Chu Wuyang was about to speak,
The dilapidated wooden door suddenly creaked open, and the old iron lock made a screeching sound.
A burst of light from outside flooded into the dimly lit room, casting shadows that outlined several tall figures.
Chu Wuyang subconsciously looked up, her eyes slightly narrowed as she gazed towards the doorway.
Several casually dressed, burly men filed in.
They wore faint smiles on their faces.
His gaze swept between her and Yun Yang.
It exudes a malicious intent.
The leading man had a hoarse voice, tinged with a hint of mockery:
"You two woke up pretty quickly."
Chu Wuyang frowned, her gaze quickly sweeping over the group of people to make sure she didn't recognize them.
She turned to look at Yun Yang.
But they found her leaning against the wall with her head down, her face showing no surprise or panic.
Instead, he appeared completely calm.
It was as if all of this was expected.
The man in the lead took a few steps closer to Chu Wuyang, his steps dragging, exuding a nonchalant laziness.
He bent down, half-squatting in front of her, to look her in the eye, a malicious smile playing on his lips:
"Beautiful lady... oh no, I should call you Mrs. Jing, right? Long time no see."
"What? Don't you remember me?"
His voice carried a hint of cold mockery.
Chu Wuyang paused for a moment, then looked closely at the man's face.
Her messy, shoulder-length hair covered most of her forehead; her face was a mixture of dark and red skin, rough and cracked.
However, one can vaguely discern that his original facial features should have been delicate and refined.
The man was very close, and he reeked of a fishy, foul odor.
Chu Wuyang couldn't help but frown, gently sniffed, and tried to take a step back, but there was nowhere to retreat.
The man clearly noticed the disgust in her eyes, and his face instantly darkened.
He suddenly reached out and grabbed Chu Wuyang's chin.
The force was so great it felt like it was going to crush her bones, forcing her to look him in the eye.
"What's wrong? It seems Mrs. Jing has a bad memory?"
Chu Wuyang winced in pain, her chin throbbing from being pinched.
Her gaze, however, unconsciously fell on the man's left shoulder—he was missing a hand.
His empty sleeves swayed gently with his movements, giving off an eerie sense of unease.
The man followed her gaze down to his mutilated left arm, let out a cold laugh, his tone filled with hatred:
"Oh, you see? That's all thanks to you."
Chu Wuyang was stunned.
My mind raced, searching for memories of him.
But it was completely blank…
She suppressed her panic and tried to calm herself down.
Although she didn't know who the other person was
But judging from his tone and attitude, this was clearly a form of "retaliation" against her.
Since the other party mentioned "thanks to you," it means that this person must have a motive.
Where there is motive, there is need; she only needs to cooperate with him and meet his demands.
That means it's safe for now.
Thinking of this, she quickly organized her thoughts, figuring she had to stall for time at least a little longer.
She spoke slowly, her voice low but steady:
"What are you talking about? I really don't know."
"But you kidnapped me, you must want something from me."
"As long as you can tell me, and it's something I can do, I will try my best to fulfill your request."
"Since you know I'm Mrs. Jing, you should also know I'm a young lady from the Chu family. I can certainly fulfill most requests,"
The man paused for a moment upon hearing this, then threw his head back and laughed, a chilling laugh carrying a sinister undertone.
"I know, of course I know."
"It's because we found out too late that things have turned out this way."
"If I had known your identity back then, I wouldn't have bothered with you, and things wouldn't have turned out like this. But it's no use saying all this now..."
He turned to the side, pointed to his several crippled companions behind him, and said with a mocking tone:
"Oh, by the way, my brothers, some of them are missing limbs, and they're suffering like this all because of you."
"To be precise—it's all thanks to your husband Jingmin, but you're the real culprit!"
Chu Wuyang was stunned, her pupils contracted slightly, and a huge wave of emotion surged in her heart.
Jing Min? His enemy?
She looked up at the man, trying to find more clues from his words.
Seeing the confusion on her face, the man's smile grew even more sarcastic, his tone tinged with a hint of patience:
"What? Still don't understand?"
"Then let me remind you—you got drunk at the bar on the Chu family's cruise ship..."
Chu Wuyang's breath hitched, and when she looked up, she met the man's gaze directly, her heart pounding instantly.
Seeing this, the man revealed a lewd smile, slowly stood up, and looked down at her:
"Did you understand?"
"Cheng-ge, why waste so much time talking to her?"
A man behind them, missing a leg, spoke impatiently in a hurried tone.
Cheng turned his head and glanced at the man. His smile gradually faded, and his expression became cold and sinister.
His voice was low and deep, his tone revealing a deliberately suppressed hatred:
"No rush, take your time."
"I will settle this score, one by one."
"But how can a good show be complete without your husband, Jingmin?"
As he spoke, his gaze slowly shifted to Yun Yang, who was leaning against the corner of the wall, and he raised an eyebrow slightly.
As if suddenly remembering something,
The tone became more tentative and playful:
"Is this Jingmin's lover?"
He turned his head and asked a junior member beside him, his gaze sharp.
The younger man immediately nodded in agreement, his tone full of certainty:
