Chapter 37 Mutation

At the Nantianmen Construction Base, everyone cheered as the alien mecha departed, their shouts of excitement rising higher and higher. However, Commander No. 1, Academician Fang, and the returning Academician Chao all wore frowns. Their faces showed no trace of joy, but instead were shrouded in deep worry, like a thick, gloomy haze.

"What do you mean by the genetic bomb the alien mecha just mentioned?" Commander No. 1 looked at the two and spoke first. His voice was low and serious, his eyes revealing an anxious and solemn expression, as if this was a matter of life and death.

"I guess it was the bomb dropped by the first wave of alien mechas before they left!" Academician Fang responded, touching his chin. His brows were furrowed like deep ravines, his eyes were filled with deep worry, and the wrinkles on his forehead seemed to be engraved with the vicissitudes and anxiety of the years.

"What kind of harm does the genetic bomb have? Why are these alien mechas a little afraid of it!" Academician Chao Tian thought seriously, he folded his hands on his chest and paced back and forth quickly.

"Genes, genes, it must be something that can change the body. Look at it piercing into the ground and then emitting smoke. It must be transmitted through the air!" Academician Fang continued, his tone carrying a hint of speculation and uncertainty, his voice trembling slightly, revealing his inner uneasiness.

"Quick! Immediately order the troops heading there to wear masks! At the same time, order them to collect air samples! Completely block the area around southern Hunan, and no one is allowed to enter. Anyone coming out must be immediately isolated and observed!" Commander No. 1 gave the order immediately. His voice was decisive and resolute, and there was no room for hesitation.

A guard saluted respectfully and walked out as fast as lightning.

Chao Tian walked over to the big screen and looked at the scattered mecha shards, the wrecked fighter, and Yu Kai, broken in two. His heart felt like it had been struck by a sledgehammer, and he was overcome with grief. Tears welled up in his eyes, ready to burst at any moment. His lips trembled slightly, as if silently expressing his inner sorrow.

"Old Chao, cheer up. This also shows the gap between us and the aliens. We need to work harder! Only when we are strong, they will not dare to act recklessly!" Academician Fang stepped forward and patted him on the back to comfort him. Although his voice was gentle, his eyes were extremely firm, as if burning with an unyielding flame.

Leader No. 1 stepped forward, his eyes full of determination and resolve, "Academician Fang is right, the country still needs you, you all must cheer up! We can't be defeated by this setback, we must learn lessons from failure and catch up." They glanced at the big screen, their eyes full of grief and respect, as if that gaze could penetrate time and space, seeing the unyielding figures of countless heroes.

"They're all excellent. They haven't brought shame upon our Dragon Nation! They deserve our respect!" Commander No. 1's voice trembled slightly, filled with deep affection and pride. "Every soldier is a hero. Their sacrifice will not be in vain. We will remember their dedication and courage, and use them as motivation to keep moving forward. One day, we will have enough strength to resist any alien invasion!"

In southern Hunan, a deep, inky night enveloped this war-torn land. Countless helicopters crisscrossed the night sky, their propellers emitting a deafening roar like thunder, shattering the night's silence. The helicopters' searchlights swept the ground, creating intersecting beams of light that shattered the darkness.

They kept on transporting and rescuing people, their busy figures looking particularly tense and anxious under the lights. The ground was full of armed police and rescue teams, they were dressed in uniforms, wearing helmets, and walking hurriedly.

Armed police maintained order, their postures erect like pine trees, their gazes resolute as steel, ensuring the smooth progress of the rescue effort. Rescue teams raced against time, searching the rubble for the injured. Their shouts and the clatter of tools mingled like a passionate war song. The wounded were meticulously carried out of the rubble, placed on stretchers, and then quickly moved. The scene was breathtakingly tense.

Medical staff busied themselves with bandaging and administering intravenous fluids to the wounded at a makeshift medical station. Their movements were deft and swift, sweat pouring down their foreheads. Some seriously injured were rushed to ambulances, their sirens echoing through the night sky, piercing and heartbreaking.

The scene was filled with smoke and a tense atmosphere. Everyone's face was filled with fatigue and anxiety, but there was still a determined light shining in their eyes, as if they were a torch that would never go out, and they would not give up any hope of saving lives.

Under the cover of night, the animals seemed restless, and the once tranquil forest was now filled with an eerie atmosphere. Countless birds' eyes began to glow a strange red, a glow that burned like hellfire in the darkness, terrifying them. Their bodies grew rapidly, their bones emitting a chilling crackling sound like the whispers of a demon, and their muscles bulged at a visible speed, transforming them into bloodthirsty birds of prey.

Their beaks became incredibly hard, gleaming with an icy sheen in the moonlight, as if they could easily pierce steel. Their claws became incredibly sharp, like daggers, and every swing of their claws created a gust of wind.

Similar changes occurred in the various animals on the ground. The once docile hares swelled several times their size, their fangs protruding from their mouths, their eyes filled with madness and bloodlust, as if transformed into demons from the abyss. The foxes' fur grew as hard as armor, their tails as powerful as steel whips, each lash whipping up a gust of wind. Even the usually timid mice grew to enormous sizes, their fur bristling and their mouths emitting deep growls, as if they were about to devour the world.
