Chapter 11 Buyeo
Jian An Ning rested in the main hall for a day before returning to Yuxuan Peak.
When she came back, she was filled with a heavy atmosphere, and her pretty face looked like a ball of crumpled paper. Her disciples' hearts were in their throats, wondering if something difficult had happened.
"This is very unfortunate news," Jian An Ning announced sadly, "Since our Yuxuan Peak has the lowest number of missions, the Great Elder has forced us to take on the mission."
"Go to Fuyu and investigate the monster riot."
She cleared her throat, looked at the disciples with different expressions, and continued, "This time we will act as a group. Go back and pack up. We will set off tomorrow."
After she finished speaking, she looked at Fan Qingyue who was about to leave and said, "You are from Buyeo, right?"
Fan Qingyue nodded, not knowing what expression he had on his face.
Jian Anning patted his shoulder and said, "Then the important task of leading the way is left to you!"
Fan Qingyue gave a wry smile and replied, "But I haven't been back for over a hundred years."
"It's okay," Jian An Ning said with curved eyes, "Master will help you."
The bright sunlight fell on Yuxuan Peak. Jiang Tan waited for Fan Qingyue for a while by the side of the path.
Fan Qingyue smiled at her.
His junior sister has always seemed to be aloof, and it was not until he discovered that Jiang Tan had also noticed his master's occasional abnormality that he was able to say a few words to her.
"Are you from the Fan family of Buyeo?" Jiang Tan paused and said.
Fan Qingyue nodded. There was nothing to deny. There were quite a few people from aristocratic families in Qingyun Sect.
"You volunteered to join Yuxuan Peak." Jiang Tan said in an affirmative tone.
There's nothing to deny about this, Fan Qingyue thought, and then he saw Jiang Tan suddenly look up and ask him, "Do you still want to go back to Buyeo?"
Fan Qingyue was stunned for a moment, then heard Jiang Tan continue, "Can you still go back to Buyeo?"
He suddenly laughed and replied, "I left Buyeo of my own accord."
Jiang Tan didn't seem to expect Fan Qingyue's answer. She nodded slightly and quickened her pace to leave. However, she still heard Fan Qingyue's voice behind her.
"Junior sister, you didn't leave Yingzhou voluntarily, did you?"
Jiang Tan seemed to have walked far away, and Fan Qingyue did not hear her answer.
Elsewhere, in the Yunxiao Palace, the Great Elder bowed respectfully to Yun Zhongzi and asked with a hint of confusion, "Why does the Sect Master seem so lenient towards Yuxuan Peak?"
When he came here earlier, he saw Jian An Ning rolling on the ground. She didn't look like a Nascent Soul cultivator at all, and he had never seen Jian An Ning truly use the power that matched that of a Nascent Soul cultivator.
Her cultivation level was all based on what she said, so the Great Elder had an unreliable guess in his mind.
But Yun Zhongzi just shook his head and said, "No."
"Your cultivation is close to becoming a god. Have you ever thought about why the Qingyun Sect was founded?"
The Great Elder was slightly startled and shook his head.
People say that the Qingyun Sect has existed since ancient times, and its founder also lived for many years.
However, even a cultivator in the Spirit Transformation Stage only has a lifespan of three thousand years, but the existence of the Qingyun Sect's leader far exceeds three thousand years.
The closer his cultivation came to the state of transformation into a god, the more he could sense the unfathomable nature of Yun Zhongzi.
The Great Elder was thinking about it when he heard Yun Zhongzi say, "It's because of Jian Anning."
The next day, Jian Anning and her disciples left Floating Mountain.
Qingyun Sect is in Zhongzhou, and Fuyu is in the west. To get from Zhongzhou to Fuyu, one has to pass through a bottomless canyon.
The canyon runs through all the borders between Fuyu and Zhongzhou, as if it were the sequelae left behind by someone forcibly piecing together two unrelated pieces of land long ago.
And above that canyon, all spells will be ineffective.
Jian Anning stood at the edge of the canyon, feeling the strong wind blowing upwards. She turned around and asked Fan Qingyue, "You were still a mortal before coming to Qingyun Sect. How did you get through this canyon?"
Fan Qingyue lowered his head slightly and said, "I wasn't alone when I came here. The Fan family at least helped me across this canyon."
Jane Anning was a little surprised.
There are quite a few children from aristocratic families in the Qingyun Sect. Generally, they cannot make it in the aristocratic families because they are unable to start the family inheritance or their bloodline is too thin, so they go out to try to find a way to make a living.
Since they are insignificant children, the aristocratic families will not waste precious resources on them, so people like Jiang Tan and Ye Qingzhou have to go through dangerous situations on their own.
"Then how do we get there?" Jian An Ning had a headache.
This canyon is not very wide, only about one person's length wide. Standing on the canyon, you can even easily see the scenery on the other side.
The only difficulty is that spells will fail above the canyon, which means it is impossible to fly over directly.
