Chapter 26 Alien Invasion

"What's going on?" Yu Kai and his companions asked hurriedly when they saw Academician Fang and his companions' faces turned pale.

"This is the highest alert!" Academician Fang said solemnly.

"Old Fang, hurry back to the command center!" Old Chen shouted to Academician Fang, his voice filled with anxiety.

"Yes! Yes! Come on, let's go to the command center!" Academician Fang woke up as if from a dream, rushed towards the vehicle quickly, staggering and almost falling.

"What's going on? Are they calling from the United States?" Wu Xiaohu grabbed a researcher, his eyes wide open.

"No! This is not an alarm of invasion from another country, it is an alarm of the atmospheric barrier being broken." The researcher answered hurriedly, his voice urgent, "Go, go to the command center to confirm what happened!" He broke free from Wu Xiaohu's hand and followed the crowd to the command center.

"Young Master!" Li Yuening looked at Yu Kai and asked, his eyes full of worry.

"Let's go and take a look!" Yu Kai picked up Zhu Bei'er and followed.

The base's command center was in a state of panic. An elderly researcher, staring at the large screen in the center, paced back and forth with a hurried pace and a furrowed brow. Upon seeing Academician Fang and the others enter, he immediately approached them. "Academician Fang, come and see what this is?" his voice was filled with anxiety and confusion.

Yu Kai and the others also walked in, drawn to the large screen. Satellite footage showed a giant metal wheel slowly spinning.

"Is this a flying saucer?" Wu Xiaohu shouted directly, his voice sounding particularly abrupt in the quiet command center.

"Has this matter been reported to the central government?" Academician Fang looked at the old man with a serious expression.

"It has been reported and the footage has been transmitted!" The old man responded immediately, with beads of sweat on his forehead.

"Mr. Fang, the central government's order is for us to pay close attention. The leaders will come to the base soon." A scientific researcher came over with a document. His voice was steady but he could not hide his nervousness.

"Okay! Let the surrounding satellites take full-angle shots and conduct detection in all aspects at the same time!" Academician Fang gave the order in a firm and decisive voice.

"Lao Fang! Look at what it is doing?" Old Chen stared at the screen without blinking. He saw a ball of light emerging from above the huge flying butterfly, and then released a light curtain. The light curtain quickly spread and spread to the entire earth. Soon the entire planet was shrouded in it.

"What are they going to do?" Academician Fang looked at everyone, his eyes filled with worry and confusion. Everyone else shook their heads in confusion, and the atmosphere was extremely depressing.

"Why does this light curtain look like a huge cage? Are we blocked?" Wu Xiaohu said, touching his sparse hair, with a trembling in his voice.

"What?" Academician Fang was startled, his face turning pale. "Immediately drive a weather satellite into contact with the light curtain!"

"Yes!" a researcher replied immediately. Several other researchers were seen working on their computers, their fingers darting across the keyboards, their expressions focused. A picture flashed across the central screen, showing a weather satellite gradually drifting off course, hurtling towards the light curtain. The satellite itself seemed incredibly tiny.

Everyone held their breath, their eyes fixed on the screen, hoping that all their guesses would be wrong. The satellite kept moving and was tightly connected to the light screen. The imagined collision did not happen, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"No! Look!" Yu Kai keenly noticed that the satellite was being melted by the light curtain, and soon the entire satellite turned into a piece of liquid metal and scattered around.

The entire command center was eerily silent, as if time had stood still. Everyone realized the severity of the situation. "Quick! Report to the central government immediately! And encrypt and transmit the footage," Academician Fang's voice broke the silence.

"Hmm! The United States launches a rocket at this time? Did he also discover this behemoth?" Academician Fang stared at the satellite image next to him with a deep look, and fell into deep thought.

"We used the space station to set up a barrier in the atmosphere so that we could know of their arrival so quickly. How did the people in the United States know about it so quickly and react?" Old Chen asked puzzledly. He crossed his arms over his chest and paced back and forth, his face full of confusion.

"Let's see first what they are going to do." Academician Fang frowned, staring at the big screen, and asked the person next to him, "Are the leaders coming soon? What arrangements does the central government have?" His voice was a little anxious, and the wrinkles on his forehead deepened.

"Mr. Fang, the Central Military Commission has just issued a Level 1 combat readiness order at the Nantianmen Construction Base! Commander Xue and his men are already mobilizing." A staff member said quickly, his voice tense and serious.

"Good! As long as you are prepared!" Academician Fang nodded, his tense expression eased a little, but the worry in his eyes was still strong.

"Look, they are descending very quickly!" A researcher zoomed in on the image and shouted.

"So fast, they are heading towards the American rocket!" The scientific researchers who control the satellite are constantly busy in front of the computer, their fingers typing rapidly on the keyboard, their foreheads covered with sweat, trying hard to capture the moving images of the flying saucer.

Everyone watched as a laser beam shot forth from the UFO, its brightness as if tangible. The approaching rocket was struck and exploded, transforming into a massive fireball that illuminated half the sky. The UFO continued its downward trajectory, rapidly descending towards the United States like a falling meteor.

The atmosphere in the command center became increasingly solemn. Everyone stared at the screen, their hearts filled with anxiety and worry.

"Has this started a war?" Wu Xiaohu's voice rang out again. "They must have mistaken the American rockets for an attack on themselves." His eyes widened, and he involuntarily shrank back.

"Report what just happened to the Central Military Commission immediately!" Academician Fang said in a deep voice with a serious expression.

"Old Fang, what's going on? Why are we at Level 1 combat readiness when everything's fine? A lot of my deployments aren't complete yet." The speaker was Xue Hai, the military commander of the Nantianmen Construction Base. He had come running over after receiving the deployment order, his forehead beaded with sweat and his expression anxious.

"Commander Xue, look!" Academician Fang pointed at the rapidly descending UFO, his fingers trembling slightly.

"This... this... is this an alien UFO?" Xue Hai stammered, his eyes wide open, his face filled with shock. The staff behind him were all filled with disbelief, whispering and discussing.

"This is unbelievable! Is it true that alien life is going to invade us?"

"What should we do? Can our defense withstand it?"

"Don't panic, let's see what happens first."

The entire command center fell into tension.
