I had made an appointment with the hospital beforehand, so when I arrived I found my attending physician. They were fine when they first arrived, but some people at the hospital noticed Jin Yining.
The checkup followed the standard procedure, but since it was Jin Yining's first time accompanying Shang Ning to a prenatal checkup, everything seemed new and exciting to her, especially when she saw the baby in her belly; she didn't even blink.
"The baby is very lively," the doctor said with a smile. "In a few more months, the baby will be able to come out and meet you."
Jin Yining held Shang Ning's hand and kissed the back of it.
The doctor also knew Jin Yining, after all, his daughter was a fan of celebrities, and there were many of his photos at home. Before, people said that this girl was pregnant and that the big star didn't want her anymore, and that she always came to prenatal check-ups alone. Now it seems that most of the things on the internet can't be trusted.
Shang Ning asked the doctor to print out the baby's photo. She hadn't printed one before because she wanted to wait for Jin Yining to come back before printing the baby's first photo.
After receiving the photos and thanking the doctor, Jin Yining received a call from her mother, who told her about the results of her prenatal checkup and that she was planning to go back home now, as she would go see the wedding dress that afternoon.
Jin Yining handed the phone to Shang Ning, who took it with curiosity. "Mom," Shang Ning called out as she got out of bed. Before she could even bend down, Jin Yining had already bent down to help her put on her shoes. "She's at the hospital. Let's go home first. Teacher Jin has an appointment for this afternoon, and she just happened to meet with Teacher Qin and Xia Tian. It's okay, I'm not tired. It's rare for Teacher Jin to be back and in such a good mood right now, so we can't spoil her fun."
As Shang Ning spoke, Jin Yining pinched her ankle, which made Shang Ning even happier.
"Okay, I know. I'll go back with Teacher Jin tonight." Shang Ning replied to Lian Jingyan, clearly feeling that Lian Jingyan had become like her own mother over the past few months.
Shang Ning ended the call with Lian Jingyan, then handed the phone to Jin Yining. "Going back tonight?"
Jin Yining helped her out of bed and confirmed what had just happened. "After trying on the wedding dress, we're supposed to have dinner with Lao Qin and the others. How will we have time to go back?"
"Then go back and tell your grandfather that I don't care."
Jin Yining: "..."
After thanking her, Jin Yining carried the inspection bag and helped Shang Ning out. "Where will you be staying tonight?"
Shang Ning paused for a moment, "Right, we're going to stay there tonight."
Jin Yining: "..."
Professor Shang's IQ has been worrying since she became pregnant.
It seems we need to keep a close eye on them; what if they get kidnapped?
When Jin Yining and the others came out, there were many more people at the hospital. Fortunately, there were bodyguards to stop them, so Jin Yining did not encounter too much obstruction and got into the car with Shang Ning.
Shang Ning looked back at the people outside, "Teacher Jin's charm is as undiminished as ever."
“Teacher Jin is a father now, so he’s lost his charm. He’ll be fine in a while.” Jin Yining started the car and left the hospital. “Then let’s go to your mother’s place this morning. I probably won’t have time this afternoon.”
Shang Ning raised her hand and pressed down on Jin Yining's arm. "It seems like I've arranged a lot of things for Teacher Jin. Why is Teacher Jin suddenly being so down-to-earth, coming along with me to visit relatives?"
"Why does this sound so vulgar coming from you, Professor Shang? How long has it been since you last read a book?" Jin Yining chuckled.
Shang Ning rolled her eyes at him and looked outside. "My biggest wish right now is for them to figure out their feelings for each other as soon as possible, then I'll..."
"Shut up." Jin Yining sensed something was off about her tone, so she simply told her to shut up.
