Chapter 41 Travel

"Peacock, I will die if I see its eyes." Snape explained to Peacock.

Snape forgot which book he had read in which book that there was a rumor: Salazar had once left a basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets.

He had thought it was just a story, someone so immature as to write their own conjecture in a book in the library, because no one had been able to find the Chamber of Secrets. Hogwarts had been established for a thousand years, with countless chambers and secret passages. To this day, no one knew how many there were and what was inside.

The basilisk was so huge, and its scent so obvious, that Peacock had to go through the wall through a secret passage to find it, letting Snape know that the story was true.

"No one can do anything to the Basilisk except those controlled by Parseltongue." Snape touched the Basilisk's head.

"You can learn it. I will teach you." Peacock can speak Parseltongue, and she can speak any language accurately.

"Okay, it seems I have to work harder." Snape agreed.

The sky was gloomy outside, and Snape began to study hard.

Because of the birthday party, Sirius and Regulus' relationship seemed to be a little better. They went back together this Christmas, and when they came back their relationship dropped to freezing point again.

Peacock couldn't understand this kind of control relationship based on blood ties. She said doubtfully, "They just gave birth to Sirius, but Sirius doesn't belong to them. Sirius belongs to Sirius."

"Because they cannot suppress their desire to control the life that is born out of them, and cannot help but hate the fact that they give their emotions to them without getting the return they desire." Snape explained their problem.

Peacock nodded thoughtfully: "I understand the latter part. If I give my feelings but don't get any return, I will be very sad."

But she could never understand the first sentence, because her mother was always tolerant of her nature.

Snape smiled: "But will you hate it?"

Peacock shook his head: "No, but I will let it go. Since I can't get it after trying hard, I have to give up. I can't force it and I have to force him too."

Fairies would not do such a thing to cause trouble.

A few days later, Regulus asked Snape the same question. He was too tired to understand it all. Finally, when he had a conflict with Sirius at school and they were caught fighting by Professor McGonagall, he was deducted points and put in detention. He sat on the ground, wet all over, and asked Snape if he had done something wrong.

"Since you asked, you already have the answer." Snape was holding his Parseltongue voice and had a headache. He looked up and saw Regulus sitting on the ground, looking at the family emblem, wet.

It was unclear whether the water that kept flowing down her face was tears or water that Sirius had poured with magic.

But it should be water, because Regulus didn't cry because of it.

"What should I do?" Regulus asked lightly.

"It's up to you to decide what to do. This has never been just your problem." Snape didn't want to get involved in their family affairs.

Regulus nodded blankly: "...Yes, thank you for your help, Senior."

Snape looked at his lost expression, used magic to control him to float to the bathroom, and soaked him in a bathtub filled with slightly hot water.

"Senior, it's a little hot." Regulus said.

"Well, otherwise you will get sick easily." Snape put Regulus down, cleaned up the water stains on the ground and went out. He was going to the Forbidden Forest to accompany Crystal and study at the same time.

After going out, Snape met Sirius, who was sitting by the Black Lake with his three friends next to him. Snape passed by with an expressionless face.

Seeing that Sirius also had bruises on his face, Snape could see that Regulus was also very angry.

They seemed to have taken their resentment towards Regulus out on Snape, and did not speak to him again until the holidays.

Snape: I feel like things are suddenly much quieter around me. I hope it stays that way.

He had been extremely busy learning Parseltongue lately, and he couldn't understand how the hissing sound produced different tones, and he felt like his tongue was about to get tied.

By the time school was on vacation, Snape had only learned some daily expressions, but he had almost mastered the goblin language he had learned for inspiration, and felt he could pass the CET-4 exam.

If only there were four levels of goblin language.

Peacock thought for a while and decided not to make things difficult for Snape. She decided to make things difficult for herself and see if she could turn her language talent into magic and teach it to Snape.

Lucius recently took a long vacation and went traveling with Narcissa. He sent a lot of photos to Snape, but Snape didn't want to throw them away. After collecting them, he found that there were more photos of the couple in the album than of him.

Snape: ...

However, inspired by Lucius, Snape came up with a new idea.

"Peacock, do you want to go out for a trip during the holidays?" Thanks to Lucius, Snape is not short of money at all. He knows that Peacock will go back sooner or later, because Peacock has never hidden this from him.

So he wanted to take Peacock out to see both the magical world and the human world. If she arrived in a new world and only saw a small place like Spinner's End and Hogwarts, it would be a pity, wouldn't it?

"The timing is just right now. I know magic and can protect myself. I don't have to prepare for the OWL exam for the time being, and I have enough money to support our travel." Snape asked.

"Yes! Let's go to the human world first, and then we can go to the magical world with Mr. Newt!" Peacock and Newt chatted happily. Although Newt didn't know what Peacock looked like, he knew that he was communicating with a girl named Peacock who had a unique understanding of magical creatures.
