Chapter 610: Ghost 2 (2/2)

This originally strong man wiped away his tears: "You were unconscious for two days before you were found. If you had been sent to the hospital earlier, maybe..."

Fang Zhiyi was struck by lightning. He stared at his numb legs, his mind blank. He struggled to sit up, but his father held him down. "Dad, where's Lin Zhou? Did he come to see me?" Fang Zhiyi wondered why Lin Zhou hadn't cared about him or offered any help. Could he have been led away by those people?

But my mother shook her head: "Lin Zhou bought a ticket to go out of town the day after your accident and left."

In order to treat Fang Zhiyi's illness, the family spent all their savings and even went into a huge debt. His father quit his job and went to the hospital every day to take care of him. His once black hair turned mostly white in just a few months.

Fang Zhiyi looked at his father's exhausted figure, his heart filled with guilt. He was only in his twenties and had a bright future, but now he was a disabled person who needed care. Not only could he not be filial to his father, but he was also a burden to him.

That night, Fang Zhiyi struggled to climb onto the windowsill in the dead of night. He looked at the lights downstairs, his heart filled with sadness. He took out his phone and made one last call to Lin Zhou. The phone rang for a long time before it was finally connected. However, the voice on the other end was not Lin Zhou's, but a strange woman's: "Hello, who is this?"

Fang Zhiyi's voice trembled a little: "I'm looking for Lin Zhou."

After a while, Lin Zhou's voice came over, with a bit of impatience: "Who is it?"

"Lin Zhou, it's me, Fang Zhiyi." Fang Zhiyi's tears flowed down her face. "I just want to ask you, why did you treat me like this? For so many years? I've been good to you, right?"

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds, and then a busy tone appeared.

"Honey, who is it?" The charming woman hugged Lin Zhou.

Lin Zhou laughed nonchalantly, "A friend who works as a loader. When I was having a hard time, he acted so high and mighty in front of me every day, as if he had done me a great favor. It was disgusting to watch! Because of him, my dad, and the neighbors, everyone looked down on me, but he still pretended to be doing me the best. Ugh. Now, am I not still enjoying the good life?"

The woman nodded: "Humph, I won't answer calls from people like that anymore, it's bad luck!"

Fang Zhiyi held the phone in his hand, his body shaking constantly. He looked at the night sky outside the window, took a last look in the direction of his father, and then jumped down.

"The original owner really deserved it. He actually managed to keep such a scoundrel friend for so long."

"What is a ghost? Isn't it a ghost?" Xiao Hei asked with a questioning look on his face.

"Yes, an accomplice, the kind you see when you see a tiger cheating people." Fang Zhiyi explained, "He always stirs up trouble, but he can't afford to do anything about it. He's extremely selfish and jealous. He doesn't appreciate your help and bites you back at the critical moment. He calls you hypocritical when you comfort him. He tells you that someone is bad, and when you help him analyze it, he turns around and repeats what you said to others. If he falls into the water, he'll try to drag you down with him."

Xiao Hei showed a look of disgust: "Human beings are still too complicated."

There was a knock on the door. Fang Zhiyi got up to open the door and saw Lin Zhou's big face.

"Home?" He said this and walked straight in. Fang Zhiyi did not stop him, but just narrowed his eyes.

"You got your salary today, right? Why don't you treat me to a nice meal?" Lin Zhou sat down with a smile that said "We are good buddies."

Fang Zhiyi recalled it briefly and found that there was indeed such a part. Lin Zhou first asked Fang Zhiyi to have dinner with him, then boasted to Fang Zhiyi about his goodness as a "good brother", and finally asked Fang Zhiyi to borrow money to invest in the project.
