The moment the car door opened, a cool evening breeze with the smell of dust blew in my face, bringing with it an inexplicable sense of relief after surviving a disaster and a sense of relief after a rebellion.
Song Shengsheng still remembers that when Song Ming first went abroad to study, he became obsessed with racing cars and motorcycles.
Once, when he was speeding at night, he crashed into a mountain next to a bend and had a serious car accident. He almost lost his life. When he called back home, Wang Jing and Song Qing were scared. They booked plane tickets overnight and rushed over.
From then on, Wang Jing no longer allowed Song Ming to do such dangerous things, and he was not allowed to touch racing cars and motorcycles. By the way, she also transferred an assistant from an overseas branch to keep an eye on him almost 24 hours a day.
Under surveillance, Song Ming kept a low profile and behaved himself for half a year. After begging for a long time, Wang Jing finally withdrew the assistant who was watching him. The car accident also left him with a problem where every time it rained, his bones all over his body would ache.
So, taking this as a lesson, although Song Shengsheng likes the thrill brought by extreme sports, she has never dared to try anything too extreme. She has not even made up her mind to get a driver's license since she graduated from high school.
Perhaps it was the rebellious nature that had been suppressed deep down in her bones, or perhaps it was the pursuit of excitement, but after tasting the sweetness, she became uncontrollably excited. She looked at Jiang Yiyu with bright eyes and said, "Let's run again!"
Jiang Yiyu smiled and rubbed her head: "Okay, let's go."
After a few games, the car stopped at the finish line again. Song Shengsheng got out of the car, lifted the hair scattered on her shoulders, watched Jiang Yiyu throw the car keys to the staff, and chatted a few more times.
She walked towards him and took his arm. Jiang Yiyu said hello to the staff and then led her towards the exit of the racetrack: "How is it? Are you happy?"
"Yeah, I'm super happy, but you absolutely can't tell anyone about what happened tonight. If my mom knew we were going racing tonight, she would be furious."
"Then I won't tell you. I'll take you to a good place next."
"Where are we going? Aren't we going home yet?"
"It's not even daybreak yet, why are you going home? You slept all afternoon, haven't you gotten enough sleep?"
Song Shengsheng looked up at him, then leaned closer to him and whispered, "This is my first time staying out all night. It's very refreshing!"
Jiang Yiyu smiled dotingly and pinched her nose: "Being with me doesn't count as staying out all night, but if I'm not here and you still dare to do this, I'll be angrier than your mother."
After leaving the racetrack, Jiang Yiyu did not rush to drive, but took Song Shengsheng to climb the small hill behind the racetrack.
They stood on the top of the mountain. Jiang Yiyu reached out and pushed away the branches and leaves that blocked Song Shengsheng's view. The night view of the city appeared before them, with neon lights flashing. Under the lights, the city seemed to be shrouded in a layer of glowing mist. The rivers meandered eastward, the water sparkling, reflecting the bright moon in the sky.
The evening breeze blew gently, and the leaves beside me swayed in the wind, making rustling sounds.
It would be even better if there were no mosquitoes.
After a moment of silence, Song Shengsheng smiled and said, "In this situation, do you know what's the best thing to do?"
"What?" Jiang Yiyu reached out and pulled her into his arms, hugged her from behind, bent down, and rested his chin on her shoulder.
Song Shengsheng held his hand and said, "If you don't want to murder me and push me off the mountain, then the most suitable thing to do is propose to me. The stars in the sky and most of the city will be our witnesses. How romantic."
"My dear, can you please stop thinking about strange things and murder all the time? Isn't it better to obey the law?"
Song Shengsheng smiled: "Then it's the latter. Do you have any plans?" She turned her head to look at him. Jiang Yiyu was stunned for a moment, turned his face away, and coughed twice: "Look at what you said. Now that I have come to this, if I don't have any plans, won't it seem particularly ignorant?"
"Don't force yourself. I don't want you to think I'm blackmailing you." She squeezed Jiang Yiyu's hand. Jiang Yiyu coughed a few more times and retracted his arm. After a while, he hesitated and clenched his fist, then put his arm around her waist again: "How about you close your eyes for a while? I tell you to open them, and then you open them."
"Okay." Song Shengsheng closed her eyes obediently. Jiang Yiyu held her left hand and gently put the ring on her ring finger. Under the light of the street lamp beside them, the small diamond on the ring shone with dazzling light.
Song Shengsheng raised the corners of her mouth. After hearing Jiang Yiyu say that she could open her eyes, she pretended to be calm, but in fact she couldn't wait to raise her hand and look at the light again and again. The more she looked, the more satisfied she became.
This ring is almost identical to the wedding ring style she described to Jiang Yiyu when they were lying in the hospital bed together. It is a plain ring with a small diamond, very low-key.
"It's really beautiful." Song Shengsheng laughed and said, "What about yours? I want to see yours!"
Jiang Yiyu let her go and walked to her side. He touched the bridge of his nose inexplicably shyly: "Well, don't worry, I haven't finished sending it yet."
Song Shengsheng looked at him and raised his eyebrows slightly: "Anything else?"
Jiang Yiyu pursed his lips and reached into his pocket again in a panic. He looked at Song Shengsheng, hesitated for a moment, then took out his fist, handed it to her, and slowly unfolded it: "The ring I just put on you is the one you like, but the diamond is too small, not sincere enough. And I see that when other people propose, the diamonds have to be as big as possible. If others have it, you should have it too, so I prepared another one."
Song Shengsheng looked at the exaggerated ring with a large diamond lying in his palm. His eyelids twitched and he couldn't help laughing out loud: "Jiang Yiyu, where did you buy this ring?"
