Chapter 19 Sister Song, please do me a favor!
"Senior Sister Song".
Upon seeing Song Zhixu approach, Qiu Yuan was the first to speak.
The university she attended as an exchange student in Country H was the same university Song Ji-seok graduated from.
Qiu Yuan met Song Zhixu once last year when she gave a speech at the school.
Song Zhixu smiled gently, "Did the project pass?"
"I passed, thanks to my senior's guidance," Qiu Yuan replied with a smile.
As the two were talking, a staff member from the Chamber of Commerce came over and said to Song Zhixu, "President Song, it's almost time."
Song Zhixu nodded, smiled at Tang Ran and Miao Tiantian who hadn't yet greeted her, and then left with the staff.
After she left, several people at the next table immediately went to Qiu Yuan's side and started chatting with her politely.
Elites like Song Zhixu are always the center of attention wherever they go, and are the kind of people most people in this venue want to befriend.
But given her status and position, not everyone dares to directly approach Song Zhixu and strike up a conversation.
They were not far away and overheard Song Zhixu and Qiu Yuan's conversation. They thought that by exchanging pleasantries with Qiu Yuan, they might see if they could get in touch with Song Zhixu.
Qiu Yuan saw through these people's intentions and thought to herself that this was a huge misunderstanding.
She and Song Zhixu were just classmates who met once, and they didn't have a deep relationship at all.
Qiu Yuan wanted to explain, but the other person hadn't explicitly said that they were chatting with her because of Song Zhixu.
Qiu Yuan had no choice but to politely agree.
At that moment, she was unaware that until the end of the banquet, people kept coming up to chat with her, so that she didn't get to say more than a few words to Tang Ran throughout the entire banquet.
Following the inauguration ceremony of the new board members, the networking dinner officially began.
Halfway through the banquet, the banquet hall was filled with the mixed smells of food and alcohol.
Miao Tiantian had disappeared, so Tang Ran put down her cup and prepared to go outside for some fresh air.
She took two steps outside, frowned slightly, slowed her pace, and observed the brown crystal wall opposite her out of the corner of her eye.
She noticed a blurry figure following her at a distance that was neither too close nor too far.
Tang Ran took two steps, head bowed in thought, a cold smile playing on her lips.
She turned and walked towards the side of the banquet hall.
After leaving the house, Tang Ran glanced back casually.
Like her, the people behind her also changed direction and followed her this way.
Tang Ran quickened her pace slightly and walked towards the other end of the corridor.
Tang Ran had been to this banquet hall at the Lizhi Hotel several times. There was a dressing room on the west side of the banquet hall on the first floor, which was used for guests to touch up their makeup or take a short break.
As the wine flowed freely and people exchanged toasts, the distance between them shortened, creating a golden moment for social interaction.
The dressing room is in a rather remote location, and there's a high probability that no one will be there at this time. It's the perfect place to deal with a vicious dog that its owner has let out and is biting people.
The banquet hall was bustling with noise, but the corridor was nearly deserted. High heels sank into the thick carpet without making a sound.
With a gentle push of her fingertips, Tang Ran's gaze swept around the room, stopping when it landed on the sofa next to the changing room.
On the orange leather sofa, Song Zhixu's long legs were crossed, his right hand resting on the armrest of the sofa, his head propped up, his eyebrows and eyes slightly lowered, leaning lightly against the backrest, his lazy posture carrying a hint of weariness.
The fitted champagne-colored gown softly hugged the body's curves, cinching at the waist to create an elegant and flowing silhouette.
Her other hand rested on her knee, and beneath her slender, white fingertips, the hem of her skirt flowed like water around her knees, revealing a pair of slightly muscular calves.
The heels of the high heels lightly touched the carpet, the Achilles tendons slightly taut, and further up, the porcelain-white ankles were slender, easily encircled with one hand.
Realizing what she had been thinking, Tang Ran paused, her ears burning slightly.
Hearing the door open, Song Zhixu turned her head and looked over, her gaze meeting Tang Ran's.
A hint of surprise flashed in his tired eyes, but it was quickly replaced by gentleness.
Realizing that she had disturbed her rest by suddenly opening the door, Tang Ran felt a little embarrassed.
I hesitated for a moment, wondering whether to go in.
She originally thought no one would be in the dressing room, which is why she came here.
But Tang Ran felt a little unwilling to just leave like this.
If she doesn't teach those who follow a lesson, even more vicious dogs will pounce on her and disgust her in the future.
