Chapter 7

Chapter 7

The bell for the last class of the morning rang, and He Xi took out his lunch box from his bag.

The aroma of rice is right before my eyes.

She is a little hungry.

The girl was not in a hurry to enjoy it right away. She tapped her toes under the table, tapped her fingers on the table twice in excitement, stretched her neck, hummed a song, and her eyes extended from the window to the corridor outside the classroom door, eagerly, expectantly, and cautiously.

A gust of wind blew, and a strong young man walked out from behind the pillar. He had long arms and legs, and a lazy expression on his handsome face under his flowing bangs. He strode towards the classroom with big strides.

The girl's eyes moved down and saw that the bony hand was holding a large bag full of snacks, drawing a light arc in the air.

A bright smile appeared on He Xi's lips, and he quickly looked away.

The slightly open door of the classroom was pushed open.

The girl sitting by the window sat upright, lowered her head and waved the lunch box in her hand.

Bai Shu also walked to the seat with snacks and sat down.

At this moment, there were only two of them in the quiet classroom.

There were two teenagers, one tore a big hole in the whole grain biscuits in his hand, and the other quietly opened his lunch box and put it aside.

One of them grabbed a handful of biscuits and put them in his mouth, chewing them with a crunching sound.

He stared straight ahead, swallowed unconsciously, scooped a mouthful of rice from the lunch box with a spoon, put it into his mouth, and chewed mechanically.

Bai Shu's entire attention was on the pack of biscuits in his hand at the moment. The satisfying solid feeling of carbohydrates and the faint sweet aroma of whole grains melted in his mouth, and there was a scent of milk at the end of his chewing.

Delicious! Bai Shu sighed, narrowed his eyes, and a worthless smile was clearly shown on his face.

He can make an ordinary pack of biscuits taste like happiness!

He Xi placed his palms lightly on the boy's face and stared at his eyelids.

It’s so easy for him to be happy!

There are such simple and contented people in this world!

Just watching him eat can make people feel a sense of security and satisfaction!

The girl stared at the boy motionlessly, mechanically feeding her mouthful of rice, not even realizing when the food was at the bottom.

The spoon made a clinking sound when it hit the inside of the lunch box. He Xi then looked down and saw that - it was all eaten.

Eat it all.

He Xi looked at the empty lunch box, then at the boy who was devouring the food with relish, his eyes widened in disbelief.

There is no feeling of vomiting at all, not at all.

She deliberately lowered her throat to make retching sounds, but her body did not show any vomiting reaction.

The girl's watery eyes gradually revealed sparkling fragments of light. She tried hard to suppress her inner joy and smiled secretly behind her palms.

He Xi decided that he would just watch Bai Shu’s eating broadcast while eating from now on!

As he boarded the bus to the gymnasium again, Wei Mo's eyes unconsciously searched for a small figure.

The girl in a dress was sitting quietly on a chair at the back, with her head lowered like an ostrich. She was as timid as she was pretty.

I don’t know if it’s because I came at the wrong time, but this bus was packed with people today.

Wei Mo's gaze passed through the crowded crowd, circled the bus, and his disappointment disappeared.

...Today...she is not here.

How come the bus journey felt a bit lonely without her?

Wei Mo reached into his pocket for his phone and swiped it without much interest. A message popped up on the phone: "Battery is less than 20%, please connect the charging cable immediately."

never mind.

Wei Mo put the cell phone back into his pocket. He hummed a song lazily and looked around.

There is no time to relax at all.

"don't want--"

Suddenly, a soft cry was heard in the crowded carriage. Wei Mo's ears moved, and he thought he was hallucinating.

"Let...let go..." Another cry.

Wei Mo straightened his leaning body and glanced at the faces of every passenger standing, sitting, squatting or standing in the bus, revealing fatigue, laziness, and carelessness on their faces, with curiosity and expectation flashing in his eyes. He turned his back to the people with their faces blocked, and looked naturally at ease as if nothing had happened.

Wei Mo's heart sank. He quietly pushed his way through the crowd and walked inside, wanting to get a clear look.

“…Don’t…Wu——” The delicate voice revealed helplessness and fear.

Wei Mo suddenly got in between the two passengers, stretched out his hand and grabbed it tightly.

"Hey, hey, hey, you stinky pervert, I caught you!"

Wei Mo lowered his head, just about to take a look at what the shameless hooligan looked like.

Suddenly I saw an unexpected figure.

The girl in the dress straightened herself up and squatted on the ground as if she could not hold on any longer, tears streaming down her face.

It was actually... her.

Wei Mo was stunned for a moment, then he pulled the rascal over and kicked him hard in the leg without restraint.

The short man was kicked aside, begging for mercy repeatedly, "I was wrong," "I was wrong." Wei Mo raised his arm and pretended to slap him, but he stopped when he heard the girl crying.

Wei Mo didn't want to let him go, but unfortunately the car door opened at this time.

"If I see you being dishonest again, I'll knock your teeth out! Get out!"

It was not known whether the man heard it or not, but he shook his clasped hands and jumped out of the car as if escaping.

The car door closed, and the passengers in the car seemed to notice what was happening and turned their heads.

Concerned voices came one after another: "Are you okay, little girl?" "Are you okay?" "It's over, don't cry."

