Celebration
Yoriichi was here, and Yoriichi was there too. Muzan found himself surrounded by Yoriichi from all sides. The feeling of being slashed was so real. His blood splattered on the ground. That familiar blade of light, burning with the flames of the sun, had pierced through his chest, severed his head, and shattered his brain and heart.
Sun Breathing is the Demon King's nightmare!
"Ugh—" A sharp pain exploded within his body, and his cells turned to ashes amidst screams. The process of death stretched on endlessly, and he could clearly feel each cell disintegrating, burning, and turning into nothingness under the breath of the sun.
The darkness brought a sense of death, and then he found himself standing on the prison van.
"Let me go!"
"Stop it!"
Muzan was devastated. He couldn't accept dying again and again; he hated the feeling of death the most.
Luna and the others positioned themselves in a six-pointed star formation, guarding several exits. The illusion array could only destroy Muzan's spirit; once he lost his senses, he would be able to escape quickly, at which point they would still need to wear him down.
However, Luna deliberately chose the time to be captured. Now there are less than two hours until dawn. She can only hope that the illusion will last longer so that everyone has enough time to recover.
Several Pillars held swords, but they were all surrounded by members of the Hidden Brigade bandaging their wounds and even helping them change their plate armor. Fighting the Upper Moons was quite taxing for the Pillars; several had broken bones, but they were unwilling to step back at such a time.
Painkillers and a deck should also be prepared, and we should also replenish fluids to prevent dehydration from excessive sweating.
Everyone's eyes turned to Luna, filled with immense gratitude. If it weren't for her illusion array, they wouldn't have been able to rest, and by dawn, there might have been very few of them left.
Once the screams ceased and the illusion stopped, a loud bang was heard, the illusion array was destroyed, and everyone was able to see the Ghost King inside. His face was contorted with rage and fury, clearly fed up with being killed. His body crackled with lightning, his demonic fangs were particularly prominent, and he even began to drool as he looked at the humans.
"Be careful, he's probably starving." Tamayo was the first to speak, nervously clenching her fists. She could be a shield in the fight against Muzan.
"Wait a minute!" Luna was the first to rush forward, setting an example for everyone.
Moonlight poured down, and the sun-shaped sword in the girl's hand drew a bright arc of light. Wherever the blade touched, the cold strikes shattered like jade fragments. Her eyes were almost indifferently calm; once she activated her Sharingan, it was nearly impossible to discern her emotions.
Before Muzan's surging whips could even touch her, they were severed layer by layer by the sharp moon blade. The broken tentacles fell like withered branches and dissipated into ashes in the air.
But she recovered in an instant. Her toes stepped on the newly grown thorns, and she leaped into the air, unleashing a massive crescent moon that swept across the ground. Sometimes it was as slender and sharp as a new moon, and at other times as powerful and raging as a full moon, making Muzan's regeneration speed somewhat unable to keep up.
"It's not 8, it's 16." The Stone Pillar Himejima quickly realized that Muzan had a backup plan for a sneak attack hidden underground.
"I can't see it at all." Shinazugawa, the Wind Pillar, gritted his teeth, once again feeling the difference between ordinary people and magicians.
The others: "..."
An ordinary person?
You're just an ordinary person who's a ghost!
Luna unleashed her full Moon Breathing power, hoping to use Muzan, that bastard, to deliver a satisfactory answer to her studies. Although she actually fought Kokushibo first, she didn't have the energy to surpass him at the time because she was focused on capturing the Demon King.
Well, it's obvious... it's impossible in the short term, so we can only ask Muzan for help.
At that moment, screams and roars came from behind. Himejima realized that Muzan had ordered the demons to attack fiercely, so he sent Kocho and Tomioka with Tanjiro to the back to help everyone. They could spare some manpower for the time being. Giyu and Tanjiro's breathing was abnormal, obviously due to broken ribs, and they were likely to be in trouble if they faced Muzan now.
The fan-shaped battlefield erupted in unison, with Luna tethered to Muzan like a kite, guiding the shouts of battle behind her. Before long, several Pillars came to take their place, as they all needed to adapt to Muzan's attack speed, range, and power; they couldn't expect Luna to hold out for two hours alone.
Human blood and demon blood splattered on the ground. A long sword sliced off a demon's head, but the demon's claws were still restless. Two battlefields blazed across the shattered earth, everyone fighting with all their might.
-somewhere-
In the large, empty mansion, Kagaya Ubuyashiki lay on the bedding, covered with a blanket as if asleep. But looking up, one could see that his body was wrapped in bandages, and a Yushiro talisman was stuck to his forehead, clearly indicating that he was inspecting the scene.
The tremors and explosions at the scene caused some of the disturbance to reach them. Blood seeped from Ubuyashiki's nostrils, but she showed no intention of stopping to watch the battle.
His gentle wife wiped away the blood beside him as he and his daughters awaited the dawn. Once today was over, the curse of the Ubuyashiki family would be broken.
As long as...dawn breaks.
Ubuyashiki's fingers gripped the blanket tightly, blood seeping from his skin. Before, he could only see battle in cold, hard casualty figures; now, witnessing it firsthand was a different kind of cruelty. Watching his teammates get covered in blood, seeing each of them fight, the emotions in his heart were indescribable.
