Chapter 56 Cheap Apartments 10

He Tiantian pulled Shen Yizhou back home. "Are you feeling unwell? Why were you so impulsive?"

Shen Yizhou remained silent, his hand trembling as he lit a cigarette for himself.

When the landlady returned to the 5th floor, Wu Xiong took out his phone to call the police, but the old lady snatched the phone away.

"Wu Xiong! I'm warning you, if you cause me any more trouble, get out of here and don't stay here!"

"Hey, old lady, get this straight. I'm the one who got hit. I want to call the police and get my phone back."

"Aren't you worried this place is chaotic enough? Haven't we had enough police officers here already?!"

Wu Xiong spat out a mouthful of blood. He turned his head away without saying a word, thinking that he had just paid a year's rent and that if he was evicted, he would not be able to get his money back.

"Alright, alright, give me the phone and I'll let these two youngsters go this time."

The landlady returned the phone to him with some skepticism, and told him a few more times not to make so much noise before returning home with peace of mind.

Two cleaners were also watching the commotion, which made Wu Xiong even angrier. "What are you two looking at? Aren't you going to work or not?"

He went to the bathroom to look in the mirror, and the punch had swollen his face like a pig's head.

After all that commotion, the noise they made while cleaning finally subsided, and Shen Yizhou went back to his room to continue sleeping.

He Tiantian looked at him with some worry; this was the first time she had seen Shen Yizhou like this.

The landlady quietly walked to the door of room 404 and knocked.

He Tiantian opened the door when she saw that it was the landlady.

"Hey He, has your partner gone to bed?"

"Yes, what's wrong with the landlady?"

The landlady pulled her into the hallway. "I've already spoken to Wu Xiong. He won't cause you any trouble, but next time you see him, remember to avoid him. He's a complete scoundrel."

He Tiantian was very touched and kept thanking the landlady.

"By the way, Grandma, I wanted to ask who lives in apartment 603?"

"603? Oh, there's an androgynous girl living there, and she's so rude! She doesn't even greet me when she sees me."

"Huh? What do you mean by a girl who's neither male nor female?"

"Oh dear, she's clearly a young girl, but she tries to look like a boy, but she's quite wealthy and paid four years' rent upfront."

Upon hearing this, He Tiantian already knew in her heart that it was Li Rou's boyfriend.

The landlady started gossiping with her again, and halfway through the story, the elevator doors opened, revealing Zhang Yunmei.

He Tiantian didn't want to look at her at all, and went home after saying goodbye to the old woman.

Zhang Yunmei watched He Tiantian's retreating figure, never expecting that her plan would one day fail.

She clutched her stomach, pale-faced, and thought she needed to think of a better way.

He Tiantian was watching TV in the living room when a cold wind blew in from outside the window, and the sky turned dark and gloomy.

She got up and closed the window; a light drizzle was falling from the sky again.

A news report suddenly popped up on TV.

[Good afternoon, citizens. This is the weather forecast for the coming days. Temperatures will drop sharply in the next few days, accompanied by rain. Please stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.]

With a loud crash, a fierce storm began outside, making the windows creak and groan.

He Tiantian went to check the refrigerator and found that there was still quite a lot of food, but it wouldn't last for many days. She would have to find some time to restock.

The temperature suddenly dropped, accompanied by heavy rain; nobody wanted to go out in this kind of weather.

Wu Xiong lay in bed, feeling that Li Rou was still at home, and the room was filled with a gloomy atmosphere.

It was still windy and rainy outside, and I felt a little uneasy.

He knelt on the bed and said, "Li Rou, I didn't kill you. We were husband and wife, so don't try to scare me."

Wu Xiong clasped his hands together and bowed towards the spot where Li Rou had died.

With a loud bang! Wu Xiong was so frightened by the thunder that his whole body trembled. He muttered to himself again as he looked out the door.

"Oh dear, Li Rou, don't scare me. I have a clear conscience towards you. You should hurry up and be reincarnated, okay?"

The recliner in the living room began to rock; it was Li Rou's favorite place to be.

Upon hearing the sound of the recliner swaying, Wu Xiong plopped down on the bed, barely daring to breathe.

He slowly walked out of the living room. The living room window was open, and the wind outside was blowing the recliner.

Wu Xiong breathed a sigh of relief. He went to the living room, closed the windows, turned on all the lights in the house, and turned on the television.

The sound of the TV drama gradually eased his tension.

He watched the comedy with a grin, then took out three bottles of beer from the refrigerator.

Wu Xiong collapsed onto the sofa, feeling dizzy. The wind outside the window made him shiver, and he curled up on the sofa.

At noon, Shen Yizhou regained consciousness; his headache had finally subsided.

Stepping out of the living room, He Tiantian was still watching TV, completely absorbed.

"Would you like something to eat? I'll cook for you."

"Huh? You're awake? I'm starving!!"

Shen Yizhou didn't delay and went into the kitchen to start cooking. He took out the bag of snail rice noodles.
