Chapter 382 News!

A light drizzle silently fell from the sky, as if nature were softly singing, foreshadowing some ominous sign that was about to descend.

Tomon frowned slightly, his gaze piercing through the rain as he looked at Lin Mo beside him. "Um, Lin Mo, where should we go now?" His voice betrayed a hint of confusion and unease.

Upon hearing this, Aria's lips curled into a playful smile. "Of course, we should go find our employer. After all, I haven't received my commission yet." A sly glint flashed in her eyes, as if she had already seen through everything.

Tomon's eyes widened. "Stone Serpent? He's still in the city?" His voice was full of surprise.

Lin Mo nodded, a hint of certainty in his eyes. "Most likely. For him, the most dangerous place is often the safest." His tone was calm and firm, as if everything was under his control.

Upon hearing this, Tomon was stunned for a moment, then gave a wry smile. "Ha, this guy is really unpredictable." His cloak fluttered gently in the drizzle, raindrops gathering into trickles that quietly slid down the edge of the cloak.

The little girl gently tossed her long, silky hair, causing water droplets to fall like pearls. Pointing ahead, she excitedly shouted, "Look over there, Big Furball, your 'best buddy' is right there!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Mo looked in the direction she pointed and saw the familiar figure—the stone snake—standing quietly not far away.

With a familiar, booming shout, Tormon suddenly rushed forward, his arms clamping around the man like iron clamps, the force so great it seemed he would crush the man's bones. The man then snapped out of his daze, recovering from his shock.

"Stone Serpent! Ah, it's so good to see you again. Especially seeing your face, which is purple from the cold wind, makes me feel even more at ease."

Tomon looked the other man up and down, as if he wanted to pour all the longing and doubts of the past three years into his eyes, and then he burst into laughter, "You haven't changed at all, you're still the same as before."

“Tomon, it’s been three years since we parted ways. You haven’t changed at all!” Stone Serpent replied with a smile, his voice revealing a hint of excitement and emotion.

Standing to the side, Lin Mo's heart skipped a beat when he heard the word "three years." He instinctively asked, "Has three years already passed?"

At that moment, he suddenly remembered the giant rat's words: "Only a few days in the cave, but a hundred years in the world!"

Just as Lin Mo was about to ask something else, a clear yet slightly weak voice pulled him back to reality. Aria's voice carried a barely perceptible hint of alertness: "Hey, this isn't the time for reminiscing. Haven't you noticed the enemy approaching?"

Before he could finish speaking, Lin Mo's gaze was drawn to the soldiers rapidly assembling on the street. They were dressed in leather jackets, covered with ring armor, their iron gloves and knee pads gleaming coldly in the rain, their faces beneath their helmets blurred yet resolute.

The rain-soaked cloaks clung tightly to their backs, fluttering like black battle flags in the wind.

Lin Mo didn't have time to count them, but with just a glance, he knew that there were definitely more than a few soldiers. They were lined up in neat and orderly rows, numbering at least a hundred, like an iron torrent that appeared silently before them.

"Behind us!" he heard Tommon shout. He turned around and saw that there were more people behind them, cutting off their retreat.

The longsword that Tormont had snatched from the prison guards was drawn from its sheath with a sharp clang, piercing the darkness of night like the first rays of dawn. His eyes widened in fury, his aura overwhelming, and he roared, "How dare you block my Grandpa Luo's path! You're courting death!"

The opposing team leader, a man with a face covered in rain and a fierce look in his eyes, shouted loudly: "Cults, aliens, traitors! We already know your identities!" His voice echoed in the rain, full of anger and disdain.

Upon hearing this, Lin Mo's gaze sharpened. He looked at the team leader and calmly asked, "Do you know who we are?"

The team leader gave Lin Mo a cold glance, his eyes full of vigilance and hostility: "Of course I know!"

"Then I advise you to leave as soon as possible," Lin Mo said.

The opposing team has nearly a hundred members, but none of them are experts!

"I can't do it!"

Lin Mo frowned and said, "You guys are really crazy. Don't even mention your nearly one hundred people, even if there were a thousand troops, they couldn't stop us."

These are all soldiers of the Great Xia Dynasty, all his subjects...

If he could, he really wouldn't want to kill innocent soldiers!

"But I have dirt on you!" the other team leader said. "Don't you want to see your wife?"

wife?

Ruoxi? Qing'er? Churan?

Lin Mo was soaked to the bone by the rain, a chill seeping into his very marrow. His heart was like a desolate wasteland swept by a cold wind, utterly bleak.

"Where...where are they now?" Lin Mo's voice was hoarse and trembling, each word seemingly squeezed out from the deepest part of his heart.

The man chuckled slowly, his tone full of mockery: "Oh? Want to know their whereabouts? Then just surrender obediently. Perhaps, if I'm in a better mood, I'll consider taking you to see them."

These casual words struck Lin Mo's heart like a heavy hammer. His body instantly lost all strength, as if all his energy had been drained. His mind was in chaos, countless thoughts churning within him.

However, just then, a crisp voice broke the oppressive silence: "Hey, stop putting on airs. Little girl, I didn't watch movies for nothing. Your tricks are outdated."
