine beads of sweat oozed out of Shen Liwu's forehead, and the assistant beside her wiped them for her from time to time. Her eyes were always focused and her wrist was steady, and she never wavered even at the most dangerous moment. Finally, when the last stitch was completed, her body shook slightly, but quickly stabilized.

Everyone looked at each other and smiled.

Shen Liwu took off his mask and took a long breath, the fatigue on his face was obvious. Her face was pale, and sweat from her forehead slid down her cheeks, soaking her hair at her temples. She slowly took off her surgical gown, her hands trembling slightly, showing signs of physical exhaustion.

The assistant beside her quickly supported her and asked with concern: "Doctor Shen, are you okay? Do you want to take a rest first?"

Shen Liwu waved her hands and forced a smile, "It's okay, I can still hold on." Her voice was a little hoarse, but she still maintained her calmness and determination.

After leaving the operating room, the commander walked up to her, looked at her with complicated eyes, and said with sincere respect, “Doctor Shen, you saved our soldiers. I thank you on behalf of the entire army.”