"You can go down to the bottom of the canyon and then climb to the other side." Fan Qingyue reminded.
Jian Anning touched his chin and said, "The bottom of the canyon will imprison spiritual energy, but there are other things there."
She could sense danger before she even went down.
Jian Anning raised her hand and handed a few talismans to her disciples, saying, "These talismans don't require spiritual power. You just need to tear them into pieces to use them. Use them for self-defense."
Then he jumped down into the canyon without hesitation, and went down to the bottom of the canyon by following the uneven traces between the rock walls.
There is a river flowing slowly at the bottom of the canyon. Its source cannot be seen, and no one knows where it will flow to. Because it is rarely visited, the river has no name.
Some plants tried to grow by the river, but because the canyon was extremely deep and shrouded in fog, sunlight could not reach it, and they died.
There are some trees across the river, which look like a small bridge built by ancient people to cross the river. However, perhaps because of its age, it is covered with moss.
Fan Qingyue walked this road, and although a hundred years have passed, he still remembers some of the instructions.
"Don't touch the river water. There are monsters hiding at the bottom of the valley, so don't make too much noise."
Jiang Tan glanced at him for some reason.
Jian Anning said cautiously in a low voice, "Then let's quietly cross the river on the single-plank bridge and then climb back to the other side."
Naturally, no one objected to Jane Anning's words, and she took the lead, took a deep breath, and stepped onto the moss-covered wooden bridge.
She tried to steady herself, but all the spiritual power in her body was forcibly restrained, so that she was now just an ordinary person.
Ordinary people with poor balance.
So, even though she tried so hard, she couldn't prevent the ending of falling to the ground with a "clang".
In an instant, smoke and dust rose up, and mud stained Jane Anning's clothes, making her look a little embarrassed.
Her disciples wanted to help her up.
However, Jian Anning still lay on the ground with a look of despair, one ear pressed to the ground, and said, "Something is coming."
Fan Qingyue's heart suddenly tightened.
The bottom of the valley imprisoned everyone's spiritual power. They were just mortals, but from what he knew, the monsters at the bottom of the valley were not like that.
There was a deafening roar, and a sheep's hoof landed in front of them.
It was a monster with an extremely strange appearance.
It has the body of a cow, the horns of a deer, the tail of a horse and the hooves of a sheep.
It looked like someone had forced these things together and given them life.
The monster came with great force and went straight for Lu Fei, who seemed to be the weakest.
Lu Fei was not afraid at all. He pulled out a dagger from his sleeve, dodged the attack of the monster, and stabbed the monster in the abdomen with the sword.
However, Lu Fei was stunned for a moment. He did not feel the iron piercing his soft abdomen, and his attack did not seem to even scratch the monster's skin.
He secretly thought that something was wrong and said to the others, "Run."
But why would Fan Qingyue and Jiang Tan abandon him and Jian An Ning and run away?
I saw that the two of them took out the talismans that Jian An Ning gave them and tore them into pieces.
The sudden glow of magic light directly penetrated the fog at the bottom of the valley, and the powerful spiritual power hit the monster before the restraining force took effect.
The monster howled in extreme pain, its fur turned charred black and emitted a choking and pungent smell.
The murderous intent in the monster's eyes became even stronger. Without giving anyone a chance to react, it suddenly turned around and rushed directly towards Lu Fei behind it.
"Junior brother!"
Lu Fei had no chance to dodge at all. This monster, which he had no idea what it was, seemed to be most hostile to him.
And he had no idea why, it was even his first time here.
He lowered his eyes slightly, wondering if it was because he was the weakest of everyone present?
Because he is weak, it is impossible for him to protect anyone he wants to protect.
Inexplicable emotions suddenly surged into his heart, and the "nail" that was inserted directly into his sea of consciousness vibrated as if it sensed something.
Lu Fei felt a splitting headache and his body seemed to be torn apart by an unknown existence. He could hardly hold the dagger in his hand.
The metal fell to the ground with a clang, and his eyes flashed with blood red. The monster was already right in front of him.
The other three people whose spiritual power was imprisoned were unable to help. Lu Fei was extremely sure that he would most likely die here, along with the nail in his sea of consciousness.
However, an arrow broke through the air and pierced directly into the monster's eyes, and then a large spark burst out.
He was threatened by sporadic sparks nearby, and the monster actually ran away in fear.
Lu Fei looked in the direction of the arrow with confusion, and saw a man wearing complicated and gorgeous clothes, carrying a bucket of arrows on his back, and holding a bow and arrow in his hand that was more gorgeous than his clothes.
Everyone's eyes were on him.
He looked quite young, and his expression seemed somewhat confused. He looked at them and said, "When did so many people appear in this valley?"
Fan Qingyue was the first to react. He thanked him first, then took a few steps forward. Looking at the pattern on his sleeve, he seemed to be hesitant to speak. He asked, "Are you from the Fan family?"
