The late autumn wind swirled withered yellow leaves at the entrance of Chenjia Village. Fang Zhiyi stood beneath the old locust tree, his two-meter-tall black bear form like an iron tower. A black wind, tinged with a chilling demonic force, rustled the adobe walls at the village entrance, stirring even the gravel on the ground.
"A monster is coming!" A man who was turning over the grain at the threshing ground at the entrance of the village was the first to see the black wind. The wooden rake in his hand fell to the ground with a clang, and he turned around and ran home without even caring about the grain that had been drying for half a day.
Chaos spread instantly. A woman rushed into the house holding her son, completely ignoring her daughter who was crying in fear. In just a short moment, the village entrance was empty, leaving only the old man lying on the ground and the child who was forgotten by the woman and crying heartbreakingly outside.
