Chapter 331 Was this really part of the plan?

For a moment, Lin Mo almost burst into tears, but when he heard the laughter of the divine servants, his sadness subsided.

His eyes were dry, his heart hardened like iron, yearning for the high fever to take away his last tears. Ever since his second fall from the pinnacle of power, they had bound him tightly to a horse like cargo, making him travel with the horse as if carrying a heavy burden.

Day after day, the servants' treatment of him changed again. They no longer tied him to the horse's back, but instead chained him to the hindquarters, making him run alongside the horse. Whenever he was exhausted, he could only watch helplessly as the horse's back receded, unable to catch up.

"Host, how does this feel?" Usk asked in a mocking tone. "Is there still that vanity and sense of accomplishment from thinking you're a god?"

He burst into laughter, his voice sharp and high-pitched, as if mocking Lin Mo's downfall. "Oh, are you starting to doubt the concept of God now? Are you feeling lost and confused about that so-called divine power?"

If he still had his hands, he might have grabbed Usk by the throat without hesitation and made him pay for his mockery. But now, he could only grit his teeth and silently endure the humiliation and pain.

System, Zhao Wushi, what exactly do you want to do?

Is this also part of your plan?

His limbs, numb from prolonged restraint, were now oblivious to his surroundings. His senses were consumed only by the excruciating pain inflicted by that phantom hand.

Lin Mo's severed hand still dangled before his eyes. Usk roughly tied it with a rope and hung it around Lin Mo's neck. As the horse lurched forward, Lin Mo's consciousness gradually blurred, and the severed hand, like a broken doll, swayed helplessly against his chest.

His right eye was swollen from the previous battle, and Ares's attack had caused the wound to become infected and inflamed, causing him excruciating pain. However, what tormented him even more was his severed hand. Blood and pus continuously seeped from the stump, and with each step the horse took, the phantom-like hand twitched!

His throat felt like it was being rubbed with sandpaper, so dry it was almost cracking. Lin Mo could only survive on water. One day, a servant handed him a cup of liquid, which he eagerly drank down in one gulp. His impatient manner drew a burst of unrestrained laughter from those around him, the sounds as piercing as needles.

"Regent, can you taste the liquid?" Usk asked with a hint of mockery.

Lin Mo swallowed hastily because he was thirsty, without savoring it, but then he stubbornly frowned and squeezed the liquid from the corner of his mouth. "Neither water nor wine..." he muttered softly, unwilling to delve into what it was.

Time flies, and Lin Mo, escorted by the divine servants, staggered northward.

Is it three days or five days? Lin Mo's thoughts were in turmoil.

On a chilly dawn, an indescribable fervor suddenly surged through my weary body.

He gripped the hilt of Usk's sword tightly with his left hand and pulled it out with all his might. "Let them end me," a resolute thought surged within Lin Mo. "Let them kill me," he thought, "I want to die in battle, weapon in hand."

Unfortunately, it didn't work!

Even without injuries, these divine servants are far more powerful than Lin Mo, let alone now!

A servant of the god hopped around on one foot, and Lin Mo couldn't hit him no matter what he did. Finally, he lost his balance and stumbled forward.

Usk circled around a few times, dodging the attack, while the servants of the gods watched Lin Mo and his performance with laughter.

Finally, Lin Mo tripped over the stone and fell to his knees. Usk jumped over and punched him hard on the forehead!

The chief servant of the god stepped forward to teach him a lesson and kicked the longsword away from his weak fingers.

“It’s quite interesting, Your Highness the Regent,” he said coldly, “but remember, this is the last time. Otherwise, I will not only cut off one of your hands or one of your feet, but I will make you pay a much worse price.”

Lin Mo lay down, looking at the clear sky at dawn, trying to ignore the constant pain in his right arm.

"The sky is beautiful! Exceptionally beautiful, the rising sun symbolizing new life! A sight never before seen!" Lin Mo said with great distress, "How can dawn be so beautiful?"

"Oh, you still have the mind to admire the scenery?" Usk laughed.

"Just want to see the dawn before I die!" Lin Mo smiled. "Kill me, I won't go with you!"

"Want to die?" the leading servant said coldly. "We won't let you die comfortably!"

"Damn it, what are you guys trying to do? Where are you taking me?" Lin Mo cursed.

"The far north!" the leading divine servant replied, "the holy city our master built for us..."