While she hesitated, Song Zhixu had already stood up from the sofa, picked up his phone, and walked towards the door.
She could tell that Tang Ran wanted to use the dressing room but was too embarrassed to ask, so she decided to leave first.
As Song Zhixu walked to the opposite side of Tang Ran, she was about to speak when her wrist was unexpectedly placed into a pair of soft, warm palms.
Tang Ran gripped Song Zhixu's wrist tightly, her puppy-dog eyes gazing expectantly at Song Zhixu, "Sister Song, can you do me a favor?"
Her voice was already soft, but when she added a coquettish tone, it became even softer and sweeter. The last "ya" sound was slightly raised, as if it had a tilde, gently rippling into people's hearts.
Not sensing Song Zhixu's resistance, Tang Ran gave a sweet smile and, without waiting for her reply, led the people inside.
Song Zhixu lowered her eyes, her gaze falling on Tang Ran's hand that was holding hers.
At the far end of the room, against the wall, was a row of partitioned dressing rooms, with dark red velvet curtains hanging to the floor.
Tang Ran walked to the first cubicle, pulled the curtain completely shut, and then led Song Zhixu across the second cubicle into the third cubicle.
She drew the curtain halfway to block their bodies before letting go of Song Zhixu's hand.
"I……"
Song Zhixu opened his mouth as if to say something, but Tang Ran quickly raised her hand to make a shushing gesture.
She blinked and lowered her voice, "Could you please stay here for a little while, Sister Song?"
The changing room was not very big to begin with. A leather bench took up most of the space, and the area that could be covered by half a curtain and where people could hide was only a quarter of the original space, barely enough for two people to stand.
It was indeed a bit unfair to Song Zhixu to hide here with her.
Song Zhixu nodded and didn't say anything more.
Tang Ran's eyes crinkled into a smile. She turned around, turned on her phone's camera, and quietly pulled back the velvet curtain a crack, facing the doorway.
Seeing her movements, Song Zhixu raised her hand and tapped the Bluetooth earphone she was wearing.
Before Tang Ran came in, she was on the phone with Assistant Jiang. What she was about to say wasn't to Tang Ran, but to tell Assistant Jiang to contact her later.
The two were so close that Song Zhixu could clearly smell the sweet fragrance on Tang Ran's body.
Just like when we met at the bar that day.
On the other side of the city.
Assistant Jiang was focused on reporting her work when she suddenly heard a sweet voice say, "Sister Song, can you do me a favor?"
She paused for a moment.
But as a professional assistant, Assistant Jiang acted as if she hadn't heard him and continued reporting on her work.
Ten seconds later, the phone signal suddenly dropped.
Assistant Jiang paused for a moment while moving the mouse.
His gaze fell on the phone beside him, his brows furrowing in a troubled expression.
My mind raced, trying to figure out if the call had been accidentally dropped or if my boss had hung up on me.
Should we reply or not?
Assistant Jiang felt this was a major issue concerning his future career.
Fortunately, two seconds later, her phone lit up with a message from her boss, telling her to contact him later.
Assistant Jiang breathed a huge sigh of relief.
Lizhi Hotel.
Just as Tang Ran pointed her phone's camera at the door, the dressing room door was opened a crack.
Two seconds later, the door was gently pulled open.
A furtive figure crept in.
The person who came in was Li Lu, the sycophantic sister who tipped off Sun Jiaojiao at the banquet.
The Li family had business dealings with Sheng Tang. Li Lu had been a member of Sun Jiaojiao's clique since junior high school and had done a lot of bullying with classmates along with Sun Jiaojiao.
Li Lu carefully observed the surroundings and noticed that only one cubicle had its curtain drawn. A glint of shrewdness appeared in her eyes.
She tiptoed to the front of the cubicle and took out a bottle of yellow liquid from her bag.
The series of movements were smooth and fluid, clearly indicating that this wasn't the first time they had done it.
She unscrewed the bottle cap, and the unpleasant smell made her unconsciously show a disgusted expression. She pinched her nose and held the bottle up to the gap in the curtain.
"What are you doing?"
The sudden sound startled Li Lu, who looked behind her in surprise.
Then Tang Ran came out from the innermost cubicle.
"you!"
Shouldn't she be in the cubicle in front of her? How come she's there?
Seeing the phone Tang Ran was holding pointing at her, Li Lu's face changed drastically, her eyes filled with horror, "You took pictures of everything?"
"Yes, do you want to see it for yourself?"
Tang Ran raised her phone, her smile smug.
