Jiang Yiyu held her hand tightly and whispered, "If I say it's you, do you believe me?"
"I don't believe it."
Jiang Yiyu smiled bitterly: "I knew it."
"But I believe that person will be me in the future."
Song Shengsheng spoke calmly. She raised her hand and touched his head: "Jiang Yiyu, no matter what our relationship was like in the past, from now on I take it seriously. I hope you do too. It would be great if we could have a family in the future. Right?"
The two stood quietly for a while, and Song Shengsheng looked at his watch: "We must go to the cafeteria, otherwise we won't be able to buy even a bowl of soup. Let's go, dear Winnie, stop thinking about it."
Jiang Yiyu was led by Song Shengsheng into the light on the other side of the road. Under the sidelong glances of passers-by, he walked into the cafeteria with confidence.
It was past dinner time, and there were not many people in the cafeteria. Jiang Yiyu had planned to find a seat in the corner to wait for her, but Song Shengsheng insisted on taking him to buy food together. He followed her to the window and heard her lean in and ask, "What do you want to eat? There aren't many choices right now."
"Just eat the same as you."
Song Shengsheng nodded and said to the auntie, "I want one serving of shredded pork with fish flavor, one serving of broccoli, stir-fried lettuce, and the braised eggplant."
"Two of the same?"
"Yes, but only one portion of rice and takeaway."
Song Shengsheng swiped the card. As the lunch lady packed their food, she looked curiously through the glass window at Jiang Yiyu standing behind her. She thought he was a student working part-time at the convenience store across from the cafeteria. She couldn't help but say with concern, "Hey kid, your part-time job is over, and you haven't changed your clothes yet! You're not even warm enough."
Song Shengsheng smiled and said, "The place to return the clothes is a bit far. It would be troublesome if I didn't take them off and carry them with me. I might as well just wear them. After we buy food, we'll go return them."
The auntie who served the food smiled and handed over the takeaway bag.
Jiang Yi Yu stretched out his hand to take it, but his little bear paws couldn't distinguish the fingers, and he couldn't pick it up after a long time. The aunt serving the food was amused by him, and hurriedly picked up the bag, stretched out the handle, and put it on his hand.
"Thank you." Jiang Yiyu said, then pulled Song Shengsheng and walked out of the cafeteria.
The two of them walked slowly on the small path in the campus. Song Shengsheng was still holding the colorful balloons in her hand. From time to time, one or two bicycles passed by. They looked at the students who were talking and laughing in groups, taking walks or running at night, and listened to the rustling of the treetops in the wind.
Jiang Yiyu hasn't felt such a peaceful life for a long time.
