Chapter 9 Grand Opening?

After breakfast, Li Cheng brought people to inspect the house on time. Bai Hao stayed in the attic as usual, while Longmao stayed quietly in the villa and refused to go out.

He sensed the tense atmosphere between the two, and he didn't want to be caught in the middle. One was the boss, and the other was his bread and butter; he couldn't afford to offend either of them. He decided to stay put.

Qin Nan first had the water heater repaired and then added a solar water heater to ensure there was hot water available at all times, so that he could take a shower and rest earlier!

In the following days, Qin Nan was busy during the day, and after cleaning up the dishes at night, she would go to sleep without letting Bai Hao wash up.

Bai Hao noticed that Qin Nan was angry, but he didn't understand why. It was just a kiss, not some other way around. Besides, shouldn't this kid be more easygoing? Was he really that bothered by this? Or was the excuse he came up with last night inappropriate?

Humans are indeed troublesome.

Bai Hao wasn't one to understand others' feelings, and he didn't address his doubts. Qin Nan kept them bottled up for several days until the house was finished, exactly seven days later.

Qin Nan paid the final payment to Li Cheng, then chatted for a while. When she returned, she saw a new plaque suddenly installed at the main entrance, with two white cloth embroidered balls hanging next to it. White cloth was also hanging on the plaque, and two white lanterns with the word "Sacrifice" written on them were hanging on the lintel.

This strange scene made Qin Nan forget all her unpleasantness, and she walked over to Bai Hao, who was looking up at the plaque at the gate.

Qin Nan: "Boss, why is there a white cloth hanging for the opening?"

Bai Hao: "Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm in the funeral business."

Qin Nan: "......"

Qin Nan looked at Bai Hao in disbelief. This person didn't seem like someone who would be in the funeral business at all.

But surely he wouldn't make such a joke just because I ignored him? Definitely not, Bai Hao isn't the type to joke around, and he certainly wouldn't joke about the opening of a business!

Looking at Qin Nan's somewhat unpleasant expression, Bai Hao suddenly remembered that in the fragments of memory he had seen, it seemed that Qin Nan was afraid of ghosts.

Bai Hao: "What? Is there a problem?"

Qin Nan: "Yes, are you sure you're not joking with me?"

Bai Hao: "Have I ever joked with you?"

Qin Nan: "......"

Qin Nan swallowed hard, trying to reassure herself that it was just a funeral, no big deal, the treatment was good!

He had already read and translated the contract Bai Hao had given him. The benefits were really good. Although the internship salary wasn't high, it was enough to pay off his monthly debts. Plus, it included room and board, and he could even live in his own house. Well, it was just about receiving people and arranging funerals, not dealing with supernatural events!

Bai Hao: "Any other questions?"

Qin Nan: "Yes, I didn't see any wreaths or paper money in the house."

Bai Hao: "Um...no need."

Qin Nan: "Huh?"

Before Qin Nan could understand what was going on, Bai Hao stepped forward and pulled on the hanging white rope. The white cloth on the plaque fluttered down, and Qin Nan saw the four white characters "Yin Yang Post Station" written on the black plaque.

He suddenly had a bad feeling!

Qin Nan picked up the white cloth and rope and went into the house with Bai Hao. Qin Nan threw the white cloth and rope into the trash can next to the toilet.

Just as Qin Nan opened the lid of the trash can, she suddenly felt something behind her. She turned around abruptly, but there was nothing there. Bai Hao had already gone into the backyard, and only Qin Nan was in the front yard.

Qin Nan turned around in confusion. He had indeed felt something just now, and even in broad daylight, he felt a little cold and couldn't help but shiver.

Qin Nan quickly threw down her things and went to the backyard to prepare lunch for Bai Hao.

But just as Qin Nan stepped into the front hall, the white cloth that he had just thrown into the trash can, with a corner still sticking out, was slowly sucked into the trash can as if something was pulling it.
