Chapter 117 God's Words: Questions and Reflections

Qin Nan: "Then... if it's something from the Mountain and Sea Realm, then this city?"

Bai Hao: "This city was once called Gu City. It was the capital of the Nanyue Kingdom more than a thousand years ago when fifteen kingdoms coexisted. Before the fifteen kingdoms, it was a unified dynasty, but it declined and the world was divided up, leading to a long period of war."

Qin Nan: "Yes, I know that. I learned it in history class, but it wasn't explained in too much detail. The history of these fifteen kingdoms was only seventy or eighty years before they were unified by the Zhao Kingdom. As a result, most of the historical records of each kingdom were lost, and many cannot be verified. This period was just glossed over."

Bai Hao: "The Fifteen Kingdoms period was indeed too short, and there was constant strife and war. Peace and stability became the greatest desire of ordinary people, to the point that when human power was exhausted, they began to believe in so-called gods."

Qin Nan: "Moon Goddess Temple, the Moon Goddess?"

Bai Hao: "Initially it was just a temple. Later, someone created the so-called Moon Goddess for his own ambition, gathered believers, and then spread the legend, and eventually the Moon Goddess Temple came into being."

Qin Nan: "The one you mentioned named Song Huiru?"

Bai Hao: "No, she... was just a pawn being used."

Qin Nan: "Then what is my other half on her?"

Bai Hao: "Before, but not now."

Qin Nan: "So what do we need to do now?"

Bai Hao: "Wait."

Qin Nan: "Wait? Wait for what?"

Bai Hao: "Wait for the old story to repeat itself."

Qin Nan looked puzzled, but Bai Hao offered no further explanation.

Qiong Ruiheng was born in the Mountain and Sea Realm. If it weren't for the special circumstances of this time, he would not have come to the human world. So even though this is fake, it is still very new to him.

He was dazzled by the variety of stalls and shops.

There were street performers on the road, some playing music and others dancing gracefully.

There are also some acrobats performing martial arts or other small tricks.

Qiong Ruiheng watched with great interest the whole way.

Li You wasn't too interested, nor did he particularly like such lively places. He simply carried Jiang Jiang and followed Bai Hao.

Shan You scratched his head impatiently. He rarely saw so many people at once, but he couldn't speak. It was really annoying!

He really wanted to swear!

Not cursing in my heart! It's cursing in a way that others can hear!

Dan You looked at Bai Hao walking ahead, feeling utterly dejected. He probably wouldn't be able to curse anyone for the time being.

Bai Hao led the group to an inn to stay in. The people in the city seemed to have some kind of filter on them, who were out of place, and did not find them strange. It seemed that in their eyes, they were no different from everyone else.

The waiter helped them check in and selected two rooms. Bai Hao, Qin Nan, and Qiong Ruiheng shared one room, while the remaining three shared another.

Once inside the room, Qiong Ruiheng let go of Qin Nan's hand, curiously ran to the window, opened it, and looked down at the street scene.

The upper room is on the third floor, which is not low, and offers a good view of the night.

Bai Hao closed the door, turned around and saw the two of them, one big and one small, crowding by the window. He didn't disturb them. He wouldn't be able to sleep for long tonight, so he would just lie in bed for a while. Tomorrow would be the real excitement.

Qin Nan watched for a while and noticed that Bai Hao was not moving. She turned her head and saw that Bai Hao was resting with his head in his hands, one hand on the table, his fist clenched.

Seeing this, Qin Nan told Qiong Ruiheng to go to bed. The bed was quite big, and it would be fine for three people to sleep in it.

Bai Hao didn't open his eyes: "You guys sleep in the beds, I'll wake you up tomorrow morning."

Upon hearing this, Qin Nan glanced at Bai Hao, but did not argue. She then went to bed with Qiong Ruiheng.

Qiong Ruiheng happily rested her head on Qin Nan's shoulder and obediently closed her eyes.

In the afternoon, Qin Nan noticed that Qiong Ruiheng was still wearing the tattered clothes he had worn in the cave, and that his build was similar to Tao Xiaolu's, so she asked Bai Hao to bring him a set of clothes and shoes to try on.

Qiong Ruiheng had long disliked his dirty clothes and promptly changed them.

Qin Nan had originally planned to buy clothes for Qiong Ruiheng when he arrived at the Qin residence. After all, he could now spend Bai Hao's money with a clear conscience.

But then I thought, he probably wouldn't be there at that time, and perhaps he wouldn't be able to go back anytime soon.

At this moment, Qin Nan recalled the Qin residence and the neighbor's matter. He knew from the beginning that the Qin residence was not sold to Bai Hao through proper procedures. Bai Hao naturally knew about the neighbor's actions, but he still bought it, which must have been intentional.

But he probably didn't know about his own affairs, so just like Bai Hao kept him around, it was out of surprise, curiosity, and...

Qin Nan turned her head and looked at Bai Hao.

Or perhaps, it was because of guidance?

His memories were incomplete, missing many important details, so the answers to many questions remain unknown.

For example, Qin Nan remembered that there should only be one Bai Ze in the Mountain and Sea Realm, Bai Hao. Why did Bai Ze become a race?

But he was certain that Bai Hao was the Bai Ze that had once accompanied him.

Also, the name he chose for himself.

Thinking about this, Qin Nan felt a little depressed. He had to sincerely thank Cangjie for creating characters, otherwise, according to Bai Hao's idea, his name should have been Heitu (Black Soil).

Fortunately, these two characters were combined, and in the present world, the name "Mo" is not considered unpleasant.

Then, Qin Nan thought of the neighbor who sold his house. He had been working with Bai Hao while renovating his house, and he had encountered a series of problems while also taking care of his child at home, so he had forgotten about this matter.

Now that he has remembered, he no longer has the time to dwell on it.

If he can come back, he will personally settle the accounts and find the people to get all the money back. If he doesn't have the money, he will have to pay off the debt!

It was the middle of the night, and Qiong Ruiheng leaned against Qin Nan and quickly fell asleep. Qin Nan closed her eyes and thought about all sorts of things, and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep.
