After killing the water ghost, Wang Han took out a set of gray cloth clothes from his backpack to replace his armor. He casually tied his long hair behind his head and headed towards the town not far away.
Since Wang Han didn't know what kind of world he would appear in next, he prepared clothes and supplies from different eras and put them in his backpack in the modernized Three Kingdoms world.
After entering the town, Wang Han found an inn, gave it two silver dollars, and stayed there under the guidance of the waiter. He didn't ask the waiter about Uncle Nine or the mortuary, since asking such questions late at night, especially since Uncle Nine was a figure in this town who proved the existence of ghosts, and he was alone, might be a bit scary.

The next day at noon, with the sun high in the sky, Wang Han asked the waiter and then arrived at the gate of the mortuary, knocking on the door.
Since the mortuary was a business dealing in unclean things, even though Uncle Nine was quite famous and respected in the town, people still avoided it. So the mortuary was located on the outskirts of the town, and there was only one narrow path leading to it.
"Wencai, a guest has arrived. Go open the door." A middle-aged man's voice rang out from inside the mortuary.
Soon, the gates of the mortuary opened, and a very mature-looking man asked Wang Han, "Who are you looking for?"
“I’m looking for Uncle Nine, the ghost hunter,” Wang Han said with a smile.
Wen Cai shouted loudly to the middle-aged man lying on a recliner in the mortuary, "Master, it's for you."
Upon hearing that the person was looking for him, Uncle Nine immediately got up from his recliner and shouted at Wen Cai, "You're looking for me? Hurry up and invite the guest in."
"Please come in quickly." After being scolded by Uncle Jiu, Wen Cai quickly stepped aside and said to Wang Han.
"Thank you." Wang Han said his thanks and followed Wen Cai into the mortuary. As he walked toward Uncle Jiu, he looked around at the layout of the mortuary.
The mortuary was not small; it had a large courtyard, two large houses, two small houses, and a small garden enclosed by a fence, where several chickens were kept. There was also a medicine rack by the wall, on which some chopped medicinal herbs were drying in a winnowing basket.
While Wang Han was looking around the mortuary, Uncle Jiu also carefully examined him. Seeing that Wang Han was unfamiliar and had a peculiar hairstyle, he guessed that Wang Han was from out of town and probably came to talk business with him.
"My name is Wang Han. This gentleman must be Uncle Jiu." Wang Han approached Uncle Jiu, clasped his hands in greeting, and said, "I have heard that Uncle Jiu is incredibly brave and can catch ghosts and fight zombies."
"It's just an empty reputation. I've only learned some Maoshan Taoist arts; I don't deserve the title of 'divine warrior'," Uncle Nine said modestly, then asked, "What business does this gentleman have with me?"
Wang Han said with a smile, "I am very curious about ghosts and Maoshan magic, so I would like to stay at the mortuary for a while to see for myself."
"This..." Uncle Nine hesitated upon hearing this. He guessed at Wang Han's purpose, thinking that Wang Han was probably being haunted by evil spirits and had come to seek refuge. Or perhaps he wanted to steal knowledge or become an apprentice.
Seeing Uncle Jiu hesitate, Wang Han took out five silver dollars and handed them over, saying with a smile, "I won't stay for free."
Seeing the silver dollars in Wang Han's hand, Uncle Nine hesitated for a moment, but still refused, saying, "This isn't about money. If you have any questions about ghosts or monsters, I can help you solve them."
"I'm just curious about ghosts and monsters," Wang Han said with a smile. Seeing that Uncle Jiu hesitated, he took out five more silver dollars and said, "I'm really curious about these ghosts and monsters and Uncle Jiu's Maoshan magic. I wonder if I could stay here and witness Uncle Jiu catching ghosts and fighting zombies."
"Master." Wencai was also tempted; ten silver dollars was no small sum.
"Go inside." Uncle Nine glared at Wen Cai. Wang Han took out another five silver dollars, and Uncle Nine was even more tempted. The mortuary did indeed need this money to be properly repaired, but he was still hesitant. He believed that you get what you pay for.
Seeing that Uncle Jiu was even more tempted and still hesitating, Wang Han took out another ten silver dollars and said with a smile, "Uncle Jiu's catching ghosts and zombies is also a benefit to the people. I think there are some places in this mortuary that need to be repaired. How about I consider these twenty silver dollars as my donation to the mortuary for the repairs?"
"You can stay here then." Uncle Jiu didn't hesitate any longer and reached out to take the silver dollar from Wang Han's hand.
"Thank you, Uncle Jiu," Wang Han said with a smile.
Uncle Jiu shouted loudly into the house, "Wencai, prepare a place for Mr. Wang Han to stay."
"Okay, Master." Upon hearing this, Wencai, who had been glared into the house, immediately ran out happily. He knew that his master must have received the money. Ten silver dollars! That would improve his life.
"Wencai, remember to kill a chicken tonight," Uncle Jiu instructed Wencai. Then he said to Wang Han, "Mr. Wang Han, please, I'll show you around the mortuary."
"We'll be living together from now on, so there's no need to be so polite," Wang Han said with a smile.
Uncle Nine led Wang Han on a tour of the mortuary. The mortuary wasn't very large; Uncle Nine mainly showed Wang Han around, telling him which places he couldn't touch and which places he couldn't go. For example, the place where zombies were kept and the room where ghosts were imprisoned. Wang Han memorized everything. As for Uncle Nine's warning that it would be troublesome if these ghosts and zombies escaped, Wang Han didn't take it seriously at all. He thought that even if they all ran away at once, they wouldn't be able to escape his grasp.
"Where is Mr. Wang Han from?" Uncle Jiu asked as he introduced Wang Han to the place.
“A homeless person who used to do some business, but now that business is failing, does it even matter where he is from?” Wang Han shook his head and said.
"Sigh. From now on, just treat the mortuary as your own home." Uncle Nine sighed and said, lamenting the chaos of the times with warlords and the large number of homeless people.
"Thank you, Uncle Jiu," Wang Han said with a smile. "I still have some savings from my previous business ventures, enough for my future living expenses. If you need anything in the future, just ask me."
Uncle Nine asked, "What business does Mr. Wang Han plan to pursue in the future?"
"I learned some medical skills before, and I believe I can handle common illnesses. From now on, I will treat patients and save lives, and I won't charge much. Just enough to cover the costs of food and other necessities will be enough," Wang Han said with a smile. "If I have too much money, I'll attract the attention of petty people, and I don't have the energy to deal with them."
Hearing this, Uncle Jiu nodded and said, "That's good, it'll bring you more good fortune. I also know some medicine and can treat some sprains and bruises. We'll talk about it later, and when Wencai and the others come back, we'll go out and do some shopping together. See what you want to buy, and when we get back, I'll have Wencai find you a place to dry your herbs." He thought to himself that Wang Han had probably been tricked by a villain.
“Okay.” Wang Han immediately nodded in agreement. He said, “From now on, Uncle Jiu, please don’t call me ‘Mr.’, just call me Wang Han.”
