Chapter 71 Failing to Kick Through at the Last Minute

He Yan stood at the door looking at him, unable to reconcile the current him with the previous him. He was unsure which was real and which was fake, or perhaps both were real and both were Wu Yulin. He Yan clenched his fist involuntarily.

Do you really think he'll be fine without you?

He seemed to understand what Bai Hao meant. He was Wu Yulin's only solace in life, living because of his love for him. But his beloved father and mother were gone, and his sister, with whom he depended on each other, had also passed away. All his love had become empty, except for He Yan, who was still by his side.

He was giving all his remaining love as if he were making a desperate gamble. If He Yan were gone, Wu Yulin would be no different from a walking corpse.

Qin Nan didn't see the final scene. He Yan stood in the courtyard, looking enlightened. Bai Hao snapped his fingers, and He Yan came back to his senses. After a moment of silence, he slowly walked into the house. Bai Hao led Qin Nan away quietly.

He Yan returned to the house. Wu Yulin was still asleep. He Yan raised his hand to stroke his cheek, lowered his head and gently kissed his forehead, then got up and went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Qin Nan sat in the passenger seat, watching the scenery rushing past the window. She thought back to her meeting and getting along with Bai Hao. They had only known each other for three months, but it felt like a lifetime ago.

Bai Hao: "What are you thinking about?"

Qin Nan: "Wu Yufei helped them get together because she was afraid that Wu Yulin wouldn't be able to handle it after she left, right?"

Bai Hao: "Perhaps."

Qin Nan: "I am very fortunate that my grandfather stayed with me until the very end."

Bai Hao: "You are stronger."

Qin Nan shook her head with a wry smile upon hearing this, "Strong? It's more like cowardice."

Bai Hao raised his hand and rubbed his head: "I will always be with you."

Qin Nan turned to look at Bai Hao's profile. The streetlights flickered, and Qin Nan suddenly laughed out loud: "I don't believe in promises, but I believe in you."

Qin Nan looked at Bai Hao with utmost seriousness, her eyes gentle as water, her voice soft yet firm.

Bai Hao glanced at Qin Nan, drove the car to a temporary parking space ahead, and waved his hand to cast a protective barrier.

Qin Nan watched the car stop and looked at Bai Hao with a puzzled expression. Then, Bai Hao, who had unbuckled his seatbelt, pressed her against the back of the seat and started taking advantage of her. The seat was slowly reclined, and Bai Hao leaned over her. Qin Nan unconsciously used her hands to press against Bai Hao's chest.

Bai Hao looked down at Qin Nan, and said in a low, slightly hoarse voice, "You're driving me crazy."

Qin Nan blushed, thought for a moment, then cupped Bai Hao's face in her hands and leaned in to kiss him.

Bai Hao's pupils contracted, and he returned the kiss with even greater intensity. He tentatively reached out to unbutton Qin Nan's clothes, and Qin Nan did not stop him, allowing Bai Hao to touch Qin Nan's warm skin without any obstruction.

However, just as he was about to take the opportunity to go further, Qin Nan's phone suddenly rang. Bai Hao didn't want to pay attention to it, but the ringing continued. Qin Nan seemed to see the phantom of the real body appear behind Bai Hao, and immediately reached out to gently stroke Bai Hao's back.

Bai Hao closed his eyes to calm down, looked at Qin Nan who was almost ready to be eaten, and then looked at the night view outside the car window. Although he was very unhappy about being interrupted, the environment was indeed not very good. After all, it was his first time with Qin Nan. Bai Hao suppressed his anger and sat back in the driver's seat.

Qin Nan finished dressing, then took out her phone to answer the call. Pi Yuan and Xuan Yu's voices came from the other end of the line.

Pi Yuan cooked a meal, and after Murong Xue and Teng Xue finished eating, they snuggled up in their room and whispered to each other. Pi Yuan also brought food to Chi Wei and Tao Xiaolu, but he didn't know when Qin Nan and Bai Hao would return, so he wondered if he should cook some food for them.

