Luo Lin seemed oblivious to Qin Nan's unusual behavior, humming a little tune as he rearranged the fruits and snacks on the table.
Luo Lin: "Anan, don't just stand there. Go wash up. It's still dark. Dad, your uncles and aunts will be coming to help soon. After you wash up, eat something and wait for the time to come with me to pick up the bride."
Qin Nan: "Uh, okay."
Qin Nan noticed that the washbasin stand and basin from yesterday were gone, so she thought of going to the kitchen to fetch water. But as soon as she went in, she found that the kitchen from yesterday was no longer the kitchen.
There were some odds and ends placed against the wall, a large table in the middle, and a circle of chairs. White "囍" characters were pasted on the walls and windows.
Qin Nan silently withdrew and went into the courtyard. As soon as she stepped out the door, she felt a chill run through her body.
The courtyard that appeared before them was twice the size of the one from yesterday, and it even had an extra room—the wedding room.
Looking at the white strips of cloth fluttering in the wind all over the courtyard, and the white lanterns hanging in front of each house and at the gate, Qin Nan thought it would be a good place to hold a funeral if it weren't for Luo Lin's red clothes.
But, putting aside why the layout of the courtyard has changed, how can the wedding be held today when the betrothal was just yesterday?
Luo Lin: "Anan, what are you thinking about? Go wash up quickly, or you'll panic later."
Qin Nan: "Ahe, didn't you say the wedding was on the first day of the eighth lunar month? How come it's today?"
Luo Lin looked puzzled: "Isn't today the first day of the eighth lunar month?"
Qin Nan: "???"
Qin Nan was stunned, his eyes filled with disbelief. He clearly remembered that yesterday was only July 16th, how could it be August after just one night?
Did he sleep for half a month?
Luo Lin: "Anan, are you still sleepy? But you're right, I've troubled you so much these past two weeks. I'll definitely help you when you get married!"
Qin Nan was confused.
Has he already lived like this for half a month?
Why doesn't he remember anything?
Has his memory disappeared again?
But before Qin Nan could stand there in a daze for long, a group of villagers arrived. Luo Lin pushed Qin Nan to wash up while he went to greet the visitors.
