Chapter 80 Arrival in Yong'an City

It turned out that after catching the rabbit, Luo Tianhe couldn't wait to gather firewood and even started a fire.

Unexpectedly, Yiming found the little rabbit cute and absolutely refused to roast it and eat it.

Seeing the old man and the child locked in a stalemate, Zhiwan quickly went over to smooth things over.

"Dad, we have plenty of food in the car. Yiming likes this little rabbit, so let's not eat it."

“I don’t mind not eating it, but didn’t you hear? He’s going to raise this rabbit. There are already four of us in this carriage, and we don’t know how long we’ll be traveling. And now he wants to raise a rabbit? This rabbit smells terrible, and we have to take care of its food and water. How can we do that?”

Yiming pouted, clearly not wanting to be outdone.

"Grandpa is mean. The little rabbit is so pitiful. You not only want to eat it, but you also want to throw it away."

Seeing that her father seemed to dislike Yiming bringing the little rabbit along, Zhiwan gave a helpless wry smile, then bent down, reached out and touched the little rabbit in Yiming's arms, and softly comforted it:

"Yiming, little bunnies are cute, but if someone took you away now and you never saw your mother again, would you be happy?"

Yiming immediately shook his head vigorously.

"No, I want to stay with my mother forever and never leave her."

"Yes, that's what the little rabbit thinks too. If you take it away, it will never see its mother again in its life, and its mother will search for it everywhere like crazy. Don't you think it and its mother are both very pitiful?"

Luo Zhiwan's words made Yiming blink hard a few times, and he then nodded.

“Mom, you’re right. Let’s release the little rabbit. Even if we can’t take it with us, we can’t let Grandpa eat it.”

Upon hearing this, Luo Tianhe gave a rather helpless, bitter smile.

“Your grandfather hasn’t gone years without meat, he wouldn’t be craving it like that. Release the rabbit, I’ll go put out the fire.”

Thinking about how he hadn't even managed to eat the rabbit, and how he had to put out the fire he'd started for nothing, Luo Tianhe sighed helplessly.

Luo Zhiwan led Yiming a few steps into the grove before Yiming reluctantly released the little rabbit, saying to it as he did so:

'Little rabbit, go find your mother. Be careful in the future, and don't let anyone catch you!'

Watching the little rabbit run away, Yiming, looking aggrieved, threw himself into Zhiwan's arms, his eyes red as he muttered...

"Mommy, will the little rabbit get lost? Will it be able to find its parents?"

Yes, it will.

She raised her hand and gently stroked his forehead.

"It will find its way home."

"What about Yiming? Will he never find his father in this lifetime?"

Seeing that the child had brought up the matter again, she reluctantly picked him up from the ground and, as she walked towards the carriage, gently comforted him:

"Yiming, didn't your mother say that your father is dead?"

"Mother, are you lying to me? I saw that my Uncle Chen had a jade pendant, just like yours. Is that a token of love he left for you?"

"no."

She quickly raised her voice to deny it.

“Yiming, there are many jade pendants like this. You may have mistaken one for another. Alright, didn’t your mother tell you not to think about that Uncle Chen anymore? He is the Crown Prince, unlike us ordinary people.”

"But he was very good to me. During the two days I stayed at his house, he always played with me and bought me lots of delicious food."

“Yiming, don’t let some petty gains blind you. Even if he’s nice to you, it’s only because you’re a child and he’s kind-hearted and taking care of you. He’s not your father, really not.”

"oh."

Seeing that his mother was angry, Yiming could only pout and say "oh" before falling silent.

After the family ate something, they quickly set off.

On the way, they passed through two small cities, but they did not stop. Instead, they continued south. Since they were going to leave, they wanted to go as far as possible and say goodbye to the past completely.

Ten days later

They finally saw a relatively large city: Yong'an City.

Standing outside the city, Zhiwan looked up at the three large characters on the city wall and said to Jiawang:

What do you think of this place?

Jiawang looked in the direction she was looking and nodded.

“That’s great. This is the only relatively large city we’ve traveled south from Phoenix. Sister, let’s go into town and take a look.”

"good."

After Zhiwan agreed, she turned around and said to the carriage:

"Father, Mother, we've arrived in Yong'an City. It looks quite large; let's go inside and take a look."

Luo Tianhe yawned, lifted the sedan curtain and glanced outside, then nodded.

"Fine, you decide!"

Seeing that her father had no objections, Zhiwan drove the carriage into the city.

The gate of Yong'an City looks very grand, and the city itself is bustling with activity.

The main street looked very lively, but they drove their horse-drawn carriage directly to a quieter-looking street.

"Father, let's find an inn to stay in first, then check if this place is suitable for opening a clinic, and then we can look into shops!"

Without a second thought, Luo Tianhe answered directly:

'Okay, you can decide everything.'

It seems that Luo Tianhe has really decided to relinquish his responsibilities and let Zhiwan make all the decisions.

Her parents' trust made her feel both flattered and burdened with responsibility.

She stopped the carriage in front of a shop called Yong'an Inn, whereupon the waiter came to greet her.

"Miss, would you like to stay at an inn?"

"Yes, six people, adults and children, need four rooms."

Seeing that a customer had arrived, the waiter hurriedly nodded in agreement.

"Alright, please take your important items and come inside. I'll tie the carriage to the backyard for you."

"Alright, the horse must be tired after all this walking. Give it some good hay."
