Chapter 788 The Mob 9 (2/2)

Fang Zhiyi simply looked up at the building, which had originally been a sealed-off resort that had been submerged. Now that the water had receded, the resort had been brought back to light.

Chen Rui followed his gaze, looking puzzled.

"Put everything here," Fang Zhiyi said.

No one understood what he was thinking, but Zhao Hu bent down to get to work.

"Boss, it's over, are you trying to hide here?" Someone realized something.

Fang Zhiyi rolled her eyes at him: "It's over? Over my ass. After so much rain, and corpses thrown into the water, guess what will be there after the floodwaters recede?"

"What...is it?"

Chen Rui realized: "Plague!"

Everyone gasped in shock.

“Away from the crowds, away from the city…” Fang Zhiyi said, looking at the villa in front of her.

The crowd's expressions turned to one of admiration once more. Was he even human? How could he have thought of something like that?

Half of the residents in Building 17 did not believe Fang Zhiyi's statement; they still thought it was over. However, some others felt that Fang Zhiyi had considered things very carefully.

"There's something wrong with this Heavenly Dao," Fang Zhiyi murmured, looking at the sky.

Xiao Hei laughed: "That's how this world is set up. People just do their jobs according to the rules, don't they?"

"I see. In my world, the government and military wouldn't just watch everything happen like this; at the very least, the rescue efforts wouldn't stop."

"That's amazing?"

"nonsense."

Xiao Hei stretched out a tentacle and patted Fang Zhiyi's shoulder: "Missing home?"

"nonsense."

Even after the water level dropped to the third floor, Fang Zhiyi didn't stop working. He led those who were willing to follow him to continue collecting supplies in areas where they could find them. Along the way, they encountered other survivors, but everyone greeted them in a friendly manner, and there was no fighting over supplies. This made Zhao Hu feel happy, until Chen Rui poured cold water on his mood.

"You think they're friendly? That's because there are more of us and we're all armed."

Zhao Hu muttered to himself, his face full of resentment.

On the third floor of the shopping mall, they witnessed two groups fighting over supplies. One after another, people fell to the ground, and the victors, their eyes bloodshot, shouted and cursed loudly. Even when the other side was incapacitated, they would still deliver the final blow.

Fang Zhiyi once again displayed his composure. The winners were excitedly moving supplies, but when they saw Fang Zhiyi and the others coming, they immediately became wary. Fang Zhiyi saw that what they were moving were just some packaged rice that had been soaked in water, and immediately lost interest.

But those people actually set their sights on their weapons, and the leader even yelled at them to put down their things and get out.

Then... Fang Zhiyi broke his arm, and Zhao Hu and the others rushed in. After their victory, Zhao Hu asked if they should move the supplies, but Fang Zhiyi shook her head: "Leave them to them, we don't need them."

Zhao Hu felt it was a bit of a pity, but he had long been used to listening to Fang Zhiyi.

The water level was getting lower and lower, and the receding was getting slower and slower. The whole building was filled with a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was discussing the arrangements after the disaster, and someone even patted his chest and said that he would treat everyone to a big meal afterward.

Only Fang Zhiyi was still making preparations, taking stock of supplies, and thinking while looking at the map. Some people had already chosen to leave their group because the water level had receded, and now only a dozen or so people were still with him.
