Chapter 356 The Truth?

To Lin Mo's even greater surprise, after saying these words, the man said he was sleepy and then fell asleep.

On that stormy night, they spent a long, damp, and cold time side by side.

The rain poured down, as if it would engulf the entire world in an endless curtain of rain, until late at night when the torrential downpour finally subsided.

However, at this moment, Zhao Zhilan suddenly stood up, her eyes flashing with an unusual light, as if she were being drawn by an irresistible force. She frantically tried to break free from the cave's confinement and rush into the vast rainy night.

Seeing this, Lin Mo could only hug Zhao Zhilan tightly, trying to soothe her restless heart with his body heat and strength.

In Lin Mo's arms, Zhao Zhilan gradually calmed down.

She only fell asleep after the fire had burned down to embers.

The soft moonlight spilled onto the damp trees, draping them in a silver veil of varying shades, and giving the originally gray mountain peaks a pure white sheen.

In the stillness of the night, owls hooted long, drawn-out calls in the darkness, silently flitting among the pine trees like spirits of the night. On the hillside, several pale goats moved slowly in the moonlight, their silhouettes appearing and disappearing in the night, adding to the air of mystery.

Lin Mo quietly closed his eyes, letting himself immerse himself in the midnight atmosphere, feeling the surrounding air and sounds. His soul seemed to be soothed by the tranquil night, and all his weariness and troubles vanished in that moment.

As the morning light filtered through the treetops and fell upon Lin Mo's face, he slowly opened his eyes. He discovered that the fire from the previous night had gone out, and the stranger was nowhere to be seen.

However, some of the food he left behind was neatly wrapped in a green and white cloth and lay there quietly.

Lin Mo picked up the food and found it consisted of some baked flatbreads. Some flatbreads were mixed with sweet fruit, while others exuded the fragrance of wild plums.

He ate half of it and gave the other half to Zhao Zhilan.

"The truth..." Lin Mo couldn't help but mutter these two words to himself while feeding Zhao Zhilan.

That day, the mountain path they were traveling on was quite flat, with pebbles and weeds underfoot, making it relatively easy to walk. At noon, the sun finally broke free from the clouds and shone brightly on the forest.

Zhao Zhilan sat in the basket on Lin Mo's back, feeling the breeze on her cheeks and listening to the birds chirping in the forest. She felt content and almost fell asleep in the swaying.

The basket swayed gently with Lin Mo's steps, like a cradle, bringing a sense of security. He walked steadily, humming an unknown tune as he went. The melody was melodious, seemingly blending into the mountains and forests, calming Zhao Zhilan's heart as well.

Suddenly, Lin Mo stopped and gently touched Zhao Zhilan's arm, his voice tinged with excitement: "Look, Zhilan!" He stretched out his hand and pointed to the vast sky, "An eagle, there's an eagle!"

It spread its gray wings and soared freely in the sky. It glided motionless in the wind, as if dancing with it, its posture elegant and composed.

Lin Mo stared at it as it spiraled upwards, wondering, "I wonder what it feels like to soar like this."

"And also, can high-level gods fly?"

Various images flashed through his mind: could those majestic and mysterious gods really transform into spirits, quietly enter the body of an eagle, perfectly merge with its body, and then spread their wings and soar into the sky?

"Wait!" Lin Mo suddenly exclaimed in surprise.

"I remember, wasn't the servant of the gods I first met using the body of a rat to come and attack me?"

At that moment, the eagle was circling overhead, its sharp gaze seemingly piercing through the clouds, shooting directly at me and Lin Mo beside me. Each flap of its wings seemed to carry an indescribable power, inspiring awe in us.

However, just as we were watching it intently, the eagle suddenly changed direction and disappeared into the distant horizon like a bolt of lightning. That sudden departure left us with a strange sense of unease.

"How could such strange behavior be from an eagle in nature?"

"A divine servant, it must be an eagle possessed by a divine servant!"

And in the distance at this moment.

The eagle flew to a group of divine servants and said in an eerie voice, "Boss Pu, we've found them!"
