Chapter 207 Provoking the Beast One Shouldn't Have Been Provoked

The next morning, Qin Nan woke up, took out a bandage from under her pillow, tied her long hair up simply, stretched her neck, and opened her eyes groggily.

Turning her head, she saw Bai Hao lying upright on the golden bed, looking at Qin Nan with a calm gaze.

Qin Nan suddenly raised her arm and rubbed it.

"Ugh, sleeping on the floor is really not comfortable. My arms feel like they've been pressed down all night, and my legs are a bit sore too."

Bai Hao, who had climbed into Qin Nan's bed in the middle of the night, turned his head away guiltily, not daring to look at Qin Nan again.

Upon seeing this, Qin Nan got up and changed her clothes.

He had no suspicion of Bai Hao and was fast asleep, so he didn't know whether Bai Hao had climbed into his bed. But he just made a quick bluff and it was immediately clear.

He felt pain in his arms and legs every morning when he woke up, as if he had been lying down for too long.

Bai Hao's act was so convincing!

Qin Nan got up, went downstairs, washed up, and made breakfast. She planned to go to the nearby vegetable market today, as she had finished eating the vegetables she bought yesterday.

Tengxue and Xuanyu got up early and came downstairs to wash up in their pajamas. Tengxue's hair had grown quite a bit. Qin Nan used to be an ordinary person who helped take care of her boss's child when she was working to earn money, so she knew a little about how to style hair.

Although it can't compare to the hair that Murong Xue used to braid for Teng Xue, it's still quite presentable.

Chi Wei and his two friends played games late into the night and went to bed too late to get up, but they didn't have anything to do when they got up early anyway.

Qin Nan left some food for them.

Bai Hao got up, ate breakfast, and said he was going out. There was a knock on the door of the Qin residence. Bai Hao accepted the job and went to check it out.

After all, Zhu Jiuyin said that something bad would happen in the underworld in the future, so Bai Hao thought that if he came into contact with more supernatural and ghostly matters, he might be able to discover some unusual clues.

Qin Nan saw Bai Hao off in his car, then closed the door and took Xuan Yu and Teng Xue out to the market.

It's already mid-September, and the old town has already begun preparations for National Day.

The old town will definitely be packed with people. Moreover, according to Chi Wei and his friends, some shop owners have said that many new activities have been launched this year, and some intangible cultural heritage items have been invited to promote the area.

I imagine it will be very lively when it arrives, but of course there will be some inconvenience for a while.

So Qin Nan bought more groceries this time. She had a large freezer at home, so she froze some meat and bought some cabbage to store. Other vegetables could be bought at the supermarket anytime.

Thinking that he would buy a lot of things, Qin Nan borrowed a cart from Li You to transport them. When he saw Li You, Qin Nan was shocked. Li You looked listless and hadn't slept all night.

But when Qin Nan asked him, he said it was nothing, just work pressure.

Qin Nan couldn't offer any help, so she could only advise him to take care of his health, reminding him that even a divine beast shouldn't squander its physical resources.

Li You nodded absentmindedly.

Qin Nan drove Xuan Yu and Teng Xue to the market to buy some things, then asked them if there was anything they wanted, and also called Chi Wei and the others.

In the end, Qin Nan bought three large bags of snacks and carried two cases of drinks.

On his way back, while waiting for pedestrians, Qin Nan caught a glimpse of two people out of the corner of his eye. He was a little surprised, so he pulled over and stared at them quietly for a while. He confirmed that he hadn't made a mistake.

After returning to his original body, Qin Nan's memory was excellent. Although they hadn't seen each other for more than five years, they hadn't changed much.

The neighboring family that sold the Qin residence back then actually dared to come back!

After the others disappeared, Qin Nan slowly drove back.

They must have heard that Qin Nan had become a vegetable, and no one was holding them accountable. After all, that's how Bai Hao explained it to ordinary people, such as Zhao Qiuyan and Chen Qizhu.

When Chi Wei and the other neighbors explained it, they must have said the same thing. After all, the neighbors were surprised when Qin Nan came out to buy things after waking up, and they congratulated him on waking up.

Qin Nan has now reverted to his beast form. Although he can no longer transform back into his original form, he is no longer an ordinary person, nor is he the helpless and pitiful person he used to be.

Although Bai Hao was rich and didn't care about a little bit, it really made Qin Nan feel hopeless back then.

With only a hundred or so yuan in his pocket, heavily in debt, and homeless, anger was useless, and even if he called the police, filed a lawsuit, or sought accountability, he had no money to spend.

Even if he could have been held responsible and his debts recovered at the time, he couldn't afford to wait. Besides, if he had to find someone, hire a lawyer, or file a lawsuit, he would have a hard time surviving without money.

It was Bai Hao who waited for him and met him that saved Qin Nan from being in dire straits. Even if none of this had happened, he still harbored some resentment, especially after hearing Bai Hao talk about his grandparents' past when he visited their graves.

The Qin residence is truly important; if it hadn't fallen into Bai Hao's hands, who knows what it would have become.

"Brother Anan, are you alright? You seem suddenly very unhappy."

Tengxue leaned out from the back seat and asked Qin Nan with concern.

Qin Nan snapped out of her reverie and smiled. "It's nothing. I just suddenly remembered some unpleasant things. It's all in the past now, so it's alright."

Tengxue leaned on the back of the car seat, tilted her head, and shook her head as she looked at Qin Nan, who was forcing a smile.

“Brother Anan, there’s no past. You’re very unhappy right now! You can talk about it. I remember reading in a book that talking about sad things makes you feel better.”

Qin Nan was slightly taken aback, not expecting to be comforted and consoled by her son.

Qin Nan spoke lightly and simply, not to vent anything, but it was certainly better to say it than to keep it bottled up inside.

Tengxue smiled and leaned over to give Qin Nan a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Don't be angry, Brother Anan. From now on, we'll protect you, and no one will dare to bully you!"

Qin Nan couldn't help but smile happily; at this moment, he was truly no longer unhappy.

Life goes on, and he needs to look forward; not everyone is worth his attention.

Feeling better, Qin Nan drove home attentively, thinking about what delicious food to make for the kids.

Unbeknownst to him, Xuan Yu, who was being shielded behind Teng Xue, was relaying everything to Bai Hao in a rapid-fire manner, and even made a copy for Chi Wei.
