Gu Chen brought back several different documents over several days in a row. He even rode his bicycle to his boss's house to get the documents while the boss was away at home.
"Isn't your wife a high school student? Why do you need these materials?" Although the leader was curious, he still handed the materials to him.
Gu Chen casually said, "I'm pregnant, so I'm looking for something to do to pass the time. It's cold outside, so I want to read a book."
The weather wasn't very good when we went back. It was pitch black outside at six o'clock in the evening, and it started to rain.
Afraid of getting the documents wet, Gu Chen tucked them under his lower abdomen, using his body to shield himself from the rain. The faster he rode the bicycle, the heavier the rain became, until he finally had to ride under a tree and slow down.

He took the towel and began to wipe the water off his head; his clothes were also soaked.
At this moment, Jiang Shufen came out of the kitchen with chicken soup. Seeing this, she quickly said, "There's hot water boiling on the stove. Go take a bath. Just wiping yourself isn't enough; you'll easily catch a cold. I'll make you some ginger soup to warm you up."
At this moment, Gu Chen's well-defined fingers were red from the cold. Lin Yuxi suddenly pressed his hand down, "Go take a shower, I'll get you some clothes, don't bother drying yourself."
"I'll go find my clothes myself. You sit down and have some chicken soup first. I'll be done in a bit." Gu Chen didn't let her do anything. He went to the bedroom and found clothes and a towel. There was hot water on the stove. He poured it into a bucket, added some cold water, and then he could take a bath.
Lin Yuxi sat in the chair, and Jiang Shufen went to the kitchen to make ginger soup for Gu Chen as expected.
"Next time, tell him to bring an umbrella when he goes out. The weather is unpredictable; it might rain anytime. No matter how strong a body is, it can't withstand getting soaked like that."
She was born to worry, and although she kept nagging, she proved with her actions that she loved both of her children very much.
Gu Chen's shoes, which were left at the door, were covered in mud and soaked. Lin Yuxi carried them inside and placed them next to the coal stove to dry.
The man showered quickly, finishing in no time, and even washed his underwear while he was at it.
"Mom, go sit down first, I'll cook." Gu Chen took the spatula, stood in the kitchen, and started cooking.
Several months pregnant, Lin Yuxi was already able to eat oily and fatty foods and had gained about 20 pounds, but she still looked very thin.
"In a few days, I'll carve some practice problems for you to do, so we can see if your grades have slipped since you graduated." Lin Yuxi was, after all, a student at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences in the future, and she was confident in her grades.
That evening, she began to look at the materials with Gu Chen.
There was a headrest pillow on the bedside table. Lin Yuxi leaned on Gu Chen's shoulder and circled some of the more important documents inside.
"We only need to make rubbings of the important parts of this material, and we need to return it to the owner when we're done using it." Lin Yuxi handed him the scroll after reading it.
“No need. The boss said he had no use for it and it’s just been collecting dust at home. You’re bored, so you can keep it for as long as you want,” Gu Chen said. “No need to rush to return it to him. I’ve already paid him.”
Lin Yuxi blinked.
"Ahem, you can consider it as if you bought it, so now you are the owner of these documents."
