Chapter 7: The Idiots and the Prodigies Around Me

"Haha, look at this guy," the second disciple said softly, nudging his companion with his elbow. "What a blockhead! He looks like a mecha idiot."

Xiang Fan didn't notice, nor did he respond. His gaze remained fixed on the basic mecha on the podium, his expression focused, as if everything around him had nothing to do with him. He licked his lips lightly, his eyes revealing a certain almost fanatical desire, and muttered to himself, "If only I could try..."

At the same time, the instructor's voice rang out again, echoing clearly throughout the classroom: "The stability of spiritual energy transmission is the core of basic sword stance. This not only affects the accuracy of the sword, but also directly affects the efficiency of the operator's spiritual energy consumption."

As he continued his explanation, the mech's arms unfolded, and a sword blade emerged from its armor, emitting a stream of radiant sword energy. Aura patterns instantly illuminated, and the sword light sliced through the air, leaving a nearly perfect arc. The entire classroom fell silent, everyone holding their breath, watching the mech's movements.

"If the delay in the transmission of spiritual energy could be reduced by another 0.1 seconds, this movement could be even faster..." Xiang Fan muttered softly, his eyes thick with calculation. His fingers subconsciously traced the buttons on the control panel on his knees, as if the entire mecha's operating interface were right at his fingertips, as real as if he were touching it himself.

The two disciples, completely absorbed in their own expansive conversation, took no notice of Xiang Fan's demeanor. Their conversation spiraled further and further out of control, the "Zero Point" they were referring to becoming some mysterious genius, towering over everything from afar. Meanwhile, Xiang Fan carefully pulled a small cloth bag from his bosom, unwrapping it to reveal a few slices of slightly shrunken pickled vegetables. He picked one up and put it in his mouth, chewing gently, his gaze fixed on the mecha on the podium.

"The basic mecha's power transmission system is still a bit outdated," he muttered softly, his expression focused. "If the spiritual energy interface is moved to the left rear, the transmission efficiency may be improved a little..."

He was completely immersed in his own world, sketching out a series of improved models in his mind. He had no interest in the heated discussions of others, nor did he realize that the "zero point" they were talking about was actually himself.

After the lecturer's demonstration, the classroom erupted in applause. Xiang Fan, however, was still lost in thought. He swallowed the last piece of pickled vegetable, clapped his hands in satisfaction, and then reached out to touch the steamed bun crumbs on his pants, as if to make sure not a single bit had been wasted.

At this moment, Xiang Fan was so ordinary he was almost comical. While those around him were either excited or in awe, he was filled with a single-minded obsession and passion for the mecha itself. In his heart, he was already preparing for the next class. His purity and focus were a rare gift in this world.
