Chen Yiyang stood up, his legs unsteady, and pointed at Shang Ning, saying, "You're just relying on Jin Yining's affection for you, aren't you? What do you have? What do you have left without Jin Yining?"
"Professor Chen, please watch your tone," He Zhiyan said in a deep voice, clearly displeased.
"Oh, and you too, and you too." Chen Yiyang pushed away Shang Ning, who was trying to help her up. "And you, do you even know what it means to dislike someone? Do you even know what scientific spirit is? You..."
Chen Yiyang kept pointing at He Zhiyan and urging him to get closer, but He Zhiyan raised his hand and grabbed his wrist. "Professor Chen, you've had too much to drink."
Shang Ning had never seen Chen Yiyang like this before. There was basically only one possibility for this to happen: he had been severely traumatized.
Because of being fired?
After all, someone like Chen Yiyang wouldn't allow the word "expulsion" to remain in her life.
If that's the reason, then it does have something to do with her.
Shang Ning turned around and helped him up, "Chen Yiyang, are you out of your mind to drink so much?"
"Life or death? Who cares about my life? My mom, Jin Yining, my dad, both of my dads, they all think you're great, great, great, why don't you go be their daughter?" Chen Yiyang said, pushing Shang Ning again.
As Shang Ning stumbled backward, she grabbed the table and instinctively reached out to protect her stomach.
He Zhiyan glanced at him and then reached out to grasp Chen Yiyang's arm.
After regaining his balance, Shang Ning looked at Chen Yiyang and said, "You've had too much to drink. Let's talk when you're sober."
Chen Yiyang fell asleep after making a fuss for a while. Shang Ning bent down and picked up all the wine bottles on the ground, then threw them into the trash can. She was thinking about whether to tell Jin Yining about this, but then she remembered that he was still on set, so she sighed and decided to let her handle it herself.
After Shang Ning and He Zhiyan cleaned up the room, Chen Yiyang confirmed that he was asleep.
The two took the trash out and left it by the door, waiting for the hotel staff to come and clean it up. Shang Ning leaned against the door, preventing it from closing, while watching He Zhiyan, who was about to leave, and wondered, "Has she been like this lately?"
He Zhiyan nodded; at least that's how it's been since he saw Chen Yiyang arrive.
"Perhaps this incident was too much of a blow to her. You should know that she was expelled, right?"
Yes, Jin Yining had told her about it.
I guess it's because he used to be treated like a god, and he's not used to this sudden change. Thinking about it, he realized that he only had to lie around like a corpse for a week back then, which was actually a pretty good reaction.
"You go back first, I'll keep watch here." Shang Ning looked inside and figured he wouldn't wake up anytime soon.
He Zhiyan nodded, "Then call me if anything happens."
"Okay." Shang Ning watched He Zhiyan leave before turning back to her hotel room. She went over and opened the window, otherwise the smell of alcohol inside would be unbearable.
After tidying up the room, Shang Ning sat down on the sofa and looked at Chen Yiyang on the bed. She could understand Chen Yiyang, and she understood him from personal experience.
Shang Ning looked at the untouched bottles of beer on the bedside table, reached out and picked up one, but didn't open it.
“For a while, I really enjoyed drinking. I even wanted to drink myself to death, but what good would drinking myself to death do?” Shang Ning said with a self-deprecating laugh, throwing the bottle away and looking up at the ceiling. “Chen Yiyang, when you lose everything, you’ll find that none of it matters at all, because you still have your family.”
