Riddle was instantly coaxed into accepting the bouquet of black lilies. The unhappiness he felt previously due to the imbalance in his mood completely dissipated. He took the lilies apart and put them in a vase, which then connected to Snape's two-way mirror.
"I received the lilies you sent me." Riddle let the two-way mirror float in the air and fiddled with the lilies in the vase.
"I thought you would come over, and I wanted to give it to you personally." Snape had just come out of the bathroom. He used magic to dry his hair and continued:
"It seems I overthought it. In the end, I can only give it to you in the form of an owl."
Riddle wondered if Snape liked him too, otherwise why would he want to give him flowers?
He discovered the flower language of the black lily, which signified love, symbolizing the impulse of love. So, Snape probably liked him too, right? He just hadn't realized it yet.
Is this what is called loving without knowing it?
Snape didn't know what Riddle was thinking. Not to mention the meaning of the black lily, in addition to the impulse of love, it also means curse and arrogance.
And the flowers were prepared by Peacock, not for Riddle.
He gave Riddle flowers only because Peacock spotted Riddle. Given his height, it was unlikely that he could stand in the crowd without being noticed.
Riddle was standing out at the train station. He thought Riddle would come over, but he seemed to be worried about Lily's presence so he left directly.
This made Snape feel pretty good. He didn't want to involve Lily in their affairs. Riddle's sense of propriety made Snape like him more, so he didn't mind doing something to appease Riddle.
Of course, although he wanted to coax Riddle, he really didn't know how to do it.
He remembered that Riddle was in a very happy mood when he received his back-to-school bouquet last time, so he followed suit and gave Riddle this year's back-to-school bouquet as well.
It seems to still be effective.
It’s so easy to coax.
Riddle did not deny Snape's statement that he had not seen him. He certainly would not admit that he was there at the time, which would have been embarrassing for him. He simply said, "Do you want me to see you off?"
Of course not, Snape thought, he can get on the train by himself, so why should someone come to see him off?
Of course, Snape didn't say this to Riddle. He just said, "I don't know why, but I always feel like you'll be there."
We are in perfect harmony!
Riddle felt that he was too humble, otherwise why would such a simple sentence make him feel so happy?
Regulus stood quietly at the door, not because he wanted to be quiet, but because he was stunned by shock.
It seemed that because he was in the bathroom, Snape, who would usually cast a soundproofing spell, did not do so this time. It didn't matter if he didn't cast one, as he didn't think Snape's chatting would affect him.
But Snape valued privacy and was considerate, so he would usually set up a soundproofing charm. However, in the past, at this time, Regulus had just started taking a bath and there was already a soundproofing charm in the bathroom, so Snape didn't expect to set up another one.
Regulus was originally planning to take a bath, but he remembered that he had forgotten to take out his newly bought bath ball. As soon as he opened the door, he heard the familiar voice.
He remembered hearing it once before, but he had just heard it not long ago and took on a task -
Take out the Ravenclaw's Diadem from the Room of Requirement.
Now he heard this familiar voice that frightened him again in Snape's two-way mirror.
He thought of what Lucius had told him during the holidays, asking him to pay attention to the boundaries when making friends with Snape and not to be too close, as well as the news that Voldemort had someone he liked.
Regulus was struck by lightning.
Finally, he quietly closed the door and drowned himself in the bathtub.
I seem to have discovered a secret.
Gurgle gurgle gurgle...
Regulus wanted to turn himself into a mermaid and stay under the water forever so that he would not have to know this secret. Why let him know it? He can't bear it!
The boss whom I admire and fear likes the senior whom I admire very much?
No more.
Regulus felt like he was about to break. He admitted that he had a vague affection for Snape before. If you think about it, living next to you is a clean, nice-smelling, handsome, intelligent, self-disciplined, strong, and confident person...
When someone is perfect in every aspect and even a very sharp-tongued personality adds to his luster, you will also have a good impression of such a person, especially when you spend ten months a year together, who wouldn't be moved?
You will see his sleeping face in the morning and he will say good night to you at night. Usually he will sit at the table in soft home clothes, holding a cup of tea and reading a book, or teach you magic in a calm and slightly magnetic voice.
You can't see him during holidays, but he will use owls to send you many gifts that suit your taste. The short separation at that time will only make the meeting more sweet.
They have been like this for five years!
To say that I wasn't moved at all would be a lie.
But why!
Regulus drowned himself in the water, and when he came out, he had drowned all his hazy thoughts.
He couldn't do it. He knew that in his current situation, he had no chance of winning against Voldemort, both in terms of strength and Snape's love for them.
When Regulus came out of the bathroom at the usual time, Snape had already hung up the two-way mirror and was reading a book at the table. He didn't like reading while lying on the bed. He thought that the bed was a place to rest. Lying on it to read would make him feel strange sometimes when he went to sleep.
