Bai Hao grabbed Lü Zeqi by the back of his collar, leaped up, and landed on the bus stop sign. He then continued leaping and disappeared among the buildings.
As Bai Hao and Lü Zeqi left, the people who had been lying on the ground slowly got up and dispersed as if nothing had happened, just like normal people. The other group of people who had come also stopped and scattered.
Lu Zeqi, who was being carried and placed on the roof by Bai Hao, looked down in a daze. When he turned to look at Bai Hao, his eyes were filled with excitement. This was a master!
Seeing that he couldn't find any signs of life in the dream, Bai Hao knew that Qin Nan and Zhou Miao had entered the dream and he had to find them as soon as possible.
Zhou Miao should be at that boy's house. According to the schedule, that woman won't be home for the time being, so Zhou Miao is fine for now.
The problem is that he can't find Qin Nan... Bai Hao suddenly remembered something, looked down at the watch on his wrist. His mind was so confused by Qin Nan that it wasn't working properly. With the contract, he knew where Qin Nan was.
Bai Hao raised his hand and looked at his watch. A silver-white array appeared on the dial, and then a wisp of white smoke appeared in the sky above a certain part of the city. Bai Hao immediately took Lü Zeqi and rushed over there.
As they got closer to Qin Nan, the wind grew stronger. Despite being in the same city, the climate was different in different places. Lü Zeqi felt that if Bai Hao hadn't been holding him back, he would probably have been swept away by the wind and blown into the sky.
The wind was so strong that it was impossible to open one's eyes. It was a miracle that Bai Hao could still clearly discern where they were going. Finally, the two stopped in front of a building and entered the building. Only then did Lü Zeqi feel like she could breathe again.
Bai Hao followed the directions on the dial to the third floor, with Lü Zeqi following closely behind. Suddenly, the door to room 301 was about to be opened. Bai Hao reacted quickly, grabbing Lü Zeqi and slipping to the fourth-floor stairwell.
The old man with the crooked head came out of room 301, closed the door, and went downstairs with his vegetable basket.
After a while, Bai Hao brought Lü Zeqi to the front of room 301.
Lu Zeqi looked at Bai Hao, "Master, are you going in?"
Bai Hao: "Hmm, I'm wondering whether I should kick the door down."
Lü Zeqi: "No need, this old-style door can be opened with a card."
As he spoke, Lü Zeqi took out his campus card, then fiddled with it on the door for a while before the door clicked open.
Seeing Bai Hao's satisfied expression, Lü Zeqi smiled smugly, then opened the door to let Bai Hao in, followed him in, and closed the door.
The two entered the house, which was very empty. Apart from the furniture, there was nothing else. Bai Hao looked at the closed bedroom door and walked over quickly.
Lu Zeqi looked around the house curiously. Everything in front of him was black and white, like an old television. He glanced at the kitchen and froze on the spot.
What's that on the cutting board? I'm not mistaken, it's half a human lower leg with a foot! And what's hanging on the wall? Are those human ribs? That's clearly a human torso! What's soaking in that clear jar? It's definitely not chicken feet, it's a human hand! And that jar... eyeballs?!
"vomit--"
Lu Zeqi rushed to the toilet and vomited violently. He suddenly felt that the scene looked very familiar. Could this be what Zhou Miao was seeing?
Lu Zeqi swore he would never eat chicken feet again in his life, and he wouldn't eat any meat for the next few months! Not even pork! Although it's black and white, it's even more bizarre than having any color at all!!!
Bai Hao pushed open the bedroom door. Qin Nan turned her head, saw Bai Hao, got up and walked towards him. She walked straight towards him expressionlessly, and didn't even notice when she bumped into Bai Hao.
Bai Hao lifted Qin Nan's head, making Qin Nan look directly into his eyes. Bai Hao's eyes instantly transformed into beastly pupils, the golden pupils striking straight into the depths of her soul.
Qin Nan stopped in her tracks, feeling as if her mind had exploded. Her consciousness gradually returned, and she became fully awake, her eyes regaining their sparkle.
Qin Nan looked at Bai Hao, somewhat bewildered, "Bai, Bai Hao, I..."
As Qin Nan spoke, memories from her dream suddenly surfaced in her mind. Her face turned pale as she turned to look at the bed in the room. It was a black boxed bed with a single bed board on top. The table and wardrobe were made of paper and looked very much like the things sold in funeral shops for burning for the dead.
Qin Nan turned around and saw an old man who had appeared behind Bai Hao at some point. His face was pale, and only the whites of his eyes were visible. He was staring intently at the two of them.
Qin Nan suddenly remembered the food he had seen on the table and what he had eaten. His vision went black, and he fainted.
Bai Hao caught Qin Nan and held her in his arms. His eyes returned to normal. He turned around and looked at the old man who was about to rush over. Bai Hao casually took out a talisman from his pocket and threw it at the old man. The old man disappeared on the spot as soon as he touched the talisman.
Lu Zeqi staggered out of the toilet. Fortunately, he couldn't see any color or smell anything, otherwise he would have felt even worse. He saw that someone had disappeared, which he guessed was Bai Hao's doing.
Then Bai Hao appeared carrying a man. The man was also black and white, but gradually he regained the color of a normal person. Only then did Lü Zeqi understand what Bai Hao meant when he said that everything was fine.
Lü Zeqi: "Master, what is this?"
Bai Hao: "Let's talk outside. Let's go find Zhou Miao first."
Lu Zeqi was startled, "Zhou Miao?!"
Bai Hao didn't say anything. He carried Qin Nan and grabbed Lü Zeqi, leaping off the balcony and heading straight for Zhou Miao. Qin Nan was unconscious, and Bai Hao had finally recovered. So he realized that the woman had changed the time and gone back ahead of schedule. He wondered how Zhou Miao was doing.
The dilapidated streets and the flickering streetlights sent chills down Lü Zeqi's spine. This was practically the perfect place to film a ghost movie!
The three of them had just reached the bottom of the stairs when they heard a sound—the sound of breaking glass. Bai Hao carried Qin Nan upstairs quickly, and Lü Zeqi also rushed up. It was obvious that something had happened to Zhou Miao.
The door to an apartment on the sixth floor was open, and a putrid, sour smell kept wafting out of the room. Lü Zeqi felt like he was suffocating, and he only felt better after covering his mouth and nose with his sleeve.
Bai Hao had long since blocked his sense of smell. As a divine beast, he could smell the odor even before going upstairs, so he naturally made preparations. He didn't say anything because it would be useless anyway, and he couldn't block others' sense of smell.
"Cough cough—"
Qin Nan, who was on Bai Hao's shoulder, was choked awake. Bai Hao put her down, and Qin Nan ran downstairs to vomit. Lu Zeqi, who was trying his best to hold back, watched Qin Nan vomit and could no longer hold back. The two of them went downstairs to vomit together.
Bai Hao glanced at the two of them, shook his head helplessly, and then went into the house. Anyway, since Lu Zeqi was wearing the scales, the two of them wouldn't enter his dream. If they were in danger, they could run in or call for help in time, so he wasn't worried.
Bai Hao tiptoed inside with obvious disgust. The room was lit, not very bright, but the lighting was fine. The door to the small bedroom was open, and a woman in red was choking Zhou Miao and pinning her to the ground.
Zhou Miao felt no pain, only instinctively resisting, her eyes sometimes bright and sometimes dim. Bai Hao strode over, grabbed the woman's long hair and flung her onto the overturned bed.
Bai Hao picked Zhou Miao up and slapped him on the back. Zhou Miao suddenly woke up, clutching his neck and gasping for breath. He was both scared and angry; he had almost died.