Qin Nan smiled and said that they would be going back soon. He would cook for Bai Hao when they got back, and Pi Yuan and Xuan Yu could go have fun. He didn't need to worry about them.

Bai Hao withdrew the barrier with a gloomy face and continued driving back.

On the way back, Bai Hao's face was very dark. As soon as he got home, he went into the backyard and threw Pi Yuan and Xuan Yu onto the roof, following in the footsteps of Chi Wei and Tao Xiaolu.

Tengxue and Murongxue looked out the window upon hearing the noise, then silently closed it. Bai Hao seemed to be in a terrible mood.

Pi Yuan and Xuan Yu looked at each other, their faces full of question marks. Chi Wei and Tao Xiaolu had already been lying together on the roof. They were also dumbfounded when they saw the two people being thrown up. However, sensing the particularly dangerous aura emanating from Bai Hao, the two of them quietly made themselves less noticeable.

It wasn't until Bai Hao entered the room that Tao Xiaolu couldn't help but whisper to Chi Wei, "What happened? Pi Xiaoyuan and Xiaoyu were both thrown away?"

Chi Wei paused for a moment: "Maybe we've run into bad luck."

Tao Xiaolu: "Bad luck? What bad luck?"

Chi Wei: "I don't know, but it should be related to Brother Anan. Only Brother Anan's matter can make the boss so irritable."

Upon hearing this, Tao Xiaolu silently made a mental note: he must not provoke Qin Nan, or he would die without a burial place!

Upon hearing this, Pi Yuan and Xuan Yu thought about it. They had only made a phone call and hadn't done anything else...

The two children suddenly realized that the phone had been ringing for a long time. They looked at each other, resigned to their bad luck.

Qin Nan made two simple bowls of scallion oil noodles. Bai Hao felt a little better while eating. After Qin Nan finished tidying up, she sat for a while, and Bai Hao went to take a shower and then went back to his room in his pajamas to lie down.

Hearing the door close downstairs, Murong Xue and Teng Xue immediately went downstairs quietly. Qin Nan returned the car keys apologetically, and Murong Xue said it was okay, but she would have to trouble you to stay tonight.

Qin Nan smiled and said, "It's alright, it won't bother you. They seem to like you a lot, but as for a change of clothes..."

Tengxue: "Could Sister Murong wear Auntie's clothes?"

Qin Nan was slightly taken aback, then nodded and smiled, "If you don't mind."

Murong Xue shook her head: "No, Auntie is really skillful. The clothes she makes are beautiful and her craftsmanship is excellent. The clothes she makes are even better than the clothes I had custom-made before!"

Qin Nan chatted with them for a while with a smile, then washed up, changed her clothes, and went upstairs. Murong Xue and Teng Xue also chatted and laughed as they took a shower together and went back to their room. The four kids on the roof were destined to spend the night there.

Before dawn, it started snowing. The snowflakes weren't very big, but they were falling heavily, and the ground was already covered with a layer of snow.

Qin Nan felt a bit cold and woke up early. She got out of bed and looked out the window at the four little ones on the roof of the front hall. She was a little worried at first, but then she saw that the four children were already sitting on the roof, throwing small snowballs.

Qin Nan checked her phone and saw that today was the Winter Solstice.

Bai Hao lay on the bed, turned his head to look at Qin Nan sitting on the edge of the bed, moved his body, leaned over and hugged her around the waist, lifted his clothes and kissed Qin Nan on the lower back.

Qin Nan put down her phone and smiled helplessly. Last night was ultimately just a night of sleeping. Although Bai Hao was disappointed, he found that things were much better than before. For example, he was back in bed, and he could hug and kiss anyone he wanted, anywhere he wanted.

Qin Nan reached out and stroked Bai Hao's hair: "Okay, you can sleep a little longer, I'll go make breakfast."

Bai Hao hugged and kissed Qin Nan again, then let go of him and lay down for a while longer.
