Before Lin Wangshu received An Ran's call, Jiang Weidong had already called her, telling her not to leave the school gates for the next few days under any circumstances.
Lin Wangshu could tell from his voice on the phone that something was wrong; it carried a hint of ruthlessness, and she couldn't help but feel a little worried.
"Wei Dong, don't do anything foolish. It's not worth it for Jiang Changyi."
That year, Lin Wangshu only sprained her ankle, but Jiang Weidong, in a fit of rage, beat her to death. This time, Jiang Changyi dares to use Lin Wangshu as a ladder to climb higher; no one knows what Jiang Weidong is capable of.
Jiang Weidong knew he had frightened Lin Wangshu. Although he knew she couldn't see, he still immediately put on a smile.
"Little Moon, don't worry, I'm all grown up now and I know what I'm doing."
He whispered a few more words of comfort before hanging up the phone.
Lin Wangshu, however, seemed worried. She didn't believe Jiang Weidong's words. Although he had grown up, it also meant he was stronger and more ruthless. She was genuinely afraid that Jiang Weidong would hurt him.
The next day, Lin Wangshu thought about it and decided to go to the Red Star Guesthouse, hoping to at least stop him there.
Shen Jiaojiao had been itching to go and see what was going on, and when she saw Lin Wangshu nod, she immediately pulled her along to set off.
Inside the Red Star Guesthouse, Wang Tao sat in a chair, his eyes cold, and said to Jiang Changyi, who was pouring him water, "Are we really going to meet here? Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
"How about I find a place for us to have a meal together?"
Jiang Changyi placed the water in front of him and smiled meaningfully, "No need to trouble yourself, it's more convenient here."
Wang Tao scoffed, lowering his eyes to conceal his disdain.
Convenient? Convenient for what? Convenient for him to force himself on her?
Jiang Changyi was mistaking him for a spoiled brat who only knew how to indulge in wine and women.
Wang Tao was furious. Jiang Changyi dared to play him like this. If he didn't destroy him, how could he ever face anyone again?
Wang Tao pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and casually handed one to Jiang Changyi, saying, "Brother, if this works out, you'll be my brother-in-law from now on. Just let me know if you need anything."
Hearing his assurance, Jiang Changyi's nostrils flared with excitement. He quickly reached out to take the gift and said politely, "Of course, of course. We're family now."
Seeing that he was holding a cigarette but not smoking it, Wang Tao struck another match and lit the cigarette for him himself.
Jiang Changyi looked flattered and quickly bent down to get closer.
After the smoke drifted out, Wang Tao stood up, walked to the window, raised his arm, looked at his watch, and made a show of impatience.
"The people are coming soon, you should leave now and not get in the way."
Jiang Changyi nodded, giving him an "I understand" look. "Okay, don't worry, I'm right next door. Just let me know if you need anything."
After the door closed, Wang Tao sneered, "You're going to die. You dare to scheme against him? Why don't you go out and find out his name?"
Soon Jiang Weidong and Liang Jianhua also came in. Upon smelling the smoke, Zheng Jianhua quickly covered his nose, "Why hasn't the smell dissipated yet?"
Wang Tao rolled his eyes. "What are you afraid of? It's just a little bit, it won't hurt if you smell it."
Jiang Weidong glanced at the wall separating him from Jiang Changyi. "Is this medicine effective?"
Wang Tao already disliked him, and upon hearing his questioning words, he immediately exploded, "What do you mean? If you don't trust me, why did you come to me?"
Jiang Weidong didn't give a friendly look to those who coveted his Little Moon either, and snorted, "I'm just asking a question, what are you so guilty about?"
"You..." Wang Tao was so anxious that he was about to roll up his sleeves, but Zheng Jianhua quickly stepped forward to stop him.
"Don't be angry, don't be angry, we're all brothers."
Wang Tao was just putting on an act, after all, he had heard Zheng Jianhua say that Jiang Weidong was the best fighter in their class, and he couldn't beat him.
Therefore, when Zheng Jianhua stopped him, he readily sat back down, but he was unwilling to suffer a loss, saying, "I'm doing this for your sake."
Jiang Weidong nodded in agreement, grinning smugly, "Indeed, we're all brothers. When Wang Shu and I get married, I'll send you all invitations."
"This is too much!" Wang Tao pointed at Jiang Weidong, his face flushed with anger, and complained to Zheng Jianhua.
Seeing that Jiang Weidong was about to burst into tears of anger, Zheng Jianhua quickly patted him and said, "You should say less."
Jiang Weidong achieved his goal, his anger subsided, and he obediently shut up.
When he finally heard some noise from next door, Wang Tao chuckled and said, "It's done. Let's make the call."
Zheng Jianhua sat down next to the phone, picked up the receiver and dialed the nearby police station, "Hello, I want to report someone in room 401 of the Hongxing Guesthouse who is having an improper relationship with a woman and there may be money involved."
Jiang Weidong sat motionless to the side, and after Liang Jianhua hung up the phone, he slowly curled the corners of his mouth into a smile.
Seeing his reaction, Wang Tao clicked his tongue and sighed, "That's your own cousin next door, how can you be so heartless?"
Jiang Weidong gave him a cold look. "You feel sorry for him?"
Wang Tao was taken aback and muttered under his breath, "Why should I feel sorry for her? She's not my cousin."
Jiang Weidong pretended not to hear, quietly watching the hands of his watch turn, his face as calm as still water.
He had no feelings for An Ran; if it weren't for An Jie, he would be no different from a stranger.
His father pulled his family out of the mire, but instead of being grateful, he got involved with Jiang Changyi and even dared to help scheme against Lin Wangshu.
Since she herself doesn't care about this affection, Jiang Weidong cares even less. Whatever the outcome, it's all her own fault.
