Chapter 81: Not at night? (2/2)

Shen Liwu's heartbeat couldn't help but speed up a few times. She clearly wanted to push him away, but her body seemed to be wrapped in his breath and she couldn't move.

Her fingers unconsciously grasped the corner of his clothes, and her voice softened, "You...you let me go first, my parents will be back soon..."

"They're not that fast."

Zhou Yanjing kissed her neck lightly, licking her sensitive skin with the tip of his tongue, causing her to shudder. "Besides, they've already gone out, and they won't be back for a while."

Shen Liwu felt that his breathing was getting heavier, his body temperature was gradually rising, and his whole body seemed to be wrapped in a ball of fire. Her mind told her that she should stop him, but her body's reaction was much more honest, and every cell was clamoring to get closer to him.

"Zhou Yanjing..." Her voice trembled slightly, as if she was begging for mercy, but also as if she was tacitly agreeing.

"I'm in the wife's house."

"Can't we do it at night?" It would be so embarrassing in broad daylight if my parents came back and saw us.

Zhou Yanjing stopped moving and remained obedient.

Zhou Yanjing sighed softly, slowly moving his fingers from her waist, and tucked her hair behind her ears. His fingertips gently stroked her earlobe with a reluctant warmth.

"Okay, I'll listen to you. We'll talk tonight."

Shen Liwu breathed a sigh of relief, the blush on her cheeks had not yet completely faded, and her eyes were watery, as if their petals were soaked by morning dew. She curled up and buried her head in his chest, listening to his steady and strong heartbeat, and her mood gradually calmed down.

"Actually, I miss you, too." Her voice was muffled in his arms, softly, like a feather brushing against the tip of his heart.

Zhou Yanjing looked down at her, a gentle smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, and he patted her back lightly with his fingers, "I know."

The room was so quiet that the only sounds were the breathing of the two people. Occasionally, a few birds chirped outside the window, mixed with the chirping of insects in the fields in the distance. The room seemed particularly quiet. The sunlight filtered in through the gaps in the curtains, and mottled shadows danced on the floor like a silent movement.

"I'll just hold you, go to sleep!"

Shen Liwu hummed softly, closed her eyes, and felt the warmth in his arms. Her breathing gradually became steady and her body relaxed, as if she had found the safest harbor.

Zhou Yanjing's hand was still on her back, his fingertips stroking it unconsciously, as if he was comforting a tired kitten.

Shen Liwu's eyelids became heavier and heavier, his consciousness gradually blurred, and finally he fell into a deep sleep.

Zhou Yanjing lowered his head to look at her sleeping face. Her eyelashes fluttered gently like butterfly wings, and her cheeks still had a lingering blush. His eyes were gentle, as if he wanted to engrave every inch of her appearance into his heart. He raised his hand gently and traced the space between her brows with his fingertips, moving very lightly for fear of waking her.

Time passed by little by little, the light and shadow outside the window gradually dimmed, and the afterglow of the setting sun shone through the curtains, giving the room a soft golden color.

After an unknown amount of time, there was a slight noise outside the door, followed by Zhou's mother's low voice, "Are the children asleep?"

Zhou's father's voice also rang out, "Looks like he's asleep, let's keep our voices down."

Zhou Yanjing heard the conversation between his parents, curled the corners of his lips slightly, raised his hand and gently covered Shen Liwu's ears, fearing that she would be woken up. He let go of her hand only when the footsteps outside the door faded away. He lowered his head and gave her a light kiss on the forehead.

"I slept for the whole afternoon. I was really sleepy." His voice was almost inaudible, carrying endless tenderness.

From the yard came the low voices of Zhou's mother and father talking, accompanied by the crisp sound of spatulas colliding, and the aroma of food gradually wafted away.

Zhou Yanjing gently stood up, tucked in the corners of the quilt for Shen Liwu, and tiptoed out of the room.
