Chapter 3 I Want to Hug You (2/2)

His voice seemed to be wrapped in a layer of gauze, gently falling into her ears, with a warmth that was hard to ignore.

The person you like is right in front of you. You want to tease her, but you’re afraid of scaring her away. Forget it, just take it slow!

Zhou Yanjing stepped back a long way and said, "It has a separate bathroom and toilet. You didn't bring many clothes, so just make do with them. I'll take a day off tomorrow to take you shopping."

"Okay." Shen Liwu nodded.

She walked out of the kitchen without looking back and ran into the room.

It was already 8 o'clock in the evening and the night was dark. Only a dim light was on in the room, and the light softly sprinkled on the red sheets, reflecting a warm halo.

Shen Liwu lay on his back, his fingers twisting the corner of the quilt unconsciously, the sound of insects in his ears came near and far, like some kind of restless urging.

The footsteps outside the door came closer and closer, steady and powerful, and every step seemed to strike at her heartstrings.

She held her breath, her heartbeat unconsciously quickened, her fingertips slightly tightened, clenching the edge of the quilt. The door handle turned slightly, making a very light "click" sound, and the door was pushed open a crack.

Zhou Yanjing stood at the door, his tall figure cast a long shadow on the floor.

He had just finished taking a shower and was wearing a white vest. The tendons on his arms were firm and muscular, revealing a sense of masculine power.

His wet short hair was still dripping with water, which slid down his neck and disappeared onto the collar of his vest.

His chest rose and fell slightly with his breathing, the outline of his muscles looming under the light, exuding a hormonal scent that no one could ignore.

Zhou Yanjing held a towel in his hand and dried his hair.

He was only 26 years old and gave off a mature and stable vibe, unlike what his stepsister had described him as.

Zhou Yanjing dried his hair, walked to the bed, lifted a corner of the quilt and slept on the edge of the bed, with a short distance between them.

The light still had an old-fashioned pull-cord switch, and with a click, darkness enveloped the room.

Shen Liwu turned over and lay on his side, his eyes falling on Zhou Yanjing's back.

Zhou Yanjing seemed to notice her gaze and turned around with a gentle and deep look in his eyes.

"What's wrong?"

He had broad shoulders and a straight back, and even when he was lying down he still maintained a soldier's upright posture.

The outline drawn by the moonlight was moving. How come Shen Liwu hadn't realized before that Zhou Yanjing was actually very handsome.

Without saying anything, Zhou Yanjing asked again: "Can't sleep? Not used to it? The bed here may not be as comfortable as the one at home. If you don't like it, we can sleep again tomorrow..." Look.

"Zhou Yanjing." Shen Liwu spoke.

"Um?"

"I want to hug you." I just want to hug you.

Zhou Yanjing was stunned for a moment, his body stiffened slightly, his fingers unconsciously clenched the corner of the quilt, his knuckles turned white from the exertion.

Facing the direction of Shen Liwu, he said in a low voice: "Were you bullied? Or did Dad scold you? I told Dad that we had no feelings for each other before, so it was natural for us to get along..."

Before she could finish her words, her arms had already gone around his waist and she was hugging a soft body.

Zhou Yanjing's body became even stiffer and his breathing suddenly stopped for a moment.

He could clearly feel her body temperature coming through the thin cloth, with a faint fragrance, like a spring breeze blowing across his heart.
