Chapter 554: Journey to the West 13 (2/2)

Perhaps calling us "Ba 㹏" is not quite accurate. The king once said that we can be called the boss or the leader, but I'm afraid that if we call ourselves the leader, the Dragon Kings will be unhappy, and we can't afford to offend that kind of existence.

I was still waiting for the king to come back. New little demons gradually appeared in Xiangyang Cave. With helpers, I finally felt a little more relaxed. Suddenly, I remembered my previous job, patrolling the mountains. Setting out on this journey felt like revisiting an old place.

It feels quite amazing.

We walked all the way to Chenjia Village at the foot of the mountain. I remembered that it was here that I heard those two humans complaining about the king. I wondered if it was because of that complaint that the king's temperament changed drastically.

I shook my head and disguised my appearance. The king's mental method is really good. It has been hidden for so long!

After making sure I looked at him as an ordinary person, I walked slowly into the village.

But I was a little surprised to find that many houses in the village were dilapidated, and some had even collapsed due to disrepair.

At the end of the village, I finally saw people.

They seemed to be about the same age, and were a little nervous when they saw me, but when they saw my kind face, they started talking to me again. These young people were easy to get along with, and they even invited me to have a meal with them.

To be honest, I really like eating food cooked by humans. The same ingredients are used, but the ones cooked by monsters are simply a waste of food!

I looked at these villagers. They were very similar to us in the past. They ate together, worked together, and lived together.

By the way, when I was eating, I saw them helping an old lady out. The old lady smiled at me kindly, and I politely saluted. She was very satisfied and chatted with me a lot, mostly about interesting things in the village in the past.

I'm actually not interested in these human things, I'm just interested in eating.

From then on, I would come here every now and then to have a meal, but I didn’t eat for free, I paid for it.

Even though they don't want it, I will try to keep it, such as putting it on the beam, in the water tank, under the bed...

Later, the old woman died. I felt a little sad. Human life is really short, but maybe it was enough for her?

I decided that after this last meal, I won’t come here again.

I don't want to watch these young humans grow old and die. It really is an uncomfortable feeling.

At this dinner, I listened to them speak in memory of the old woman.

"If it hadn't been her, none of us would have survived." A man picked up the wine glass in his hand and drank it all.

"Yes, in order to prevent my aunt from remembering the past, I never dared to mention it." A woman lowered her head and wiped her tears.

I still listened, talking non-stop, jokingly, I won't come here in the future, but I will eat enough every day.

As they were talking, a man slammed his fist on the table, making a dull thud.

Perhaps they noticed that I paused, and they reacted and apologized to me repeatedly, saying that they didn't mean it and asked me not to take it to heart.

I nodded and continued to eat in silence, listening to their discussion.

Countless images flooded into my mind.

"Huh? Why are you crying?" the young man next to me asked me.

I shook my head, my mouth still chattering.

"Oh, your aunt is a good person, and everyone is very sad." Someone else advised me.

I nodded, a hint of bitterness coming from my mouth.

The food has lost its taste.
