Chapter 81: Not at night? (1/2)

"I can do it myself." Shen Liwu felt a little unhappy and wanted to retract his foot.

"Don't move." Zhou Yanjing held her feet, his tone gentle but unyielding, "Let me do it."

The warm water flowed over the back of her feet, and the feeling of comfort spread from her toes to her whole body. His palms were broad and strong, but his movements were extremely gentle, as if he was handling a precious piece of porcelain. Shen Liwu looked at his drooping brows, and a warm current surged in her heart.

"Zhou Yanjing." She called softly.

"Um?"

"Thank you."

Zhou Yanjing raised his head, met her gaze, and a faint smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, "Why thank me? This is what I should do."

Shen Liwu pursed her lips, a hint of shyness flashed in her eyes, “I mean...thank you for taking me home.”

Zhou Yanjing paused for a moment, then continued massaging her feet, "This is your home, too."

The room became quiet, with only the gentle sound of running water as the only sound. The sunlight shone obliquely through the window onto the ground, forming golden beams of light. The air was filled with the faint scent of mugwort, which Zhou's mother had specially lit in the room, saying that it could repel mosquitoes and calm the mind.

After washing her feet, Zhou Yanjing carefully dried her feet with a towel, then shook out the quilt and said, "Lie down, I'll pour some water."

He carried the basin out, Shen Liwu lifted his feet and hid under the quilt, and Zhou Yanjing came back soon.

He got on the bed, and Zhou Yanjing gently lifted the red quilt and crawled into the bed. Shen Liwu moved to the side to make room for him. He turned sideways, and his arms easily wrapped around her waist, pulling her into his arms.

"Wife." Zhou Yanjing's voice was filled with grievance.

Shen Liwu turned around and looked at his face, with a hint of doubt in his eyes.

"What's wrong?"

Zhou Yanjing tightened his arms around her, resting his chin on her shoulder, and the hot air from his breath sprayed on her neck, causing her to shiver slightly.

"You've ignored me these past two days." His voice was muffled, like a neglected child.

Shen Liwu: “…”

Is there?

Aren't you riding in the car?

"I miss you." Zhou Yanjing reached out his hand to her chest and kneaded it.

Now Shen Liwu understood what he wanted to do?

She slapped Zhou Yanjing's hand away and glared at him, "Washing the sheets as soon as you get home, how will our parents see us?"

Zhou Yanjing chuckled, his fingers nimbly bypassed her obstruction and covered her waist again, his fingertips gently caressing her skin, bringing a tingling sensation.

"They are just waiting for us to have a big fat boy soon. How could they think too much?" His voice was low and teasing. His hot breath sprayed on her ears, making her feel itchy and she couldn't help but shrink her neck.

Shen Liwu's cheeks instantly turned red, and her ears were burning. She reached out and pushed his chest, pretending to be serious and said, "Stop it, it's broad daylight, if you're not embarrassed, then I'll be embarrassed too."

Zhou Yanjing was unmoved. Instead, he hugged her tighter, put his lips next to her ear, and whispered, "Why are you embarrassed? We are husband and wife, and it's legal and compliant."