Coughing up blood, wiping away blood, lying down—the cycle repeated itself. Tears welled in his eyes; now, without needing commands, he could finally release his emotions. He was helped up and coughed up more blood. More blood gushed from the corner of his mouth; he could only pray silently.
[May it get light soon!]
Finally, the morning light fell. Umashikiya, clutching the blankets, coughed and tears streamed down his face. He wanted to speak, but his mouth was choked with blood; he tried to get up, but he had no strength.
“Sound…woo…”
"I understand, Lord Yaozai, please calm down." Tianyin supported him with tears in her eyes, her face also covered in tears: Dawn had broken, and everything was over.
Cheers erupted on the battlefield; all the survivors welcomed the dawn. The moment they witnessed Muzan being destroyed by the sun, many of the participants fainted.
Luna, her body reeking of burnt flesh, was injected with a wisteria flower potion and lay on a stretcher with her eyes closed. That bastard Muzan retaliated; she was blasted by lightning, her hair even catching fire. If she hadn't been an Uchiha, skilled in playing with fire, she would have had her head shaved.
Damn it, the others were also electrocuted, why didn't their hair catch fire?
What's wrong? Are they discriminating against outsiders?
Everything that followed went smoothly; the Demon Slayer Corps quickly provided treatment and cleaned up the mess. Luna only lay in bed for a day before heading straight to the sword-forging village. Her greatsword had been broken by Muzan, and she wanted to make it as sturdy as possible this time.
The sword and wand should be separate; the sword is too flimsy and would hinder the use of the wand. Two swords are needed, one of which doesn't need to be made of cinnabar or anything like that. A set of kitchen utensils is also needed: an iron pot, a spatula, a cleaver, and a boning knife.
Everyone knows Luna is a foreigner, and she needs some weapons for self-defense when she's out and about, so they all enthusiastically help her forge wands and other sharp tools. They're ending their sword-making business and need to move towards civilian use; kitchen utensils, farm tools, and the like are all good things to them.
Knowing she was preparing to leave, Ubuyashiki sent over a reward. A box each of gold and jewels, dazzlingly bright. She loved these gaudy, sparkly things. She immediately thanked the little Ubuyashiki girl and offered her some chocolate from the ninja world's stash.
She stayed in the forging village for another half month, and after testing the finished product for several days, the raven came to find her to attend the celebration banquet.
The thousand-year curse was lifted, and Kagaya Ubuyashiki, like a withered tree sprouting new life, was able to sit up briefly. Everyone was overjoyed, freely expressing their happiness. The air was warmed by the charcoal fire, mingling with the sweet aroma of rice wine and the enticing scent of food.
Sanemi Shinazugawa stood with one foot on a sake barrel, drinking with Gyomei Himejima, their rough earthenware bowls clattering together. His neck was flushed, and his voice was eight octaves louder than usual.
"Brother, don't drink so much!" The younger brother, Xuanmi, tried to stop him. He had never known that his older brother was a heavy drinker.
The colossal rock pillar, drinking heartily while tears streamed down its face, murmured, "To be able to drink with you all in this world is truly...a blessing from heaven..."
Xuanmi glanced at his master, a dark line appearing on his forehead, looking even weaker and more helpless.
In a corner of the courtyard, Giyu Tomioka sat quietly by the veranda, a glass of untouched sake in his hand. Someone greeted him with a smile, but he merely shook his head slightly, his gaze sweeping over the noisy crowd before finally settling on the inseparable pair of figures.
"It's so delicious!"
There are more here.
Obanai Iguro was watching Kanroji happily eat, a white snake coiled around his wrist, hissing and flicking its tongue, while the corners of Iguro's mouth, hidden beneath his bandages, held an undisguised, slightly upturned smile.
A faint warmth flickered in Giyu Tomioka's eyes as he gazed at the blue sky, savoring the tranquility of the moment. He hesitated, pondering how to offer his blessings to the Serpent Pillar, with whom he had a good relationship.
"Stop!" Luna pressed down on his shoulder and sighed helplessly, "If you see someone like that, stay as far away as possible, or they might unleash snakes that will bite you."
"Why?"
Luna was speechless and too lazy to bother with this idiot with low emotional intelligence: "You'll be disliked!"
Giyu Tomioka: "..."
(⊙o⊙)…?
I wasn't disliked!
Kyojuro Rengoku's voice boomed, his golden-red hair gleaming: "Mmm! Delicious! Rice is hard-earned, and so is life! Everyone, please enjoy!"
"Hahaha!"
Tokito Muichiro sat on a rooftop a little further away, looking up at the white clouds. His eyes, which had once been empty and blank, now reflected a brand new world.
Shinobu Kocho, with her usual serene smile, moved through the crowd, offering her slightly tipsy companions tea to help them sober up. Only her steps were much lighter than usual; the lingering gloom between her brows had transformed into a sigh of relief, dissipating into joy. When she gazed silently at Kanae's portrait, a touch of comforting tenderness crept into her smile.
The liveliest group was undoubtedly the team members, especially the boar-headed boy and Zenitsu. The two of them together were like 500 ducks, creating quite a commotion. The Sound Hashira, Uzui Tengen, with his three wives, still garnered countless envious and jealous glances. Having developed a strong bond during training, he easily became one of the team members.
Luna had a hearty meal and even packed some ingredients to take home before heading to Ubuyashiki to say goodbye. The Demon Slayer Corps had benefited greatly; they had made money and become stronger, so it was time to continue their journey.
