Under the pity of the old lady all the way, Jiang Weidong got off the bus and couldn't wait to pull Lin Wangshu off. He couldn't stand the old lady looking at him like he was being sized up.
By the time they arrived at the pier, it was already quite late, and when Jiang Weidong went to the window to buy a ticket, there were no tickets left.
"Hey, Weidong, you've brought your wife back to Commander Jiang, haven't you?"
The ticket seller clearly recognized Jiang Weidong, but didn't see Lin Wangshu's face; she only knew she was a girl.
Jiang Weidong laughed. Sure enough, everyone thought Lin Wangshu looked like his wife; the old lady just had bad eyesight.
"Brother Wang, it's me!"
Lin Wangshu leaned closer and spoke to the ticket seller.
"Oh my, it's Wangshu! You've really changed a lot since you grew up. I didn't recognize you at all. But I wasn't wrong just now, was I?"
The ticket seller looked at them and teased them with a smile, saying that the people on the island often joked that Lin Wangshu was Jiang Weidong's young wife, and they had heard about it too.
"Brother Wang, we'd better head out now," Jiang Weidong said somewhat apologetically.
They stayed at the guesthouse at the pier, preparing to wait for the boat to take them to the island early the next morning.
In the morning, Jiang Weidong got breakfast and knocked on Lin Wangshu's door. After they finished eating, they stood on the shore waiting for the boat to arrive.
"Weidong, look, isn't that Mom?" Lin Wangshu patted Jiang Weidong's arm excitedly.
"It really is true. What is Mom doing off the island so early? Is she here to pick us up?" Jiang Weidong wondered.
Lin Wangshu knew why, but she couldn't tell him. She could only wave and shout to An Jie, "Mom, I'm here!"
When Anjie heard the voice, she looked over and was pleasantly surprised to see them.
When they reached An Jie, Jiang Weidong asked her in confusion, "Mom, what are you doing here? What happened?"
Upon hearing this, Anjie couldn't hold back her emotions and burst into tears, burying her face in his shoulder.
"Weidong, your dad has another son!"
