The fog on the mountaintop thinned out, and visibility was within ten meters. Bai Hao looked at the group of people behind him who were using their white canes as walking sticks, and found a rock nearby to sit down.
They refused to speak because of their pride, and they were also very curious about when Bai Hao would get tired. This was a mountain road, and although he had stopped four times, Bai Hao was still acting like a very normal person.
They travel around all year round, practicing martial arts, but they still get out of breath, sweat, and feel their legs ache. Bai Hao, however, is completely unaffected.
Equally strange was the gaunt old man, who was in the best condition besides Bai Hao, which was quite unexpected, but the others thought it was normal.
This gaunt old man was named Tiesheng, nicknamed Iron-Headed Ghost. He always kept to himself and was not interested in ordinary matters of the supernatural; he would only come when the things were more bizarre and strange.
He is ruthless and extremely skilled. I heard he used to be involved in organized crime, but I don't know why he switched to this line of work.
Bai Hao knew everyone here. The woman was named Wang Hua, a successor of the Yin-Yang lineage, and she came here out of curiosity. The two young men were named Qin Fang and Zhao Cheng, and they came here to exorcise ghosts.
Bai Hao knew the middle-aged man, whose name was An Bei. He was skilled at exorcising ghosts and evil spirits and was also very good at drawing talismans. The young man was named Chen Qiang because his fate followed An Bei.
To be honest, Bai Hao really wanted to go alone, but he needed to use a few people. If Bai Hao wasn't in a hurry, he would have let these people wander around in the mountains on their own. The route he was taking now was the fastest and shortest. Of course, to save trouble, he also cleared some ground, otherwise it wouldn't be so flat.
The mountain was shrouded in mist, the air was very humid, and in November it was quite chilly. Bai Hao checked his watch, rested for five minutes, and then got up to continue walking.
The group made no further discoveries along the way, and since Bai Hao was walking quickly and without any problems, they silently followed him.
After resting for five minutes, Bai Hao got up and continued on his way. The remaining group looked at each other, got up, and continued walking. Given the current situation, they might not be able to get down the mountain and could easily get lost. Their electronic devices would stop working once they entered the mountain, while Bai Hao seemed to know the way. So, following Bai Hao was the best option for now.
The further they went, the more rugged the mountain path became. The fog thinned, and visibility was reduced to at least ten meters. However, the temperature dropped lower and lower, and the temperature was eerily low. The compass needle in Qin Fang's hand was spinning rapidly, indicating that the magnetic field here was being severely disturbed.
Zhao Cheng took a very ordinary compass, and the pointer kept spinning. The group was constantly on guard about their surroundings.
Bai Hao suddenly paused. The array in his watch reacted. He smiled and confirmed the direction he wanted to go.
Before dark, Qin Nan cooked dinner for the four kids and also made some cookies and small cakes. After dinner, Qin Nan watched the news and then washed up and went back to his room around 10 p.m. Chi Wei entered his bedroom in his pajamas.
Qin Nan looked at Chi Wei and paused for a moment, "What's wrong? Is something the matter?"
Chi Wei leaned against the doorway, his voice soft and sweet, "The boss said I should sleep with Brother Anan."
Qin Nan looked at the very serious Chi Wei with a wry smile, "I'm not a child, it's okay, go to sleep!"
Chi Wei shook his head firmly, slipped on his slippers, went into the house, closed the door, and climbed into bed. "What the boss ordered must be done!"
Qin Nan looked at the boy, who was sitting on the bed with such a determined expression, and smiled helplessly. She then pulled back the covers and let Chi Wei into bed.
In the middle of the night, Qin Nan felt that the blanket was a bit drafty. Looking at her side with sleepy eyes, she saw Chi Wei kneeling at the head of the bed, staring at the front hall through the window.
Qin Nan was still half-asleep when she sat up groggily. Following Chi Wei's gaze, she saw that the front hall was brightly lit, as if the lights were on. Qin Nan instantly snapped awake. What was going on?!
Qin Nan: "Xiao Wei, what happened?"
Chi Wei shook his head, his little face full of doubt, "I don't know, there seems to be something in the room."
Qin Nan's heart skipped a beat as she remembered Wang Long's ring. "It seems like a guest left it behind."
Chi Wei turned to look at Qin Nan, "I don't sense any danger, it just seems to glow. Brother Nan, should we go check it out?"
Qin Nan: "No, no need! There's no danger, we can go tomorrow, right?"
Chi Wei: "But what if I wake up one morning and the front yard is gone?"
Qin Nan: "......"
Qin Nan hesitated upon hearing this. In fact, even knowing that there was such a thing in the front yard, he might not be able to sleep in the middle of the night. Moreover, what Chi Wei said was also right. Was it really okay to let it go?
Chi Wei wasn't afraid of anything. Seeing that Qin Nan didn't refuse, he assumed that Qin Nan had agreed. He got out of bed, put on his cotton slippers, and went outside.
Seeing this, Qin Nan got out of bed, put on her cotton shoes, grabbed a coat and put it on, then led Chi Wei out of the room.
Pi Yuan upstairs also sensed it, but Chi Wei didn't call him. He thought everything was fine, so he just watched from the window. Xuan Yu was still sleeping peacefully in bed.
Qin Nan and Chi Wei opened the back door of the front hall and carefully walked in. Chi Wei walked in front, lifted the beaded curtain, and saw a dazzling light on the reception table. Other than that, there was nothing unusual.
Qin Nan looked around warily. Chi Wei pulled him over and reached for the ring on the table. As soon as Chi Wei touched the ring, the two of them felt their bodies lighten. In the blink of an eye, the front hall was plunged into darkness, and the two people inside the room disappeared without a trace, including the ring that was originally on the table.
Deep in the mountains and forests, the night was thick with fog, and gusts of cold wind blew by, making people shiver. Qin Nan and Chi Wei looked at the scene before them in confusion.
Qin Nan: "Is this... is this an illusion?"
Chi Wei paused for a moment, then shook his head. "It's true, it's not fake. This really is in the mountains, Brother Anan, look."
