Chapter 395 He doesn't seem very happy.

In the fourth year since Jing Min left, Haicheng's business community has ushered in a new round of reshuffling.

As the older generation gradually retires behind the scenes, the new generation is emerging, embracing change with greater boldness and staying at the forefront of the times.

The Chu family, which was originally in turmoil, gradually stabilized amidst the upheaval. Under Chu Xi's full control, it grew stronger day by day and returned to an upward trajectory.

The fifth year,

The Chu family successfully took over the core division that had once belonged to Boyifang, rapidly expanding and strengthening it, and recreating the glory of their fathers. Meanwhile, Chu Wuyang also rose through the ranks through experience and training, eventually taking the helm of KOALA and becoming its president.

It's raining again!

The sky was overcast, and the rain, like endless threads, fell gently from the sky, soaking the entire city in a layer of damp mist.

Chu Wuyang sat in the car, looking at the road ahead, its surface glistening from the rain, and the traffic jam that stretched as far as the eye could see.

His brows furrowed more and more.

She was extremely upset.

Nothing good ever comes out on days like this.

They're either late, something goes wrong at the last minute, or some inexplicable mess comes knocking on their door.

Her fingers gripped the steering wheel harder without her noticing, and her knuckles turned white.

She couldn't resist leaning out to look ahead—

In the rain, a well-dressed woman stood in the middle of the road, looking like a doll that had been suddenly thrown into this mess.

His motionless state seemed particularly abrupt.

Her skirt was already wet, clinging to her body and outlining her slender figure; her high heels seemed unsteady.

He looked somewhat flustered and at a loss.

What's even more annoying is the incessant "beep beep beep" of the horns, one after another, sounding like a deliberate or unintentional harassment.

Even though the woman looked very uneasy, no one actually got out of the car to help her.

The rain wasn't heavy; it was a fine, continuous drizzle that even felt a little cool on the skin.

But even this little bit of rain made the whole road slippery and difficult to walk on, while those sitting in their cars were too lazy to get out and just watched the commotion through their car windows.

Chu Wuyang glanced around.

Sure enough, the windows of every car were either half-open or the figures inside could be vaguely seen.

Most of them are men.

Some people were smoking, some were laughing, and some were even peeking out and saying something that couldn't be seen clearly.

She immediately understood what these people meant.

A beautiful woman, dressed elegantly, stood helplessly in the rain, her clothes soaked and revealing their lines. To them, this was simply a free, low-brow spectacle.

Nobody really intended to help her; they were just hiding in their cars waiting to see her make a fool of herself, or get her wet more so they could get a better look.

"That's outrageous! Don't they have any manners?"

Chu Wuyang cursed under his breath.

His face turned cold, and without thinking any further, he grabbed his bag from the passenger seat, pushed open the door, and got out of the car.

The rain was hitting her face, so she simply held her bag above her head to shield her vision and prevent it from getting blurry.

With quick and steady steps, she strode across the slippery ground, braving the rain as she walked briskly toward the woman who was still standing there.

She is not someone who is overly kind.

But it's not something someone can just stand by and watch others be humiliated like this.

"Miss, please come with me."

As soon as he finished speaking,

Chu Wuyang had already pulled the still-dazed woman off the road and protected her as she hid in his car.

The sordid spectacle came to an end; the fun was over, and the men whistled as they drove away.

The noisy traffic gradually cleared up like water, and the streets returned to normal.

Chu Wuyang closed the car door, sat back in the driver's seat, and started the engine while glancing at the woman in the passenger seat.

It was a face so exquisite that it seemed impossible for an ordinary person to appear in such an awkward situation. The skin was so white it was almost transparent, the eyebrows and eyes were soft, the eyelashes were long, and a pair of mixed-race amber eyes were watching her quietly like a cat, with lingering panic and overflowing gratitude.

Chu Wuyang paused for a moment, guessing that the woman might not understand Chinese, and was about to switch to English when the woman suddenly spoke.

"Thank you."

She speaks standard Mandarin, softly and clearly.

Chu Wuyang was taken aback. He immediately pulled the car over to the side of the road, turned around, and looked at her in surprise.

"You can speak Chinese? You're Chinese?"

The woman shook her head, her voice still soft.

“She’s not Chinese, but my husband can speak Chinese.”

Chu Wuyang raised an eyebrow, suddenly becoming curious.

"He taught you? He's Chinese?"

"No, he just lived in China for a long time before."

The woman spoke gently.

"However... he was too busy to teach me these things, so I learned them on my own."

Her face was still wet with water droplets, and her hair was also soaked. Chu Wuyang casually pulled out a few tissues from the car and handed them to her.

"Wipe it off, don't catch a cold."

"Thanks."

The woman took the tissue with such gentle movements that it was as if she were afraid of wrinkling something.

Chu Wuyang looked at her while secretly pondering.

Based on her experience, this young lady looked like someone from a wealthy and noble family. She was well-mannered, polite, and had a face that was hard to look away from. But the way she looked at her helplessly standing in the middle of the road just now made her seem like someone with little life experience.

She must be one of those overly protected rich housewives, right? But if that's the case, why would she be alone in a place like this?

He didn't even have anyone with him?

Chu Wuyang hesitated for a moment, then asked.

Why were you standing in the middle of the road? Did something happen?

After wiping away the water droplets, the woman held the tissue in her hand and nodded gently.
