Chapter 72 The antidote has been developed (2/2)

Shen Liwu nodded, "Well, I just gave it to the dean, and I should be able to start the injection soon."

"Thanks for your hard work."

Shen Liwu looked up at him with a hint of doubt in his eyes. "Why are you here?"

"I'm worried about you." How could he feel at ease if she didn't go home, so he came to the hospital.

Shen Liwu curled the corner of his mouth slightly, revealing a tired smile on his face.

"Don't worry, I can still hold on."

Zhou Yanjing's gaze lingered on her pale face for a moment, his brows slightly furrowed.

"go home?"

Shen Liwu shook his head. Although his steps were a little shaky, he still insisted: "I have to wait for the first batch of injections to come out before I can rest in peace."

Zhou Yanjing was helpless. He felt sorry for her but also understood her stubbornness, so he could only sigh.

"Then go to the lounge. I'll watch over you."

"I can't walk anymore." Shen Liwu's voice was as weak as a wisp of smoke, drifting in the cold wind in the early morning.

Her eyelids felt heavy and threatened to close, and the ground beneath her feet seemed to be shaking. Zhou Yanjing looked at her shaky body, his heart tightened, and he picked her up without hesitation, "Don't try to be stubborn."

Shen Liwu chuckled twice, and put his head in his arms, not angry, "I don't want to walk when you are here."

Zhou Yanjing carried Shen Liwu into the hospital corridor, his steps steady but with a hint of imperceptible anxiety.

She rested her head on his chest, breathing shallowly, like a feather brushing against his heart.

She was very light, her body so light that it seemed like it could be blown away by a gust of wind, but the weight of her persistence made him feel extremely heavy.

"You'll collapse if you keep doing this." He whispered, his tone mixed with heartache and blame, as if he was blaming a child who didn't know how to take care of himself.

Shen Liwu closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly, and when she heard his words, she replied: "You don't understand, I am so dedicated. Every researcher has an ultimate goal, and so do I."

Zhou Yanjing suddenly didn’t like this sentence. He didn’t understand?

He really didn't understand, because he didn't understand the stuff in this area, and he didn't have any topic to talk about, so he couldn't help her.

"I don't want you to work so hard."

He raised Shen Liwu, and he also hoped that she could do what she liked.

Zhou Yanjing stopped at the door of the lounge, his hand on the door handle, hesitating for a moment.

The baby in his arms had calmed down, his breathing gradually becoming steady, like a tired little animal curled up on his chest.

"We're here." He said in a low voice.

Shen Liwu uttered a soft "hmm" but did not open his eyes, as if he did not even have the strength to speak.

Zhou Yanjing opened the door and carefully put her on the bed. Just as he was about to take the quilt, Shen Liwu grabbed his hand and said, "Don't go. Sleep with me."

Zhou Yanjing was stunned for a moment, then looked down at her hand. Her slender fingers were tightly clasping his wrist, her fingertips were cold but her strength was firm.

He didn't struggle, but sat down gently on the edge of the bed and let her pull him closer.

"I'm not leaving. I'm going to get the quilt." His voice was low and gentle, as if he was coaxing a restless child.

Bringing the quilt over, he lay down on his side, naturally wrapped his arms around her shoulders, and held her in his arms.

Shen Liwu put her head on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat, her nerves finally relaxed and she fell asleep.
