Chapter 788 The Mob 9 (1/2)

The story of Building 17 spread throughout the neighborhood, and other buildings began to follow suit and form committees in an attempt to save themselves, while some became even more chaotic.

However, none of this has much to do with Fang Zhiyi. He is not a savior and cannot save everyone.

As Fang Zhiyi stared at the map and marked things up, Chen Rui sat beside her and watched. He understood that Fang Zhiyi always went out with the teams that collected supplies, largely to remember what was in more distant places. Chen Rui thought this young man was simply a god.

He's even planning what's to come.

"The rain has stopped!" someone shouted in the hallway, followed by cheers.

Chen Rui jumped up excitedly: "The rain has stopped! Zhiyi! Did you hear that?"

Fang Zhiyi simply nodded and continued drawing on the map.

Chen Rui was puzzled. Was he possessed? After a moment, he suddenly realized that Fang Zhiyi had killed someone, and he would definitely be held accountable after the disaster was over.

Chen Rui gritted his teeth: "Don't worry, we'll be your witnesses. The people you killed deserved to die."

Fang Zhiyi continued to give casual replies.

Although the rain had stopped, the water was receding very slowly, but Fang Zhiyi still set up the team to go out and search for supplies according to the previous plan.

Some people, seeing that the disaster was about to pass, did not take his words to heart, but there were still some loyal followers of Fang Zhiyi who did as he said. They did not know why, but they knew that listening to Fang Zhiyi was the right thing to do.

Rumors began to spread in the building that the disaster was about to end and those who committed murder would be punished, and the building was filled with panic.

Only Fang Zhiyi maintained the same behavior pattern as before the rain stopped.

"When the water level drops to the seventh floor, go to the west of the city. There's a logistics distribution center there," Fang Zhiyi instructed.

Chen Rui nodded.

"Some people think the disaster is over, I suspect they..."

"Those who don't want to go can leave it at that. Just gather the people who do want to go."

As the kayaks set off again, towing the wooden crates everyone had made for transporting goods, some people were puzzled, while others thought that Fang Zhiyi had become addicted to being an official.

Zhao Hu led the way again. They found some packaged food that had been soaked in water. Although some of it was waterlogged, many of it was still edible. There were also some canned goods and the like. However, on the way back, Fang Zhiyi changed direction and they rowed out of the city.

Along the way, they saw many people peeking out of buildings and watching them, giving off a feeling of a disaster movie ending.

As Zhao Hu's oars were blocked by several floating corpses, everyone's mood became heavy again.

"Fang Zhiyi, don't worry. When we investigate afterwards, we'll all testify for you. If it weren't for you, we'd probably either starve to death or end up like them..." Zhao Hu said abruptly.

Fang Zhiyi smiled slightly, then quietly looked ahead.

Zhao Hu's henchman nudged him: "Brother, we killed someone too..."

Zhao Hu was taken aback, his face turning somewhat gloomy.

No one spoke again along the way.

It took them a full half day to reach the place Fang Zhiyi had designated. Looking at the hillside before them, Zhao Hu, who had been silent the whole way, couldn't wait to jump down: "The ground! Hahaha! The ground!"

Several more people jumped in, and some even lay on the muddy ground.
