Jin Yining opened the umbrella, shielding Shang Ning with one hand as she led her into the car. Ning Sang scoffed, jumped in, and told someone to drive.
The car was completely surrounded by darkness, and Shang Ning was feeling a bit cold. Jin Yining took off his coat and wrapped it around her, keeping her hands warm.
Ning Sang sat to the side watching the two people over there, especially Jin Yining, a clean-cut rich kid who was calm and humble. Whether in the film and television industry or among the elders around him, everyone spoke highly of him.
But how long can this deep affection last?
In the Jin family, there is not a single person who is loyal to one another.
Shang Ning looked at the woman opposite him, puffed out her cheeks, and grabbed Jin Yining's arm, "If you look at her again, I'll eat her up."
Jin Yining couldn't help but laugh and tightened her clothes.
Ning Sang leaned against the car wall, arms crossed, and finally looked at Shang Ning. "Little girl, you're still alive and well after all this?"
Shang Ning: "I'm doing very well, and all my friends like me."
"Those who like you would love to team up with outsiders to kill you."
Shang Ning: "..."
"With your life like this, doesn't anyone want to beat you to death?"
"Yes, many, but they are all dead."
Shang Ning was speechless. "Taking action is just a sign of low intelligence."
"Not taking action means you're not smart enough or capable enough."
Shang Ning: "..."
What does this woman do?
Jin Yining's ears twitched. He kept a close eye on the commotion outside, but his hands never relaxed, always protecting Shang Ning.
"Auntie, we haven't figured out anything from our experiment, so arresting me won't help. Look at Cheng Jin trying to arrest me back then, it didn't work either, did it?" Shang Ning blinked, trying to act cute.
"Him? You're comparing me to an ant?" Ning Sang exclaimed, straightening her clothes. "Besides, you're worth much more than him. I wouldn't even look at your lousy experiments."
Shang Ning turned to look at Jin Yining, pointed at Ning Sang and complained, "She scolded me for making my experiments worthless."
"It's valuable, it's valuable," Jin Yining reassured him.
Ning Sang gave a clear response: I can't bear to look!
Who are you being so clingy to!
"What's the point of making money from a project that will hardly cost you anything in the future? Are you trying to play the saint by pretending to be a saint or is the universe awarding you a medal or something?"
"We don't know if the universe awards medals, but at least in your final moments, the life you saw when you looked back wasn't a blind wing, but a garden full of spring colors," Jin Yining said calmly, which was a rebuttal to Ning Sang.
Hearing this, Ning Sang's laughter became even more sarcastic. She glanced down at the time and said, "It's New Year's Eve."
It's Lunar New Year's Eve in China.
Shang Ning and Jin Yining exchanged a glance. It was the New Year.
However, this New Year was somewhat unusual.
Shang Ning and Jin Yining held hands tightly; at least for this New Year, they were together.
"Jin Yining, there's something I've always wanted to tell you..."
"It's best not to say anything you don't have time to say. Saying it is just a waste of breath. We've arrived." Ning Sang said, and jumped out of the car as the door opened.
"This woman is probably going through menopause." Shang Ning wanted to hit someone, the kind of direct punch.
Jin Yining got out of the car, caught Shang Ning and carried her down, then squinted slightly as she looked around.
"An underwater world?" Shang Ning looked around. This was an underwater passage, with small fish swimming around.
Ning Sang entered the password and temporarily shut down all the mechanisms inside. "You can think of it that way, but of course it would be better if you kept quiet; you talk too much."
