Chapter 159 Repairing the Scroll, Mirage Beast

Entering the water mirror reveals another small world, but unlike the water mirror, there is no scenery here; it is just a vast expanse of white.

Qin Nan suddenly remembered the place where he saw his father's divine sense, which was also a vast white space. Perhaps there was such a place in his mirage painting, but he had not yet explored it properly.

After the three appeared, many mirror-like doors suddenly appeared out of thin air in the white space, and soon, different people walked out of each door.

The difference is that they include men, women, young and old, but what they have in common is that their hair is snow-white and their pupils are amber.

"Lord Azure Dragon! You're looking for us?"

"Hey? Isn't this Bai Hao from the Bai Ze clan? Long time no see!"

"Who is that person? Is he/she human?"

"Did Lord Azure Dragon bring humans here?"

"Bai Hao is still holding his hand! Ah! Are they a couple?"

"Bai Hao, Bai Hao, is this your partner?"

"Oh! Isn't that the scroll he's holding? It looks damaged!"

"It really is, a painting for that person!"

The cacophony of voices prevented any of the three from speaking. Qin Nan was also pulled aside to examine the scroll in her hand, which had already been taken away by several people for inspection.

"Hmm, this scroll has been burned! This fire looks familiar... Bai Hao! Did you do it?!"

"Wow, this scroll is so torn, it needs to be repaired."

"It's mostly torn, it must have taken a lot of silk thread, but after all this time, the scroll is still very well preserved!"

"Yes, it must have been a thousand years ago. I was too young then, so I only saw it from afar."

"Then we need to quickly exhale some mirage energy. Since Zhizhi and the others are here, they can weave brocade!"

"Yes, yes, while they're here, it's the perfect time to weave silk!"

Before Qin Nan could even ask them to repair the scroll, several people had already rushed off to fix it.

It seemed quite troublesome. Many of the mirage beasts were called away, and some went to join the fun. In the end, only a few older mirage beasts and two younger ones remained.

"It's been a long time since I've seen Bai Hao."

The young man in front of me was dressed in a simple white tracksuit, with neat short white hair, a small face, and delicate features.

Bai Hao nodded to him: "Long time no see, Chen Tan."

"Me too, me too! Hao-ge, is this your partner? Introduce her!"

A slightly taller young man with medium-length hair next to Chen Tan laughed heartily.

Bai Hao: "These are my partners, Qin Nan and A Nan. This is Shen Tan, and that is Shen Yan. They are all mirage beasts."

Chen Tan: "Hello, Brother Anan!"

Shen Yan: "Hello, hello, just call me Xiao Yan, this is Tan Tan!"

Qin Nan: "Hello."

Meng Zhang and the other older mirage beasts explained the reason for their trip, and they readily agreed. However, the scroll was quite damaged, and it would take some time to fully repair it. Even with all the mirage beasts working together, the earliest they could finish was tomorrow.

Qin Nan readily agreed and expressed his gratitude, but he didn't know what kind of payment he needed to make.

The eldest of the mirage beasts waved his hand, saying that the payment had been made a long time ago and that Qin Nan need not worry about it.

With the trip going smoothly, Qin Nan felt much more at ease. This mirage scroll was a very important item and a necessary part of the plan. As long as nothing went wrong, everything else would be fine.

Since Qin Nan was in a hurry, the older mirage beasts did not linger. They exchanged a few words with Meng Zhang and then hurriedly left.

Shen Tan and Shen Yan had something to discuss with Bai Hao, so they went to talk to him aside, leaving Qin Nan and Meng Zhang behind.

Meng Zhang: "Did we meet a long time ago? Why don't I remember you at all?"

Qin Nan turned to look at Meng Zhang, then glanced at Bai Hao not far away, and lowered her voice.

Qin Nan: "Because I have been forgotten by the world of mountains and seas. One day, you will remember me, the nameless young hero!"

Meng Zhang was speechless, staring at Qin Nan in astonishment. This was something he kept very secret; even Zhuque and the others didn't know, yet Qin Nan actually did.

Meng Zhang frowned: "Didn't Bai Hao tell you?"

Qin Nan smiled and said, "No."

Meng Zhang: "He doesn't even know what you're about to do?"

Qin Nan: "We'll find out."

Meng Zhang: "If you refuse to be honest, aren't you afraid of never seeing each other again?"

Qin Nan: "Do you... still remember Houtu?"

Meng Zhang: "You mean the cause of her death?"

Qin Nan: "Last time, I knew nothing, and even if I used all my strength, it was all in vain. But this time, I know enough, and I am no longer alone. I will definitely have a better outcome."

Looking at Qin Nan's gentle yet firm expression, Meng Zhang was momentarily stunned. He seemed to sense a touch of affection for Qin Nan within himself.

Were they... once friends?

Thinking back to Su Kun's long-standing plan, I still feel admiration for him. He is certainly not the type to retire peacefully, but he has made a promise and will not break it. Protecting the Mirage Realm is a good reason for that.

Qin Nan's unwavering resolve, kind heart, and fearlessness in the face of adversity make the sacrifices of Su Kun and the celestial maiden worthwhile; he is a worthy person.

Meng Zhang smiled knowingly and patted Qin Nan on the shoulder, "It will definitely go smoothly, and there will be even better results."

Qin Nan: "Okay, just remember to pay back the debt when the time comes!"

Meng Zhang: "Hmm? Paying off debts?"

Before Qin Nan could speak, Bai Hao and Shen Tan and Chen Yan had already walked over, so Qin Nan didn't reply.

After finishing their business, Shen Tan and Shen Yan left first. Qin Nan had nothing to do either, so she could only wait until sunset.

Meng Zhang led the two back to the banyan tree. This time, Meng Zhang personally brewed tea, and Qin Nan tried her best to suppress her laughter as the whole process went on.

Meng Zhang could never have imagined that one day he would be able to sit down so peacefully, brewing and tasting tea.
