Chapter 130 The Road to Scavenging

The sky above the Chaos Realm was still adorned with psychic explosions, a dazzling display of fireworks. But for the mech pilots struggling for survival on the battlefield, it was an endless battleground. Bai Zang's mech, the Gu Master, was like a dodgeball, hovering close to the ground, silently slithering through the shadows of the battlefield. As he controlled the mech, he muttered quietly, "Mice don't need courage, only patience and insight."

He tapped the control panel lightly, and the insect poison program activated. Circles of hidden psychic energy rippled out, scanning every corner of the battlefield. A string of data quickly popped up on the screen: "Target mechas disabled: 3, loot boxes: 2, danger level: low."

"I'm lucky today," Bai Zang said, his lips curling slightly as he maneuvered the mech towards the location marked by the scan. He avoided areas of active fighting, weaving precisely through the wreckage. Every step was cautious, fearing any psychic fragments that might conceal a trap.

In the center of the battlefield, several mechas lay sprawled on the ground, their psychic glow gone. Debris scattered across the ground, like the stage for a recently concluded farce. Bai Zang's mecha's mechanical arm swiftly extended, carefully picking up a fragment of the psychic core. As he operated, he muttered under his breath, "These giants fought each other to such a pitched defeat, and in the end, didn't I get the upper hand?"

The robotic arm worked nimbly, and soon his warehouse was filled with several more pieces of loot: two small psychic cores, a component of a virtual light blade, and a fully functional psychic combat module. Although the total value of these items was not high, for Bai Zang, it was enough to save up some starting funds for the next battle.

Just as he was about to retreat, a psychic signal lit up at the edge of the screen. His gaze was drawn to the distant ruins, where a mech was lurching unsteadily. It was clearly severely damaged, its psychic shields completely extinguished, and its movement was as slow as a toothless tiger.

"Oh wow, there's still one that slipped through the net?" Bai Zang narrowed his eyes, revealing a meaningful smile. He tapped the control panel lightly, and the poison program instantly activated. A familiar progress bar appeared on the screen: "Poison invasion... 70%... 90%... 100%."

The mech's pilot had clearly sensed something, and the screen showed him desperately trying to reboot his system, attempting to halt the poison's infestation. However, Bai Zang's program was no joke. Within seconds, the mech was completely paralyzed, frozen in place like a soulless shell.

"Thank you for your generous donation," Bai Zang sneered, manipulating the mech closer. Its robotic arms precisely dismantled the opponent's psychic core components, also looting several combat subroutines.

The sky of the chaotic area was still shining with the light of psychic explosions. Bai Zang's mecha "Gu Master" was moving flexibly among the ruins. His fingers danced quickly on the control panel. The data and red alarms jumping on the screen made his face even gloomier.

"High-level psychic signal approaching! Danger level: high!"

"Damn it! This is happening!" Bai Zang cursed under his breath and quickly turned around. A dazzling beam of psychic energy immediately appeared on the screen, heading straight for his mecha. He suddenly controlled the mecha to activate the psychic barrier, but could only watch helplessly as the beam tore through the barrier and blasted the mecha's left mechanical arm into pieces.

"Gu Master, I've been waiting for you for a long time!" The other party's voice came through the communication channel, filled with undisguised anger. Bai Zang was stunned for a moment, then immediately realized, "It's over, someone is holding a grudge against me!"

"Do we have some deep-seated grudge? Is it necessary to chase me like this?" he muttered to himself, quickly maneuvering his mech back. The insect poison program activated, and the screen displayed "Interference in Progress." However, the enemy's defenses were incredibly powerful, and the interference only reduced his psychic response efficiency by 20%.

Another beam of light struck, directly severing the left leg component of Bai Zang's mecha. His health bar flickered on the screen, leaving less than half.

"You can't escape, Gu Master!" the high-level mecha roared, charging forward with overwhelming force. Bai Zang gritted his teeth and activated all backup programs, forcibly generating a cloud of virtual interference smoke that obscured the surrounding area. Simultaneously, he quickly maxed out the power, and the mecha dragged a long gray streak along the ground as it sped away into the distance.

"God help me not to get caught, or I'll lose my life here!" Bai Zang glanced at the remaining health bar, and his back was covered in cold sweat due to nervousness.

The pursuers clearly didn't want to let him go easily. Psionic beams continuously exploded behind Bai Zang, sending up fragments and flames. The shockwaves from some of the explosions sent Bai Zang's mech tumbling through the air, but he managed to dodge each blow with his precise and experienced control.

"Faster, faster!" Bai Zang stared at the map on the screen. The ruins were just ahead. He suddenly stepped on the power control panel, and the mecha's speed increased again. With a huge noise and sparks, it rushed into the ruins.

The chaotic terrain of the ruins gave him a chance to breathe. He quickly hid his mech in a collapsed virtual building, holding his breath and staring intently at the radar. The light of a high-level mech lingered on the screen for a long time, seemingly overwhelmed by the complex terrain, and finally gave up the search, gradually fading away.

Bai Zang slumped in the mecha's seat, his chest heaving violently, his face a look of exhaustion from surviving a catastrophe. His health bar was reduced to a pitiful red line, and several pieces of loot in the warehouse had been damaged by the tremors and explosions. He shook his head helplessly, but a self-deprecating smile played at the corner of his mouth.

"These days are getting more and more exciting." He muttered as he looked at the list of surviving spoils displayed on the screen. "I can also make a little money. It's not all in vain."

He slowly retreated from the Chaos Zone as the light from the screen reflected on his face, which was cold and stubborn. He knew that every entry into the Chaos Zone was a risk, but for him, it was the only way to survive.

"Maybe it's time to change places." He whispered, his voice full of fatigue and a hint of unyielding tenacity.

Meanwhile, far away on the other end of the psychic network, the pilot of the high-level mecha angrily tapped the communication panel: "How did this guy get away so quickly? I'll definitely catch him next time!"