Wei Mo also squatted down at this time. The faint sweet fragrance from the girl reached his nose, making him sniff greedily?

Then he remembered what he wanted to say: "...you..."

Words of concern kept coming back to his mind, but Wei Mo didn't know what to say to show his concern without scaring the other person.

The girl raised her head hesitantly and cautiously, and under his motionless gaze, she quickly said "thank you" and turned her head away.

A pair of eyes as beautiful as gems and as bright as stars flashed in Wei Mo's eyes.

Wei Mo's heart trembled.

“…N-Never mind…”

Wei Mo responded dryly, moved his numb legs and stood up, silently protecting her within his range.

He pretended to look around carelessly, but as soon as there was a slight movement from the other side, his eyes would immediately be on the girl.

The other party seemed to sense something and moved his head while looking at the glass window.

The picturesque scenery outside flashed by, but the girl's face was always clearly reflected on the glass window. The blurred outline outlined a faint beauty.

Wei Mo stared and stared, losing his mind.

He Xi went home and put down his schoolbag.

In the kitchen, Zhang Chaomei finished cooking the last of the vegetarian dishes, turned off the stove, and brought the dishes into the living room while craning her neck and saying, "It's time to eat!"

"Oh! Here I come~"

He Xi came out after washing his hands. Zhang Chaomei wiped her hands on her apron, opened her schoolbag, took out her lunch box, and said, "I've eaten all the lunch I brought recently."

He Xi hummed twice, with a rare hint of pleasure at the end of the tone.

It seems that this kid is in a good mood recently!

"Good, good." Zhang Chaomei nodded with satisfaction and added, "You're awesome!"

He Xi was stunned.

Zhang Guimei continued, "You're awesome for eating all the food and not wasting it!"

He Xi's cheeks flushed at the praise, and thinking of Bai Shu's eating show, he rubbed his head shyly, "It's not all my own hard work!"

The white tree also deserves some credit, she whispered to herself.

He Xi’s biggest improvement recently is eating well.

Have a good meal with Bai Shu.

On Sunday afternoon, a large number of students flocked to school after their holidays.

Ms. Zhang Chaomei was working overtime today and couldn't get away to cook for He Xi. He Xi only knew how to cook a few dishes, so he took the change given by Zhang Chaomei and planned to go to the vicinity of the school to eat.

She went back to school first to put her schoolbag away.

As soon as you leave the school gate, you can smell an enticing fragrance from a distance.

Less than 200 meters away is a food street filled with snack stalls: fried rice, cumin roasted gluten, bamboo tube rice dumplings, fruit salad, fried skewers and pancakes...

"It smells so good!" exclaimed a few students passing by.

"That's right, I wasn't hungry at first, but now I'm craving it... Hey, they're selling cuttlefish balls over there, let's go buy some!"

"Okay, okay."

He Xi was also a little tempted, but continued to walk up.

Passing by the stationery store, milk tea shop, and barber shop, and turning a corner, there is a night market street with stalls selling wolf tooth potatoes and restaurants selling fried noodles and stir-fried dishes.

He Xi stopped at a Sichuan restaurant.

I remember that last time, Lu Xiaoyue, a boarding student, asked Chen Linlin, a day student, to bring lunch and specifically mentioned this restaurant, saying it was "delicious and cheap."

This restaurant is run by a couple. The husband cooks outside and the wife greets customers inside.

Billowing smoke rose before his eyes. The boss swept the residue in the pot with a small broom, skillfully heated the oil in the pot, poured in the vegetables and seasonings, and stirred the wok with a "clang clang clang" sound.

It's dinner time now.

The stove was crowded with people. The boss was busy cooking. From time to time, he wiped the sweat from his face with the towel around his neck and asked the customers in the back what they wanted to eat.

When it was He Xi's turn, she was a little hesitant. First, she didn't know what to eat, and second, she was afraid the queue would be a bit long.

Just as I was about to turn around, a familiar voice suddenly came from behind me, "Boss, give me a serving of twice-cooked pork!"

He Xi turned around suddenly and saw Bai Shu had bent down and gone in through the door curtain. He sat down at the outermost table in the store and put the schoolbag on the seat.

"Little girl, what do you want to eat?" the boss asked again and handed her the menu of the store.

This time He Xi didn't hesitate, "Let's have a Kung Pao Chicken Rice Bowl!"

"Okay." The boss poured her a glass of water and said, "Come in and sit down first."

He Xi went up the stairs, walked past Bai Shu, and sat in the seat closest to the inside.

Wei Mo covered his eyes with his hands, and swayed his head back and forth on his arms, trying hard to maintain the appearance of listening attentively.

Finally, he couldn't hold on any longer and fell down, hitting his head on the table, making a... "Ma" sound?

As if someone poured cold water on him, Wei Mo immediately woke up, put his hand on his dazed forehead, and blinked hard.

Before he could figure it out, he suddenly heard a muffled laugh.

Gently, like a feather brushing past your ear.

Wei Mo knew without even looking that it was from his deskmate Lin Shenyuan. He turned his head unhappily, "Funny?"

There was also displeasure in the lazy voice.

"No, no, no! That's not funny at all!"

Wei Mo also gave him a way out and said, "Really? What's so funny?" Isn't it just... taking a nap... kissing... on the table...

Also, look how scared he is. Is he really that scary?
