Tang Hao comforted her, promising to come back and tell her as soon as he found out who it was.
The landlady covered her head and went upstairs.
Her apartment has been having some trouble lately, so she started praying to the gods as soon as she got home. No wonder the two Taoist priests were unwilling to help her.
The police gradually withdrew, leaving Tang Hao alone downstairs, where he stood in the lobby smoking.
He still hasn't found Li Rou's killer, and now another murder has occurred, right here in his neighborhood. It's a bit disrespectful to him.
Tang Hao shook the coat in his hand, put it on, and went to the police station.
Wang Lu watched the actions downstairs with a cold eye. He wasn't afraid at all. These people were nowhere to be found; only the couple in room 404 knew about them.
He Tiantian sat on the sofa, resting her chin on her hand. "I think it's Wu Xiong's body. Li Rou has already told me. Is there any way we can get to Wang Lu's house?"
"There are only five days left. Do you still want to get involved in these things? If you do, I'll find a way."
"Never mind, your injury hasn't healed yet. I was just kidding."
He Tiantian has grown up and is now more thoughtful in her actions. She can no longer rely on Shen Yizhou alone; they are a team!
The landlady went up to the fifth floor, stood at the top of the stairs for a moment, then went down to the fourth floor to room 404. She needed to talk to Xiao He to get over this.
She knocked on the door of room 404, "Hey Xiao He, this is my landlord!"
Upon hearing this, He Tiantian let the landlady in, and then the old woman began a one-hour-long venting session.
Shen Yizhou pursed his lips and walked into the room. He got a headache just hearing his grandmother's voice; it was so grating.
He Tiantian listened to the old woman in shock. It seemed that her guess was right. Li Rou really had appeared to her in a dream. She was now certain that the one who died was Wu Xiong.
"Grandma, what should we do now? Can we still ask a Taoist priest to perform a ritual?"
"I'm so annoyed by this. No Taoist priests are willing to do it. They all leave as soon as they enter the room."
Just then, the old lady's phone rang.
"Hello? Who is this?"
"Grandma, I am the resident of 603, and I want to terminate my lease."
"Okay, I'll go up now."
The old woman hung up the phone and sighed, "Xiao He, that androgynous girl in 603 said she wants to move out. I'll go upstairs for a bit and come find you later."
"603? Is that Wang Lu?"
"Yes, Xiao He, you know her."
"I don't know her. Grandma, come find me again later and tell me some gossip."
The old woman nodded, opened the door, and went out. Shen Yizhou, who had been hiding in the room, came out.
"Wang Lu is moving out?"
"Yes, that's what Grandma said. What was he thinking?"
The two fell silent at the same time. He Tiantian thought that he was afraid, which was why he terminated the lease. He was probably afraid that what he had done would be discovered.
The moving company was very fast. Wang Lu meant that the old lady didn't need to move out, and she could continue to find new tenants during this period; he wouldn't interfere.
This made the old lady extremely happy. After so many bad days, this was the first good thing. She smiled and saw Wang Lu off.
He Tiantian went to the windowsill and looked down. The moving company was moving things.
Two of the porters were carrying something strange, wrapped in four layers of cloth. They were both wearing masks and were carrying it with great resistance.
He Tiantian immediately became interested. She opened her phone camera and zoomed in on the thing. A hand reached down, and He Tiantian was so startled that her hand trembled.
She was holding a plain red ring in her hand. The ring looked familiar, but she couldn't quite place it.
The porters standing behind saw the hand reaching down and screamed in fright, quickly telling the two men to put the thing down.
Wang Lu noticed something was wrong, so he ran over to explain to the sanitation worker that it was his requested doll and that he shouldn't be too nervous.
The workers breathed a sigh of relief, saying they could understand the situation.
The move was completed quickly. Wang Lu didn't want some of the items, saying they could be left for the next tenant.
Before getting on the bus, he looked back at the window of 404 and his eyes met He Tiantian's.
He Tiantian's heart skipped a beat. Wang Lu's eyes seemed to say, "Just you wait."
She quickly drew the curtains, blocking Wang Lu's gaze.
Only when the sound of a sports car could be heard did He Tiantian dare to draw back the curtains; Wang Lu had indeed already left.
He Tiantian calmed herself down and sat on the sofa scrolling through her phone. She saw a post about dreams.
Suddenly, she remembered seeing that red ring in her dream, and that corpse was Li Rou?
She stood up and went back to her room to find Shen Yizhou, and told him about it.
"Do you think it's possible that Li Rou is asking me for help? But there's no reason for that, the funeral arrangements have already been made."
"You're probably overthinking it. Have you been dreaming about her lately?"
He Tiantian recalled, "It seems like I haven't had any dreams these past few days."
"You're overthinking it. There are only five days left, so don't worry about it. This is all just part of the story."
He Tiantian shrugged, went back to the living room, turned on the TV, and continued to think.
The landlady went to room 404 again and knocked on the door. "Xiao He, it's me. Please open the door."
He Tiantian jumped up and got off the sofa to open the door.
"Let me tell you, this Xiao Wang said he has to go home and that I don't need to get a refund of the rent, hehehe."
The old woman was so happy that wrinkles appeared on her face.
"Why is he so generous? Is he very rich?"
"You're absolutely right. I couldn't understand it either. Why would such a rich girl come to my cheap apartment?"
He Tiantian didn't say anything. She knew Wang Lu's purpose was for Li Rou. She was a devoted person, but a bit too perverted.
